You all are so right it wasn't Febuary 31st when I started the Dahlias lol It was March 1st* Thanks so much for putting up with my humanity :)
You're the best! That's why I love your channel ❤❤❤
What episode was it on that channel. I think that's what is going on with my plants
That made me giggle. You really have had a lot going on, so it's understandable.
You have so many amazing qualities! Everyone makes mistakes now and then.
it made me giggle. that slow release potting mix you can mix with a fresh bag without fertilizer and dilute it's fierceness.
My husband was always the one that did the garden. I was the one that did the harvesting. Now I’m doing it all and he’s watching over me as I do it up there in heaven.
My hubby of 57 yrs is watching me, too! We are blessed!
❤
@@janb2162 yes we absolutely are!
God bless you guys ❤

Don’t know if you noticed, but when you were watering in your sugar snap peas there was a rainbow. My grandmother would say that is a good omen for your garden! Thank you for showing us another good season beginning.
Just wanted to say thank you for everything you have taught me. I have wanted a KitchenAid Mixed for 40 years. My husband bought me one for last Christmas as well as a food processor! Hadn’t use since I received it! I was afraid! I came across a good deal on garlic. I’ve made my first garlic pucks in my 72 years! Dehydrated onions. Set my tomatoes, peppers, chives, sage ,thyme out to sun! Our last frost date is the 20th. Garden was plowed this am! Thank you! Thank you!🍅🫑🧄❤️
😂 It's so important to laugh at yourself, huh??
That is so amazing! You have a wonderful husband….and you will LOVE your kitchen aid! I myself have not used mine to its potential in the past 20 years so don’t feel bad😘. I can’t wait to make her garlic pucks!
I've had my Kitchen Aid for 50 years. It still works great. My husband bought it for me. I bought the sieve attachment and I love it.
I'm 77 and I'm like you Becky working with my flowers and vegetables outside is like food for my soul
ME TO! :)

Hey sweet friend, thank you for sharing your wonderful recipes and adventures with us. I was diagnosed with metastatic cancer and watching your vlogs fills my heart with joy and happiness. Just to see your beautiful eyes as you taste your recipes is such a delight in my day. I enjoy your mom and you cook together. I noticed that you purchase asparagus on your shopping hauls would you consider growing some. Sending blessings to you and your beautiful family.
I'm sorry to hear that. But to give some encouragement to you I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic internal melanoma 2 years ago in my lung and abdomen and am on targeted therapy and doing good so keep God first and believe in his healing power. I will keep you in my prayers.
@@sherylhughes5672God is good! Been living with stage 4 since 2011. Remember that God decides when He wants us home. In the meantime we love, live, garden, cook and watch Becky! 😂
Hoping for the best outcome. Sending hugs and prayers from a cancer survivor also from 6 years ago.
Sending prayers to you friend.

you’ve brought together such wonderful , kind and strong individuals Becky.. I know this when I read through the comments, love and prayers to you all! ❤
I just planted peas last week and then it snowed. I just checked them today on a wet rainy day and they are actually coming up. I’m so excited.!
Have you ever watched "the veggie boys" Chanel? Its a HUGE damily operation i think in Pennsylvania. They have many greenhouses, lots of acreage and grow a bit if everything it seems. They use a little metal stick ( maybe the size of a nail) to help transplant their seedlings. I guess its the fastest way to simply get tjose tiny seedlings into the soil. I think you woukd really enjoy their show! I cant even figure out how many generations work together. They even have a family owned country store where they sell their goods! From eggs from their hundreds of chickens, the beef that they raise and sell, of course thousands of flowers and the veggies that they grow. Its a really cool chanel!
Thank you for allowing us to follow along as you plant things and cook things and we all appreciate it. We always look forward to it. We will see you on the next video.!
Your dahlia seed starts grow the tubers over the growing season. I was so surprised when I was setting up my GreenStalks and found tubers where I had previously planted seeds. I love that you explain and teach us. I am 64 and I have learned so much from you over the past 4 years! I have started baking, doing freezer meals and all the stuff with confidence! Thanks Becky!
My first green stalk is being delivered today. I couldn’t not get the cherry blossom 🌸 (Pink)😍! I ordered one and my husband also ordered one!! My front porch is going to look so beautiful!! In all honesty I literally want 6 of them! 2 for my huge front porch, 2 for my huge back porch and of course 2 for the porch at my 60 ft building. (My craft room) My bank account just laughed at me, though 😂! I hope Green Stalk keeps the pink planter. I am going to use one for Cilantro, Parsley, and mint. With the mint being on the bottom due to the aggressive growth of mint!
The cuttings didn't like the bright sun the same day they were cut. They might have even appreciated the heat mat and shade over on the work bench. But you said they lived so it's all good.
I've been waiting for this day! I had no idea there was that much going on in the grow room 😊 Way to Becky! And that was sweet of Josh to build you a new shelf 🎉
Just love watching you work in the soil….wish I had enough land to do it still AND the age. But I have my garden stalk to grow all my herbs! And flowers in the 2nd one. Thanks for bringing a smile to my face!
Happy Weekend everyone! Hi Becky, hi friends !
Also wish to say,
Thanks Josh!! U Rock…..👏👏👏
You just made my entire week by releasing a new post, I love your channel! Your sweet nature and positive attitude is such a blessing to all of your viewers. I wish you well and can’t wait to see your garden planted 🤗🌱🌷🪻
Becky, I’ve been binge watching your videos from two years ago! love them. Glad to see this new one.
You need more “wind” for the starts, they wouldn’t be as droopy when they get as tall, and the stems would thicken up more, Maybe open the windows in there and let the air move around more.
So sorry you struggled today and overwhelmed!! But GIRL you are amazing!! You get more done than I even think about🤣
I hope you know how fun it is to watch you and I always appreciate your honesty. God bless you and keep you!!
Sandi
This is going to be such a great season in the garden! A great summer! 😀
Dahlias are very thirsty plants and when get even a bit dry they flop dramatically but then bounce up again when watered so that's probably why some of them were flopping a bit on you, other plants in my pots don't even look dry and the Dahlia's beside them be looking half dead! 😂 I gave up growing them in pots as so much work to keep them watered even in huge pots. Love your channel!❤
I’m not a gardener but I will listen to your garden videos because I like to comment with my daughter who does garden about her gardening. ❤thanks for always sharing!
This warms my heart xxx
That's so neat how the small soil blocks fit into the big soil blocks
I think my February is different than your February 😂
🤣🤣
Those soil blockers are very slick, makes getting the plant into a bigger block, it just fits in, nice and easy, stress free
don't forget you bought the baskets last year that were hanging on the porch that can be refilled
Your a very hard worker. Cooking, gardening and taking care of your family and doing so much on You Tube. Don't forget to take time for yourself and get plenty of rest.
I’m so excited for this years garden Becky. I have followed you since the beginning and the progress every year is amazing to see. In autumn I get excited about the food preservation projects, winter about using all the yummy food and spring about the new gardening year. Always something to look forward to. 😊
Your busy season is about to begin! Hope you have great success and I can’t wait to watch the abundance!
Can't wait to see all your flowers in bloom
I propogate mint, basil, thyme, lemon balm and oregano by water rooting
For more success snip HALF of rest of each of the leaves off . You can also dip them in the rooting compound before you put them into water. If you ever run out of routing compound, powdered cinnamon works great also. It is so good to see you outside ! Gardening is my favorite hobby and I love to see other people doing it 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱Have a Great week Becky 💚
Last year i just sprinkled my zinnia seeds in my garden beds and they grew so good. I would suggest trying that instead of starting them inside since you are short on space.
My Mom and Dad were so good at anything plants, flowers, veggies, flowering trees, fruit bearing trees and vines. I miss them everyday and miss their wisdom. So glad you decided to propagate a few of the dalias. Becky, kudos to you! Always welcoming knowledge and loving the science in all things! 😊❤
i use shot glasses to root small cuttings -- i just make sure i put them where i see them daily so i can change or add water -- works well for me :-) -- the double shots with the straight sides work the best -- can get at the junk stores for cheap!!
Hi Becky. Thanks for sharing with us, it's so nice to start another planting season yet again❤❤ all the best to you in another year of planting. Can't wait to see the amazing harvest❤👍
Love, Love Love all of your videos, Becky! You do such a great job on your meals, gardening, filming and editing! I just don't know how you get it all planned, printed, bought, planted, etc. Thank you for working so hard to make happy videos for us!
Becky! I had a terrible climbing accident three weeks ago & broke 6 bones in one leg. Seeing you garden helps me so much in feeling I don't miss out as much this season. Thank you so much for the joy you spread ❤
Hi Becky, yep great being in the garden, I planted my seeds today!
Sweetpeas are wonderful to grow, remember when they flower you need to pick them often for the best results. My Dad's favourite. I'm growing some this year too. Love the fragrance... 🎉❤
I started slips just like you. From organic store bought sweet potatoes. I got soooo many slips. More than I can plant. I had 4 potatoes and have maybe about 30 slips….😂 I did put my potatoes on heat mat in the beginning to get them going. Then when they were overproducing I tried to slow them down by taking them off heat and lights.
We plant our poppies in October and they are in glorious bloom right now with a super bloom of Texas wild flowers (I.e.) bluebonnet time!). I live in Central Texas. The color really cheers the heart after a brown winter! 😊
Yay! I've been looking forward to your next gardening video. I love seeing all the green in your grow room!! :)
Becky, just a thought, if you ever decide to modify your growroom table. I have seen planting tables with a round cut out on one side(where you can slide the leftover soil down where it is collected in a container). Hope that made sense. Everything is looking so good. Go with your sensibility and that will give you confidence in decision making. As you already know, the more you do, the more you know. Keep going, you are doing fantastic! 😊❤
Hello Becky, your grow room is a dream. Your garden space is huge and you have done an excellent job charting out where to plant specific plants considering how the Sun moves over your garden. Thank you for sharing your wealth of information growing organicly from seed to table. I never miss a video.
Sweet potatoes, I lay them on top of soil, then as they get to 12 -16 inches I burry it like a V shape let the end out of soil, then continue and allow them to grow. When I've gotten my area covered I bury the original sweet potato. I've done this for 3 years with great results each plant grows roots and puts off potatoes.
Here in Scotland we love sweet peas, they’re so fragrant and pretty delicate flowers ❤
Thank you for inspiring me today. I needed to up pot peppers and you gave me the push. Can’t wait to see all your beautiful flowers in the garden this year. Blessings ❤️🌺
It’s better to top off the plants awhile after transplanting. It gives the plant x to get over the transplant shock. Topping them & transplanting at the same x really stresses out the plants. It’s “double shock”.
Thank you for mentioning the date...helps us follow your planting dates 😊
I planted shockwave petunias about 10 years ago and am still enjoying the volunteers each spring and summer. They never get as bulky as the original but they drop their seeds and I am ever so thankful to not need to buy seeds every year
Your garden looks so well loved already. 😊❤
Hi Becky! ❤
February doesn’t have 31 days.
You need a new calendar. The one you’re referencing is broken. 😂
You are 100% correct! It was March 1st :)
February 29th, 30th and 31st are the 3 days of the year that a man is always right no matter what! 😮😅😂 You ladies need to remind your SO of that! 🤣🥴
lol! This small error made me giggle. It’s been decades since I’ve been a new mother juggling household projects and responsibilities. 😊😂
Hi Becky! You are adored through your perfection. You are a true inspiration. I’m in awe of what you accomplish!
Girl you got it done ❤ awesome job and you're right just breaking stuff down gets you going 🎉
I love watching your garden. My favorite trellis flower is scarlet runner beans. They grow so fast, thick and are stunning. The hummingbirds and bumble bees love them. They also grow up sunflowers. Martha Stewart says they are her favorite to shell and eat. It's easy to save the seeds for next year, so we only have to buy once. 😊
I put my sweet potato in dirt and on the heat mat. Took 3 weeks to sprout. I'm out of room and ordered 2 more lights. I have not started any flowers yet. Planted out 500 onions and my romain and broccoli and cauliflower. Plant happy friends have a wonderful weekend!
That makes sense, since sweet potatoes love the heat
Becky in the UK we call it potting on xxx
Gramma always used honey for a rooting compound. Works like a charm!
I enjoy your adorable expressions!
Wow! Thank you for the beautiful reminder Summer is coming. Nice work.
You can up plant so fast I enjoy watching you in the grow room and garden ❤.
I think you don't need to worry about your Dahlias being droopy. They are having some transplant shock. I also wouldn't up pot and trim at the same time. That is 2 stressors at the same time.
Hi Becky, you can pinch your dahlia plants. :) You can save them and root them too. Same with the snapdragons.
Oops! You knew that already. Lol. Just got to that part of the video. 😂
Thanks! I didn't know that would work with snapdragons. That's great news!
I just plant petunias in the ground and they spread all over. I just love them.
Oh my gosh, your flower starts are looking soooo good ! Mine are puny lol I’m hoping they’ll beef up when I up-pot them but phew! Yours are looking amazing 🤩🌸🌺💐
Tip for leggy seedlings:
Add a fan for air circulation and/or rub your hand across the tops
The movement of the plants will encourage stockier growth 👍
Hola Becky and Friends ❤
My mom did sweet peas every year. They were her favorite flower. She always soaked them and planted them directly out in the garden
It’s amazing how far you have come with all these amazing projects , it seems like yesterday when you were showing us the new home and all your gardening plans. My how time does fly 🧚🏻♂️
I can not WAIT to see your garden once everything is planted and growing!! I've been following you for a few years now, and it's always such fun! I wish i could peek into the future xD
I ended up with TONS of little volunteer tomatillos this year! They were in little clumps of 20 or so where I had missed picking up some tomatillos that fell last year. The little papery shells were still holding together with all the little sprouts coming out!
Again, love your videos. Thank you. Blessings
I was able to plant some things and have some things growing inside from seed in FL last month. I am now away visiting my husband who is temporarily station in Korea w/the Air Force. My college aged daughter is house sitting & watching my plant babies. Last night I had a nightmare that they had all of my seeds out, opened, and was handling/playing with them. Hahaha Gardening is no joke! Lol
Hey, Becky, have you ever watched Garden Answer here on UA-cam? I think you would really enjoy her video's. She lives in eastern Oregon. Although her growing contitions are different than yours she is so knowledgeable! Her parents own a garden center and she grew up working there and gardening chores at home.
Hi Becky you are always so happy when you are in the garden just love to watch 😊
I’m so happy to see some garden videos from you again! I can’t eat the kind of food you cook, but love your garden, preserving and project videos.
Get 16 gage copper wireAmazon and wrap around bamboo poles and place in beds. Plants will double in size from the Aether energy in our atmosphere...
Use chop stix in pots and starters!!!
Have you tried this ? Heard about it a few weeks ago and wanted to see if it actually worked. I have hundreds of plants and can be expensive for it fail
Yes worked great last year!
@@debjarvie-sexton1609 thank you !
Hey Becky, I just finished making you Bechamel sauce for our lasagna tonight I'm so excited to try it tonight. Your videos inspired me to go out of my comfort zone :)
I would highly encourage you to try the soil method with your sweet potatoes. In my experience, it is quicker AND you don't have to root the slips afterwards. The slips will already have roots attached to them when you separate them from the sweet potato. I've been using this method for the last four years and it's awsome!
Hi Becky, I can't wait to see your garden this summer. I have 11 great grandchildren seeing children enjoying and running around exploring is the greatest fun. I know your little one has a wonderful place to be a adventurer.
Another video I missed on release! Thank you for creating it!
You should put a utility sink in the grow room where hose is
You’ve absolutely smashed the ‘more flowers’ objective for this years garden. Can’t wait for late summer to see all your colourful flower beds.
I purchased Vermont seeding starting mix and I have such an incredible sprouting rate. My tomatoes are already 12 inches in only three to four weeks. I look forward to every video you make.
Hi Becky, nice to see you, and your plants look wonderful. From Debbie T.
Becky, you literally are beaming in the garden!!!
Dahlias are so much fun. I have used "old" potting mix with those time released pellets "breaking down" many many many many many times and it's always fine.
I am so excited for you. I can't wait to see your flowers blooming in your garden this year.
Love the garden videos! I agree that being outside and gardening is good for one’s mental heath! Hugs from Iowa!
Please note: when using rooting hormone make sure you get some on the joint where the plant will be sending out the roots, not just the end of the stem.(Minnesota Farmer’s Market bedding plant grower)
Your grow room is so beautiful and organized!
Becky, I was Facebook page and saw a post about how video and I do not want to take the bad comment to heart you are a great person and a great mom so with that just keep doing videos the way you do them I am a guy and I understand they way your doing so please don't change I know your doing the way you need to do it so keep going and you do you
The soil method is very productive in my experience. I used Costco organic sweet potatoes with the soil method last year and I grew more slips than I needed and gave a bunch away!
Thank you for sharing your garden , I’m so excited to get all the things planted , so far just onions and transplanted my strawberries. Getting all my garden beds prepped now .
Hello Becky … Just love your videos, living my garden life through you. I don’t have a garden, I am going to grow cucumbers in our indoor porch (it’s like a greenhouse in the summer, so hot)😂
i love how your February has 31 days ;-) uppotting takes up so much more room, but isn't it exciting?
to see all the things get into gear?
Lol oops! They have exploited since up potting them
3:51 Hi Becky, I think you are incredible !!! Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and skills🙏
great video Becky planting season the plants are looking really healthy which is good news. i am sure they will do well. love to all xxx
Just a quick FYI hint from another channel, on dealing with gnats:
1) From City lot gardening - after planting seedlings, top the soil with 1/4 to 1/2 of fine silica sand. It prevents the fungus gnats from setting up shop in the soil.
2) From provident preppers - using a dilute neem oil solution will kill any gnats.
