- Howard Zane and I discuss his recent HO scale build of a building we did some time ago in O scale. We also discuss my new series "It begs to be modeled" which looks at modeling real prototype buildings. Howard on the other hand prefers to model imaginary structures he designs using his extensive background and training to do so. Both are wonderful facets of the worlds best hobby Model Railroading. My age is again getting the best of me. I apologize for my comment about never kit- bashing. I really meant to say that I no longer kit- bash. Hell's bells....most of my city of Old Bridge is made from kit-bashed building kits, Then I sold a few to customers over the years made from City Classic and Magnuson kit parts. I once kit-bashed a Swackhammer kit from Fine Scale as I purchased it on eBay and found it was missing a mess of parts and other parts were included. I enjoyed the challenge about 1000 times more than I would have had trying to return it.
Damn....I just realized that I put the Firestone sign on the O scale version on the rear of the building. I will correct this during diorama phase.

How long does it take for a building like this to be finished and ready to sell?
Once we get to a project large structure about 3 weeks. They are not built to stock all of Howard's custom builds are built to order.
