Yo you made that shit look so simple and easy. Straight to the point and not a lot of talking about nothing. Good job my guy and thanks. I’ll be doing my girl brakes and rotors on her 09 impala
Thanks for a great tutorial! I appreciate the clear video, showing me what to look for step by step. Gave me confidence to tackle my brakes for the 1st time!
Thanks for the reference video. I've done brakes many times on my various vehicles over the year. Just got a 2006 Impala for my teens and needed to verify the job on this car. I liked how you compress the caliper piston while it's still on old rotor. I'll have to try that method. Keep in mind, after first installing new pads/rotors,.don't forget.to "bed" your new brakes. Each manufacturer is a bit different, so Google your pads and bedding.
Thank you for another excellent how to video this time on brake replacement for the Impala. It is wonderful to know what to expect, what to properly lube, what size bolt and what to torque to before getting started. Knowing that Torx screw is there will save me time in particular as no other car I have worked on had a retaining screw on the rotor. I had rotors stuck that needed a good pounding to break free and might have missed that.
Smart putting anti seize on that retaining screw. Those screws.can be tough to remove. The reason they use that screw is for assembly.. So it stays in there on the assembly line. Retaining screw is not 100%necessary if you screw up the old one
Love the video man like my third time doing breaks. Forgot what I was doing, and this is a amazing video for beginners. Or intermediate, whatever? Keep up the good work, my man
Is there any reason you don’t just take the whole caliper assembly off as one piece? Great video and informative! Love the fact that UA-cam has become a hub of helpful guys like yourself!
What camera do you use during videos like this? Most shots look like pov. Btw, I'm guessing you started with the mechanical style videos but realized how much fun editing can be. 👍
@@barricadegarage5361 that's awesome, I would not have thought that. I really enjoy your videos. I will approach editing differently for my videos after seeing yours. It always that you try to keep yours under 5min. Is that better for audience retention in your opinion?
Entire car is about 3700lbs so a 1.5 ton, or 3000lb jack should suffice for the front end of the car. Personally, id look for a 2 or 3 ton jack and stands
Yea, some of those old rotors get seized on. If you are replacing rotor, you can wack it with a hammer or mallet all around the surface. Just do not hit your lugs. When you install new, I like to put a bit of anti seize where the rotor contacts the hub. Just careful not.to get anti seize on lugs
Wish everyone had a brain to do tutorials like this. Props
Gawd what a solid video. Editing, narration, quality all on point 🤌 didn't have to sit through 18 minutes of yammering and fumbling around.
I absolutely love your tutorials. I don't even own a Chevy but I enjoyed every second cuz you're that good. 👍
Thanks big bro
Perfect, short and sweet with all the right information. Well done!
:17 that is extremely useful advice. Jacking points for different vehicles is very good under rated information.

Do you have to do all four
How did you raise the safely, and get the front end on Jack stands ?
He raised from front. The pinch welds are on side, just behind front tires, under.front doors
Hey is 1.5 ton Jack strong enough to lift whole front end?

This guy Is like a black Scotty Kilmer or African Chris fix
Mine doesn’t have the retaining screw. Rotor still won’t come off. Now what? 2009 impala lt
If you don't have them off yet, you have to bang on the rotors carefully, to loosen them up. The rotors get rusted to the hub. Good luck!

At 3:10 you say 75 ft lbs, shouldn’t that be 130?
No clean hub 🤔 , 2:12 that’s a boxer like a rag habahaha
It wasnt that serious to clean the hub and anything I outgrow is subject to become a rag lol
