I’m excited to go into the Air Force, but I’ve always known I’ve wanted to be an author. I don’t want to give up on that. Still, I can’t stay where I’m at, working at food service and doing the same thing over and over and over.

Coughin Cat I don’t think it’s that deep
When I did the Obstacle Course it was raining it was about 45 degrees we only had on our BDU’s with no field coats, gloves or snow cap. It was about six hours of hell. Sand in every crevasse soaking wet my face felt like it had been scraped off, when I was done it literally took me 15 minutes to unbuckle my belt because my fingers were frozen. I still have that video on VHS!
When it gets cold I think back to that day and it is no longer too cold!

You’ll have to swim a little to get out and it is pretty deep. Over my head at 5’3”

The trick on MREs is to ask for the kosher meal. It is known for being the most fresh and are very popular

Thanks for doing a great job detailing your experiences at basic. I went in 1988, when it was only 6 weeks. I happened on your videos when I was doing some research for my son who is looking into the Air Guard. I was curious as to the changes and if it got a little softer over the years. Your videos made me remember so many details about the experience that I had. It is such a great, life altering experience for someone to have. Best of luck with your career!!!

Awesome video Airmen, watching your videos has opened my eyes I must say. Being in the Army and being Infantry I always had this belief that Air Force Basic was really easy and didn’t take much effort. Thank you for opening my eyes and showing me how wrong I was. Keep aiming high sister I have very high hopes for you in your Air Force career so don’t let me down. You got this sister you can take anything life throws at you so grab life by the belt and kick it in the ass and succeed beyond expectation.

I actually LOVE MRE's, I got to eat a ton of em when Hurricane Maria stuck here in Puerto Rico, it's the only thing I miss about that hurricane, but I can live without them for now as long as it means no more hurricanes lol
I graduated bmt about 2 weeks ago, MOPP gear sucks in the summer. We got lucky and only went to level 4 twice but it was black flag almost all week
Oh I can’t even imagine going through those exercises in the summer.
Could you do an updated packing list? Like things you wish you would've brought, things you wish you hadnt, how much to bring of certain things etc? Or a video on how to prepare physically for BMT? Also, wow I have a lot of questions, what kind of qualifications do you need to be an honor graduate?

Airman Willis, what I TRULY appreciate about your vids is you don't try to make BMT something that it wasn't. The Marines have "beast week" it's called recruit training, 13 weeks worth.
As for MREs, I think you would have hated C-Rations! Yes, I'm a way old guy, '75 - '81!
Beast week was fun but cold as hell. The combatives was the fun one and two of my flight mates scrapped like crazy.

Everyone goes straight to tech school and RAP is something everyone can do after tech school.

Okay so, I'm super excited about beast week now. Thank you! Lol that honestly seems like fun... Lmao camping, fighting, and having heavy gear and gas mask seems remind me of firefighting. So I'm not as terrified lol 😂
Oh yeah combatives was fun as hell when I did beast week. Especially like having other squadrons wanting to fight you and trash talking. The females in my beast week were going in and 2 of my flight members scrapped like crazy.
When I went through BT in 1985 it was only six weeks long and there was no "beast week". I guess things have changed. Had obstacle course (oops... I mean confidence course) one day. It was fun.

To be honest. It’s almost unbelievable, how beautiful she is. I’ve been legitimately impress at how good someone looks. I wouldn’t even date someone this pretty. I’d spend the whole time being insecure thinking I’m not good enough.

341’s did you have to give those to a TI for being stupid? That was how it was when I was in Basic. The TI’s were ruthless when I went through Basic!

I went in the winter and it was freezing so, no desert life!
Thank goodness for that! I am shipping out on Tuesday so Beast Week for me falls in the middle of December

I did beast week earlier than you around late January but had one day off because it was a Holiday. So I only went 4 days on beast week. When did you graduate BMT?
If entering BMT as an e-1, can you leave as like an e-2 or something or does your rank HAVE to be determined with your recruiter beforehand? I took some college classes in high school and I was hoping that it would give me a higher rank. (Just graduated)
Your rank has to be determined with your recruiter beforehand. I believe you need 24 credit hours to enter as an E-2 but I could be wrong. A recruiter can answer that question better than I can. :)

They changed the schedule. No more airmens week, they intersperse it as Airmens Time throughout training, final testing is week 6 including gas chamber, and then BEAST week 7.

Can you have a cell phone at any time during the whole training week?
Cell phones are an earned luxury, usually allowed for a 5-15 min phone call on Sundays if, and only IF, your MTI(s) allows it. Work hard and do as your told, you get your phone for a call home.
At least that's my understanding. I guess we'll find out how true that is when the time comes. 😅
