i like seeing people that still relax their hair. i swear ppl started going natural bc it was a trend but went back to relaxing bc it has too hard to take care of. relax her requires less time and maintenance compared to natural hair

Yeah and people still crucify relaxed hair like it can’t be healthy or it’s self hate when it’s just…hair lol. I was natural my entire life and just relaxed a couple months ago to try it out. Sumn different yknow?

Not true. Relaxed hair takes real maintenance as well. If you want to keep the hair on your head you will need to work for it. That’s such a misconception

Depends on the style, length and density of hair.
My relaxed hair couldn’t handle blow dryers and flat irons, so I had to roller set and it was waist length. Wash day was 6 hours (wash, detangle new growth, deep condition-2 hrs, set rollers-1 hr, dry hair-3 hrs). I did this weekly until I just couldn’t anymore.
But my natural hair? Wash “day” is 1.5 hrs at the most, usually less (Wash, detangle, deep condition-45 min, define waist length hair 30 min). If I’m doing a twisted style, it’s a total of two hours.

I love your channel so much btw, one thing I must mention is do not be afraid of shedding hair it is going to happen I also had bleached hair when I became relaxed and the amount of hair I shed was unreal, but just keep trimming and keep your hair healthy avoid heat until all the blonde hair is gone and shedding will go, trust the process

I used a mild protein deep conditioner the week after this and it helped the shedding SOO much! But you’re right - I’m used to shedding a lot with my natural hair but with it relaxed I was scared

Im sp used to having my hair relaxed incorrectly that ive been scared for 15 years to try relaxers again but I think im convinced. I mean, hey, if it doesn't work, I can shave it all off and start over lol

You only need cool water when you are rinsing out the conditioner as the last step. You are closing your cuticles when you rinse with cool water after shampoo and the first conditioner. You need the cuticles open, so the deep conditioner can penetrate especially since you are not using a hooded dryer.

Persons get heat damage because of using it incorrectly. But you can consider rollersetting as a non direct heat method to dry your hair.

Conditioner to semi-permanent dye. Too much conditioner will dilute it too much, so add it gradually. People have done it for years. There’s even a handful brands that sell color conditioners if you’re not comfortable mixing it yourself.
