This video is honestly laughable. I can’t speak for other countries but in the United States, firefighters, just as the overall population, on average are overweight.
@@sbdftw1702 nah youre biased. Any time ive dealt with the fire dept everyone but the chief/Seargent , or whatever you call the older manager, that came out for the call were in very good shape even the middle aged ones. Not saying they could do a muscle up, but they arent typically overweight. Not where i live. Maybe you live in a rural are with volunteer firefighters
@@augustusappling139 I will say I don’t live in a big city like New York, Chicago, etc. I think those departments for sure have well rounded training programs throughout academy and while on duty.

I guess I can't speak for most of the world, but they definitely do in the US.
@@thomas1644some departments have bare minimum requirements to join but once you join you never have to pass another test, hence all the (mostly older) fat cops
Police officers do have a very stringent physical test and written aptitude tests. The problem is that in the last 30 to 40 years they have had to seriously reduce the physical requirements to be more inclusive to women and lower their written test requirements for affirmative action. Our liberal society doesn’t want militant police, they want a very diverse and exclusive soft and stupid one. That’s why they have reduced their standards.
Hey! Didn't see if anyone else gave the current grading for that exercice, for Paris Firefighter but here we go:
* 10/20 : one elbow, the other and then pushing up
* 15/20 : both elbows above the plank simultaneoustly and then pushing up
* 20/20 : strict muscle up without stopping
* 25/20 : same as 20/20 + a handstand on the plank
I heard about fully geared 25/20 which add around 15kg on the back, at least 1kg for each feet (re-enforced shoes) and a few kg for the clothings
That would be insane to see. Like how some calistenics athletes do bodyweight exercises with 30+ kgs. I've never even been able to do one muscle up, so hearing this is amazing

As a couch potato, I judge how hard this challenge is on how much you guys suffer doing it. Seeing you struggle and do repeats is enough to make this super hard. Maybe not a 9 from my standpoint but certainly nowhere close to one of Anton's uber challenges.

Getting into the fire service has been one of the toughest things I’ve ever done, if even only for the fact that it takes so long so you have to stay disciplined throughout… I start the training on May 9th now which is apparently even tougher than getting in, but I can’t wait 🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽🔥🔥🔥 I got some cats to save from trees

Update 3 weeks in: the training is wild, I’ve never experienced anything like it in my life, it’s really rewarding but incredibly tough mentally and physically, loving it but will be glad to be through the basic training and on station! 😅
Average roof pitch, on a pitched roofed house (it sounds pedantic but it is relevant, builds vary) is upwards of 30-50 degrees. I'd imagine the scenario most likely to occur here for a firefighter would be out of a window, where they would have the benefit of using their legs, pushing off of brick if they're lucky. Can't imagine doing it in all that gear though... With a fire! Upmost respect to all those who run in when we run out.

I think what they're trying to simulate in the Parisian FF test would be getting onto a pitched roof to cut for ventilation, which is something we do on almost every working fire in Philly. We usually place the ladder a few rungs above the roof to avoid having to do something like this, but sometimes you're SOL and have to make it work... but then you're doing it with about 60-80 lbs of gear, including your saw and tool.

I’m a firefighter for the military, I’ve never had to do this as a requirement. I think most of my unit could do it, I don’t think I could with full gear though. Hearing some of these impressive feats of strength in the comments that I can’t do encourages me to push harder so much appreciated.
Anton is the only channel I watch at 1x speed because every second is so good

I find it funny that there is an aura around firefighters that they are the fittest of the fittest. It's true that, depending on the region, there are some fit individuals. But here in Belgium most of the volunteers are not those individuals. Doesn't make them bad firefighters because there is more to the job than that. Technical insight and expertise win over physical fitness. On the other hand it is a good challenge. ✌️

I have seen firefighters fighting fires a many times in my lifetime, I have never seen one run or walk fast :D maybe has something to do with the fact that they have to move around a situation safely and not swiftly :D

Пришел к выводу, что захват движения выхода силой для игр записывают на перекладине, а затем просто экстраполируют на любые другие зацепы.

Very few firefighters in the States could do any of this. They should, but few dont/cant.
Question: How did you guys get so physically capable? What sports did you participate in?
These are Ninja Warrior Athletes, some have experience from previous sports, but the ninja sport is very good for building strength in various types of physical activity :) such as rock climbing, balance, explosive strength, stamina,…
In particular, Sean used to be a gymnast.

I can tell you this. In texas. There is no fitness test at all it seems like. There's a firestation right next to where we live and one of those firefighters is super overweight! I promise that dude could not run a mile I'm sure.
Also, I have a buddy who works as a paramedic and according to him, Firestations don't even have those big fire poles to slide down!!
Probably Volunteers. You have the fireman's carry up 4 flights in the tower and scuba certification in the pool for the breathing apparatus
