I assure you the japanese dub is just as insane. This show is just kind of its own special type of madness.

Kind of how french cartoons tend to be more riske and mature like with their content that it makes you feel like it was made for a more older mature denographic, teens/tweens, depends on the content

@@viviangarcia5696I mean, you can see the diffetence with power rangers that is a watered and dumbed down Super Sentai or Dragon Knight that has none of the drama and actual human death from Kamen Rider Ryuki (A show aimed at older kids where one of the main villains is literally a murderous psychopath and the creator's novels are so wild that it is explained that he ate shit and killed his own mom when he was just a baby).

@ZrusoEruption A lot of somethings actually. Back in 2019 actually. Her Sean Schemmel, Christopher Sabat and a bunch of other VA's at Funimation went on a witch hunt with another VA there because they didn't like that he was more popular and sold better than them. They also couldn't stand how open he was with his faith even though he never let his faith make him treat the 2 known gay VA's any different. He was good to them, and one of them even said so, but the other made up stories about hoe the guy was terrible to him just for him being gay to try to get him canceled and fired. And the woman here in question made up stories of him doing SA on her even though there were videos that proved she was lying. People started photo shopping images of him and bandwagoning to cancel him by making up their own stories of things he'd done wrong. But none of them ever had any real evidence, just photo shopped images or their stories, and they took all of it to Twitter instead of the police. The man got fired from all the companies he voice acted for. He was banned from several conventions and when he took them to court for ruining his life and defaming him, the judge was a super old guy who didn't understand Twitter and how them tweeting all this stuff could have defamed him and cost him his livelihood and then when he found out the guy was an anime voice actor, he basically just said "So you all voice cartoon characters? That's you job? Just apologize to each other and make up." And then tossed the case out. That judge honestly deserved to be fired for that. The case went to the appeals court, but got ignored and pushed aside when the virus hit. So yeah, I say sadly because I hate her for making things like that up. Those of us who have actually been assaulted (to any degree) do not like when someone makes things up and poorly acts like a victim to push their story along. Heck, one of the stories she claimed was him doing SA and harassment to her was him writing her name on a jellybean given to him by a fan at a con and then eating it and saying in front of everyone "Oh no, I ate Monica!" And everyone laughed. There was a video of it. But she still tried to spin the story later and pretend she was a victim because of it.

I’m almost 30, but there was a girl called Jane who went to my highschool for about a year who lent me the mangas :) she was really kind and I have no idea what she’s doing now. But I have such a good memory of the manga and the anime :)

@meathead2078 You should really research demographics and generations! Age matters when it comes to what we've been brought up with. I'm also 30 and grew up with sailormoon, whereas, you're probably super young (I cam tell...) and probably grew up on chowder or some newer show.

Laura and Jerry just have good chemistry when it comes to dubs. They bounce off each other really well.
I really want this show to come back or even get re-adapted. It was too real and way ahead of it's time. Has a lot of really good life lessons as well as pretty decent aging jokes.

Loved this show when I was 10, it’s still one of my favorite comfort series to this day :’). Sana 10000% shaped my personality.
Relatively, if you ever wanna read the manga it’s still super cute and good. If you’re looking for something similar to it ( in the fact that it’s stupid comedy ), I recommend Yotsuba :). Read it when I was about 8 or 9 and have all 15 volumes and consider it to be one of my top 3 comfort series :)

I'd recommend The Wallflower (Hulu) or the road to womanhood as found in UA-cam. Id also recommend Duran host club. Depending, maybe akatsuki no Yona manga though skip other than the actual introductory part, then the part just after....

I used to watch this anime in UA-cam 11 years ago, I was 13 then and I used to think this anime was too childish but mature at the same time, it was a weird feeling, I thought I’d never watch this again but the name came randomly in my head while was at work and unlocked a ton of nostalgic memories from school

He’s kinda a bodyguard situation, like a knight or someone who swears loyalty to another but are not in an actual sexual relationship. The girlfriend thing is the main char’s wish and thus his command. Hope this helps:)
Explanation from the mangaverse: rei was a homeless person that Sana suggested they take in to work. She was of course very, very little! Her mom took him in as her bodyguard and then manager, and bc he was hot Sana made her his boyfriend, in name. She literally calls him her gigolo, lol, a term she knows bc of her mom's novel the gigolo and I. People just go with it because they think she's joking (she's an actress, het primary acting style is comedy) but her mom and Rei basically just fool her to think that's true (bc Sana knows nothing about relationships!). The moment when she finds out is like finding out Santa is not real for her 😂 a formative moment basically. It teaches her that she sometimes uses adult words but doesn't know what they mean
(And just to clarify he really only acts as her bodyguard and manager haha, sometimes he offers advice like an uncle or older brother)
And to clarify further even though sana seriously sees him as a boyfriend and throws a tantrum over rei wanting to be with this woman instead her mom slaps some sense into her that rei was never her boyfriend and could never be

At first I thought the voice was a bit much, but the more it went along the more it seemed to fit, now I wanna watch the rest, but I'll probably watch it with subs anyways.
Seeing Sana and Akito together is like watching an anime version of Louise Belcher and Logan Bush.
Okay so the name of the anime is Kodacha and the name of the girl is Sana and the name of the boy is Akito and pretty much it's an interesting anime and has a very good plot!
I had to come back after I watch the new fruit basket and realized the main characters there are voiced by the same actors in here
Sana Kurata has the same voice as Emily, or Glitter Lucky from the Glitter Force
This voice acting is really good. It isn't that cutesy high pitch(even though it is fairly high pitch) but it has a lot of fluctuations and a bit of a raspiness to it.
I swear the whole cast of Fruits Basket dubbed this, lmao.
