Very nice video. I picked up some Rosa gallery on sale this winter... the modern set has both Cobalt Turquoise (PB28) and "Turquoise" (PB15:3, PG 7). The second one is closer in color to Winsor and Newton. I mixed the Cobalt Turquoise with Magenta Rose, the granulation creates amazing speckled effects... if you like that sort of thing. 😊
@@ThePortlandArtStudio So... DaVinci is having another sale, and I don't want to miss out this time! They have Cobalt Turquoise, and Co.Turq. Deep, both are PB36. The regular Cobalt Turquoise has the same hue as all of your regular ones, and the Co.Turq. Deep looks like Windsor and Newton. Its weird how the color can change like that even with the same pigment!
Winsor and Newton has two cobalt turquoise paints, cobalt turquoise and cobalt turquoise light. The latter is a single pigment PG50 that has a similar hue to the other paints that you swatched. It doesn’t have the milky consistency which you noticed with the other paints. I prefer it to the other brands.
I pause the video in the beginning when your wetting the rosa gallery turquoise. I wanted to say that the way it wets ..you said the milky consistency... it reminds me of the gonsai tambi paints. If you've used the gonzai tambi watercolor palettes they look just like that.
Hi! Thanks for your comment! Yes, the binder does have a similar consistency, but I find that the Rosa Gallery paints don't have the same shine that the Gansi Tambi paints do when they dry... Thank you again for the comment! Cheers!
The Qor one is called Cobalt Teal and the pigment is PB 50. Qor‘s Cobalt Turquoise (PB 28) is much darker. It is typical for all Cobalt colors to have that feel with a high pigmentation.
About Winsor and Newton being a different color: They have a "Cobalt Turquoise -190" and a "Cobalt Turquoise Light-191" . Their "light" version (191) seems to be much closer to the other colors you tested. (I know it is closer to my Rosa Gallery).

Ah, ok... that's why the Pigman information is so important! Thanks for pointing that out.
