I remember my Dad's 46 cj2a. I was a little boy in the early 70's and Dad would take us for rides in all weather including heavy snow. He called her Nellie Belle. Decades later he had a 43 gpw and i have a 42. Dad passed in 2019 leaving his jeep to my son.

Hey bro. I have a 2008. Jeep Wrangler I purchased 3 years ago. Two door soft top. Automatic, everything manual, but of course with all the technology. It's beautiful and no longer my daily driver, after I paid her off. It's complimented on atleast once or more a day. I just purchased my 2016 f-150 and I couldn't bring myself to trade it in. Because off all the work I've done in 3 years, with now 152k miles. Estimated 5k in repairs in 3 years. It's Rescue Green metallic. It also just got new tires, new soft top, and is extremely clean. I could drop it in a JEEP show, if they do 10 year catagories, and probably come home with some place trophy. But good luck with your jeep or if you keep it. Plus I do love all of our war history. That's why I always wanted one. But they're expensive but hold the value..😎 🙏

Your windshield frame is M38, the Arctic top used its own special windshield frame.

    hello
very nice Jeep. I'm thinking about buying a 46 CJ2a right now as well. I was surprised to hear have a rear PTO and the overdrive! How is that possible? I thought its either or? doesn't the overdrive go in the back of the the transfer case, where the PTO would come out? i wished I could see how that works? any chance you could show that? Or send me a picture of the set up? thanks

@@frankthetank6558 thanks. I don’t wir understand. What do you mean by “ the drive is 3” shorter to make room”? Can you explain it a little better or point me somewhere where I could see it? Thanks

The 2a is a class of its own! F the rest! The 2a is what every jeep wishes to be! It may be small but 10/10 would pick over any other jeep ever

Quite a difference to drive I'm sure. The wipers on that m38 windshield are mounted on the bottom when vacuum. That electric is an aftermarket That the previous owner mounted on top. The hand wiper probably came from a split window original windshield. Arctic top windshields are vertical and similar to the m38 but I think you're is std m38. Lots of ancillary equipment on that one. AT 3:06 it looks like you can see a stamped serial number on the front horizontal surface of the block above the water pump. I've heard of serial numbers being ground off when the block is decked but wasn't aware some came without. Enjoy and remember it doesn't have to be perfect.

Thanks for the comment! The bottom of the windshield was cut and welded to the 2A windshield mounts. That’s why I assumed it was an Arctic Top M38, just slanted back with the 2A mount. I got busy a couple days ago and sanded down the places where the serial number should have been. I didn’t find anything. It might have been leveled down but the previous owner has me believing it never had one. In the next video I’m going to talk about the issues I have with the Jeep. Some need to be addressed immediately and some are going to be fixed with time. I like the patina and character of imperfect Jeeps.

Not nessasarly…. 99% of true 2a will have that upper wiper (not electric ) but for myself that’s the quickest way to tell a topples 2a from a 3 and beyond… as well as the washer shape on the bottom(square/circle)
It really is half the fun to see what u did /didn’t get that is still stock

Very nice jeep, but can tell it’s not factory just by the glass and the year it was made. Very cool looking CJ-2A! In processing of restoring my grandfather’s ‘47 CJ-2A as well.
