The one bootcamp saying "Ein deutscher Helm fällt nur einmal" - "A german helmet is only dropped once". Everytime one of us dropped it, to protect the layers inside the helmet and to convey the message of a soldier falling only once with his helmet.
Love this helmet. Found mine a few years ago unissued with cover at a surplus store while on vacation in Gettysburg Pa. No other helmet in my collection fits as comfortable as this one👍🏻
It is a great helmet indeed! I only ever had a swiss one (I'm a sgt in the swiss armed forces) but as far as I can see in your vid it is very similar. It adjusts very well to your head and is still comfortable with ear protection or NVG. It must be good because we are upgrading the entire gear to the new MBAS system except for the rifle (sg 550) and the helmet!
@@carters3607 It is very similar. The main differences are on the chin strap which looks a bit more modern. There is also a very practical little hook or ring at the back of the helmet to attach it wherever you want; on you belt or your backpack for instance. Other than that the most obvious difference is the cover which attaches completely differently, has a tighter fit, a velcro for the rank and obviously is in TAZ 90 camo. There is also some kind of a band all around so you can attach branches and leaves for camouflage if needed.
Had a buddy who served (I hope to get in this year) he had his changed because it was out of date. Sadly the Bw isn't a fan of giving out old helmets without the proper paper trail.
Do those have the steel disks in them like the 2nd gen pasgt? So soldiers feel "safer" in them like in the USA? My gen 1 maritime is 3A and stupid light. Eventually turned that into a fast helmet so I can LARP, jk, I like goggles and wearing glasses so I dont have to worry about eye pro
Actually, yes there is a law that forbid extremist symbols in Germany but the m17 stahlhelm isn't particularly forbidden its more likely when you can go around it, do it. Ps. Sorry for the bad English I am German
This helmet does resemble a Stahlhelm, but it's mostly because it's a good and effective design for a combat helmet. I doubt they would make a modern kevlar version of an actual Stahlhelm to avoid any association to WW2.
As far as i know you should be able to just fine as most Nato camo covers are compatible with other nato helmets except maybe something like the british mk7 helmets
Dude you need to try to start making reproductions of the us m1917 uniform Because I was going through your site and I took time to realize that the uniforms you make are for uncommon reanactors that do that era im not saying take it off but I’m saying if you add that you could make more of a profit
Thanks for the solid advice. I sold them for years and barely anyone bought them. Not worth my time......But hey, someone's always giving out free business advice right?
And never forget: "Ein deutscher Helm fällt nur einmal!" (A german helmet only falls ones.) A saying used by instructors to remark the idiots who weren't able to properly fasten their helmet to their uniform.

In germany it is also called Angstmützte
Feldmütze knitterfrei.

Since you've seen the swiss version what are the differences between yours and the German version?

I have one of these, the liner is extremely comfy, only problem I've had is finding a flecktarn cover that isn't really worn out.
It's noisy tho the plastic liner squeaks when you move. Or is there a solution for that?
I've got a Czech Schuberth its blue with UN peacekeeper markings and a name on it. Its very comfortable and one of my favorite helmets.
Indonesia used these, there they called them the PASGT, by Armorguard lite, despite it being obviously a B826 copy.
PASGT isn't a copy of the Gefechtshelm, it's an original design and it came before the gefechtshelm
@@nickysimi9866 PASGT is a copy of the original german stalhelm though ;)

With the whole crisis going on, it could get difficult to join this year, at least in the first half. Anyway what do you plan to do? FWDL, or SaZ?
I got one from a german vet who sod his old stuff. It’s from 1998 Induyco. I guess they still made it for Germany back in 1998
In Belgium it’s getting replaced by OPS CORE
But a lot are still used in non-combat units
Mike do you have the Serbian Mile Dragic version of the PASGT helmet
I actually do have one on the way thanks to my Patreon supporters.
@@MikeB128 thats cool will you make a video about it?
@@andrejapaunic4761 Probably.
@@MikeB128 i hope it arrives soon
I rate nien out of ten
I know I’m late but where can I find one in the U.S?
Can you do more stupid gun myths?
Stupid gun myth: silencers make the gun weaker
Srry if my grammar is trash i speak spanish
I have the Flectarn cover on my WZ 2000, I have been looking for one of these in medium 57

I wish they would just make it a Stahlhelm or is it illegal for their helmets to look like the Stahlhelm nowadays?

Hey mikey b by any chance i can fit german helmet cover on ach helmet or psgt helmet?
As far as i know you should be able to just fine as most Nato camo covers are compatible with other nato helmets except maybe something like the british mk7 helmets
Would the Schuberth 3 point chin strap fit (or be converted to fit ) an M40/55 helmet ??
Cool video. Are you going to do a video with inrange-tv?
Why would I do that?
Mike B 3 hours of gun or helmets, it be awesome
Complicated? Different? Somehow genius and works amazing for the soldier? Sounds pretty fuckin German.
Do you know where I can get polish equipment
Great to keep it on topic, thanks for that. But yes, I sell a lot of Polish stuff at www.mikesmilitaria.com
I think its getting replaced by the Ops-Core in German service. I've seen Panzergrenadier units use Ops-Cores with their IDZ kit.
Also, I think Schuberth stopped manufacturing it recently. It's not found on their website.
indonesian armed forces also use it during the aceh insurgency
Do you have some in UN colours?
No

I had to pause the video. I own serial number 2570. That’s one off of yours.
Really? Holy shit.

You would fasten the helmet to your Koppel (webbing) and not your uniform.
I have two of these.
