figure looks great, although I noticed that Gewalt does not have any flaps in the rear of the jet mode. The color scheme in the tank mode is a little bothersome, as well.
There have been reports that the final version was to also have horizontal tail fins. Is this not the case?
love the tank mode, but that head transfer is just looks little bad designed. head transfer for jet mode is way better for sure.
great review, and great figure but i think you made a mistake with the shodows, they should be just beside of the head
Great review! That's the MP Blitzwing I have been looking for. I wish they offered / included a straight faced faceplate however this one looks like he's said or something lol. That's badass I still like their version of Astrotrain but if they ever make for a re-do I'm all in it seems DX9 has learned from their mistakes and that's evolution here in the making. I still love Galvatron but wished they had used the ratchet technology they have used here for Blitzwing. Bottom line SOLD!
i bet the real MP blitzwing will have one of those stands that the seekers come with because hes a jet also i bet they will try and and use a seeker mold for the jet mode

What this side by side with Gewalt and Chigur really shows is that Chigur is way too small in all modes, and needs to work out to beef up his thighs.
G1 Blitzwing is the best. However, bottom line, Blitzwing rules.
If the made him smaller the engineering would of sucked

I love the improvements they have done from figure to figure. As far as scale goes, I like it and think it's appropriate for a tank bot to be that size. Fantastic review!
So the Test shots from what I've seen so far are the actual end product, so what we see is exactly what we get.
A little bit big but I do love the heft he seems to have and am glad DX9 finally made a figure thick instead of always slender like. Will buy this bad boy when he comes out!
oh my god i think i will buy ditka just for to have him on my shelf since i love all his modes, but gewalt from dx9 will go on my masterpiece shelf once i have some mp figures, good review man

I'm only up to the Tank Mode part of the transformation, but I was wondering how sturdy do the hingest that connect the two halves of the tank treads feel? They appear to be on a clear plastic connector, and that kind of gives me pause. What do you feel about them?

Even though I have never bought a 3rd party transformer before... This guy is so lovely in all his modes and with his transformation that I am kind of debating getting together the money to buy him.

Cubamus Prime G1 toy or cartoon? I'm not all too familiar with the g1 toy look because I didn't own many transformers. I just used to watch the cartoon, i know there were many aesthetic differences. I am leaning gigapower though, they just look really good. But fantoys looks really good as well. I may eventually end up getting all of them.

Impressive. It's the size of a Fanstoys Dinobot. I think Gewalt should have been made 20% smaller, so it would size properly in robot & plane mode to the Masterpiece Jets, like in the cartoon. Also, I wish they added rear horizontal stabilizers, like the Mig-25 Foxbat it's based on. Regardless, I definitely will be picking this up.
If you compare F15 to a Mig25, the jet mode scale is perfect

He looks good. I'm liking the size and you can tell it's a quality piece. I however disagree that it's in scale with MP, he should be slightly shorter than soundwave, and astrotrain they should have made as big as Kronos but hey that's just my opinion. Thanks for the upload 😊
+Jordon Maynard-Daley Why do you think that Astrotrain should have been as big as Kronos/Skyfire? If he was that big, he would totally be out of scale. The main Decepticons, such as all six seekers, Astrotrain, Soundwave, Blitzwing, and Shockwave (I know that Shockwave wasn't a *main* character) shared the same height (Megatron was just a little taller than them). Kronos'/Skyfire's scale was correct because Skyfire was bigger than the other Autobots. Astrotrain however, was not bigger than the other Decepticons.
+metalgear1534 well 1) Astrotrain. Is a troop carrier so he should be bigger, 2) a few months back I watched the episode the god gambit (the one where he was bullying starscream and thrust on that planet that worshipped them like gods) and he was towering over them. Same with that episode where he freezes megs in the pipe, the triple take over I think it's called. He was taller than megs in that one
+Jordon Maynard-Daley Yeah, see, that's the problem. My argument for cartoon accuracy can be used against me since scale doesn't stay consistent in the cartoons. I understand what you're saying about those episodes. However, there have been episodes where Astrotrain was the same height as the other Decepticons that I mentioned. In Starscream's Brigade, Astrotrain is standing next to Thrust and Soundwave and all three of them are the same height. In Hoist Goes Hollywood, Astrotrain is standing next to Thrust and Ramjet and all three of them are the same height. The lack of consistency in the cartoons means that one Transformer can be taller than a specific Transformer in an episode yet later on in the same episode, they can be shorter or the same size. As an example, Astrotrain could be taller than Soundwave in an episode, yet, later on in the same episode, he can be the exact same height. Much of the time, if not most, he was the same height as the others.
+metalgear1534 I hear that, those are good points, but the guy turns into a train and a space shuttle, those are not small vehicles so I would expect him to be bigger mass shifting aside lol but we all see things differently I suppose
+Jordan Maynard-Daley Yeah, as much as I love The Transformers, the whole scale thing could be pretty goofy. Where Astrotrain is concerned, since he has been shown carrying other Decepticons in train and space shuttle mode, realistically, he should be the size of Omega Supreme at the very least :)
Why is it that the "unofficial" 3rd party Transformers are coming up with much better designs than the "official" Hasbro or Takara range? If Hasbro or Takara could produce this, it would make it much cheaper for us long time collectors who can't afford 3rd party prices.
