Neil is criminally under-rated. Too much emphasis is put onto his Bonzo / Rutle / Python connections, but his solo work is never given the praise it deserves. This song is just beautiful pathos - McCartney would be proud of the melody and Lennon would give his right arm for lyrics like these.
Stunning. I've heard this song before (can't remember if it's on any of Neil's earlier albums or it was on s rarities tape somewhere) but I've never seen this bit from IBOR before. Thanks for uploading!!
I noticed the brand of radio at the end. It's Roberts. I live in San Diego and bought a Roberts Quad stereo from a thrift shop ten years ago. I didn't know the brand. Is it an English company?
Such an great talent. Lovely song. RIP Neil.
RIP Neil Innes 😢

"Oohhhh! Don't rub it in!!!" - N. Innes to me circa 1998

Some Neils videos needs to come out on a DVD.
He was the ninth Beatle, but kept it a secret
Brilliant. “Eleanor Rigby” ala Innes.
Great vid, first view for me. RIP Neil.

This sounds intriguingly like the inspiration for Hazel O'Connor's "Will You".
Poignant.
