Thanks again for this video I just swapped out the 8212 to the 8215 in a Datejust rep and turned out excellent and keeps much better time. I bought my movement new and because of your stem being short I ordered a extra stem that was long so I was able to get mine just right. Thanks for the video it showed me any possible issues and I was able to compensate for it by getting the longer stem. I used my belt sander to get my retention ring to fit made quick work of it.

Excellent video. I’m going to try this out. I’m glad to see that so many people are buying replicas and replacing the movement when they have problems with them. The genuine manufacturers really took a huge shit on their customers and let their authorized dealers have their way with them. Charging customers $10-$20k more than retail on already overpriced products is unconscionable. I’ll never buy anything but replicas now. I dont mind swapping out the movement every so often because its better than paying $300 to have a genuine serviced.

Nice video! I've also bought a 'homage' watch. Very nice quality with a sterile dial (diver). It came with a DG 3804-3 GMT and I'm thinking of changing it to Miyota 8215 as well-- although I may have to also replace the dial. It appears the DG2813/3804, ETA 2836 and Miyota 8205/8215 are interchangeable.
HMmmm , would replacing with a VH31 mecaquartz have worked? I am no longer willing to put up with the downsides of mechanical, especially automatic, movements.
Great vid ! I usually build my spacers from brass and clamp down automatic movements if you go the extra mile on a sport watch or diver. But I haven’t came across a dg8213 lately and didn’t know it was a compatible with miyota 8200 series …..Awesome

Great, I've got a Parnis Yatchmaster homage, but I'm not sure if it comes with a miyota or the dg2813…I think it's the latest one cause has hacking, at first I thought it was the miyota for the sound of the rotor but since has hacking it should be the mingzhu, it feels extrange sometimes when winding the movement so maybe I will replace it with the miyota in the future

PS: some people say that movements that are sold as 8205 (or 8215) are in fact 8200 anyway these movements from Ali (or eBay) from China have the same alignment with DG2813 and even DG3804 for dial feet, also hands fits. Done this a few times 😀

Why do some 2813 movements have a pink wheel and others gold. I have a gold center wheel and it doesn't even have any markings on it like DG or the crown shape to tell me where it was made.

Fist adjust wheel in the moment when the date changes than you put hour hand and after that minute hand and second hand. Good when the watch is not running.

😀 Hard to answer, rather you need to feel it, the pressure should be enough to keep the second hand on the pivot. When still you has problem mayby the hole in the tube is too small. You can use a pin but here again feeling. 👍
Clean and oil that DG2813 and it will work fine.I have one that was given for free as stopping occasionally,after a strip clean and oil has proven to be a good reliable movement that just needed a clean and oil.
Hi, I found an old watch dial in my granddads shed. No watch movement or case, just a dial, and its in good condition, probably dated from the 1950s. How would I match a watch movement to it?
You should start with checking dial feet alignment, also a good idea would be to check what movement was installed in this watch according to the brand name that is written on it in general not an easy path, even 0,1 mm difference make it impossible to install on the movement.

Hi, movement with GMT have additional wheels so you cannot use Miyota 8215 and also ETA because they don’t have these wheels. ETA also has holes for dial feet’s in a different place so the dials between Miyota and ETA are not interchangeable. I hope it helps. 😀

I find it interesting that a Watch brand,would use an exhibition Case back that says “Miyota Co” instead of slapping a “Starking”Rotor on it.The 8215 is a workhorse and can last 20+ years,but it isn’t beautiful.
If the case fits is ok, the only thing the dial feet will not match with the new movement, second movement ring that holds the movement in place, you have to find something for that. Good luck with your project 😀

Fajne hobby. Jeśli chodzi o wiedzę to poszukaj na chomiku, jest tam trochę książek. Mechanizm warto było wymienić na Miyote bo ma nieco lepszą renomę. Co do zegarka to już decyzja należy do Ciebie czy naprawa starego czy jednak kupno nowego. Czasami nie opłaca się naprawić lepiej kupić nowy. Powodzenia

Hi, Miyota and Eta unfortunate are not interchangeable. In may opinion ETA is rather a better movement but lately Miyota lunched new models (like 9015) so they are also very good option

@@adios3502 rather the dial by Miyota is a little bit different so if you want to change the movement you have to think also about new dial and hands, The ring, I'm not sure but if it is plastic probably it is possible to adjust it

DG 2813 is good but there is a general opinion that Miyota is better 🙂

I have a gmt parnis can i use miyota 8215 or eta 2836 in it if yes how can these movements be moded to use gmt function.
Hi, movement with GMT have additional wheels so you cannot use Miyota 8215 and also ETA because they don’t have these wheels. ETA also has holes for dial feet’s in a different place so the dials between Miyota and ETA are not interchangeable. I hope it helps. 😀

@@alicancer83 As far as I known ETA 2824 and 2836 has the same feet alignment and DG and Miyota 82 differs from that in ETA. If you see pictures of dial in internet auction they have normally four feet’s

Hi! I have a 2813, keeps good time. When I manually wind it to give it a kick start, the winding is not smooth, very rough. Does this sound fixable or the possibility of a movement change?
That's normal. Miyota gives similar sound so when it has good time keep using it

I find it interesting that a Watch brand,would use an exhibition Case back that says “Miyota Co” instead of slapping a “Starking”Rotor on it.The 8215 is a workhorse and can last 20+ years,but it isn’t beautiful.

i have invicta quartz watch dial size 44-45 mm and need to put automatic movement. is it ok if i can used 8015 or 8213. Please advise
If the case fits is ok, the only thing the dial feet will not match with the new movement, second movement ring that holds the movement in place, you have to find something for that. Good luck with your project 😀

Czy masz jakieś ciekawe źródła, z których sam się tego wszystkiego uczysz? Mam stary zegarek, który wymaga wymiany mechanizmu i zastanawiam się po tym filmie, czy nie lepiej poszukać jakiegoś "ciekawszego" zamiast kupować prosty chiński na baterie, który jest tam domyślnie.
Fajne hobby. Jeśli chodzi o wiedzę to poszukaj na chomiku, jest tam trochę książek. Mechanizm warto było wymienić na Miyote bo ma nieco lepszą renomę. Co do zegarka to już decyzja należy do Ciebie czy naprawa starego czy jednak kupno nowego. Czasami nie opłaca się naprawić lepiej kupić nowy. Powodzenia

Hi, Miyota and Eta unfortunate are not interchangeable. In may opinion ETA is rather a better movement but lately Miyota lunched new models (like 9015) so they are also very good option

@@adios3502 rather the dial by Miyota is a little bit different so if you want to change the movement you have to think also about new dial and hands, The ring, I'm not sure but if it is plastic probably it is possible to adjust it
