I laughed out loud when you said that you'd used 8 charm packs and then found 8 charm packs!! I guess we all have that "problem"! Love your videos!! Thank you!
I started to tidy my sewing room and found so many charm packs that I was in shock 😮 I don’t even remember buying some of them, but am so pleased I did. Mind you, it doesn’t stop me from lusting after the ones that are being featured right now!
That 2-ruler trick for the squares is really clever. I’m never confident that 2 1/2” is really the halfway point on a charm square, and with the second ruler you know. Bravo!
18:44 -- "I had a lot of fun playing around with the setting." -- I'll say! Thank you for providing a visual of the numerous layout options from one block variation. 🤩🤩
Wow! I am a beginner with my Mom sending me your amazing videos! Mom is more advanced in her quilting sending those videos she continues learn from. Thank you for sharing your skills of beautiful artistry!
Enjoy the sound of your voice; it has an encouraging lilt in it, and doesn't drone on incessantly. (Ha! I needed spellcheck on that last word!) I love how you took the time to show alternate patterns. I, too, Love, Love, Love the secondary patterns! The way you break down the steps makes it look much easier to tackle. Right now, I am researching how to make coordinating Christmas quilts for my Hubby's sisters. I want to use precuts so I have so many more fabric choices. I picked the same pattern for both, and want to mix some of the same fabrics in each one. One sister loves red, the other loves purple. I am so excited about this idea, as I don't think they have ever really had matchy or coordinating "Sister" things. I also need easier projects, like this, so I can actually FINISH them! Thanks so much for such great videos.
These quilts are fantastic! You could make several with different layouts and no one would realize that the blocks are all the same. This would also make a great two color quilt.
There are times when I end up purchasing one layer cake instead of several charm packs because I know that 4 charms make up one layer cake - and I dint mind the cutting😁.
I love watching your videos, even if I don't have the precuts to make them. You always make me want to go cut yardage from my stash just so I can try your ideas. LOL
I, too, like your 2-ruler trick. Sometimes you will find charm packs aren't the same size??? But that trick will work great. Love this series! You are AMAZING!!
Thank you for showing all the different block layouts as well as the quilt layouts. It always amazes me how differently the quilt looks when you change the layout.
I LOVE the series you’ve been doing with precut sized strips and charms. It gives me SO MANY ideas for future projects. And honesty it makes it easier for me to spontaneously buy charm packs since I know I can just add a background in and make something in the future. And that table runner! I have soooo many ideas now. ❤
Such a fun series, I love these blocks and the options definitely going to try and find 8 charm squares in my stash lol as if I’ll have a problem, like you I’ll find them in my tidying up 😂😂😂
You make me want to stay home from work and sew! ❤ 😂 Thank you for all the tips. When you love a fabric line, but just want a little to play with, a charm pack is wonderful.
Love your ideas of cutting the shapes after , it is really less confusing and we can save time. Thank you so much for sharing your interesting technic.
You do such a great job with the videos! I so appreciate your tips on cutting and sewing - very efficient! Im learning g so much. Thank you for all your hard work! I love these videos and the ones with 2 1/2" strips.
I love the versatility of this quilt! So many options!❤😊

I absolutely love watching your videos. You are organized and don't fill your videos with irrelevant rhetoric, but stick to explaining your construction techniques and design thoughts while demonstrating what you are doing. Your voice is calm and pleasant and your speech is not filled with um's, uhh's, so's, etc as so many videos are. I also like that you share links to products you are using and why you are. Another feature I appreciate is your explanation of shortcuts you find useful when constructing your quilts. I'm looking forward to more videos using charm squares. Wonderful job!
🤩 What a fantastic video! I loved how they were smaller sized projects. I have many 5” square packs. Now I have some great ideas on what to make with them. Thank you.
This is why I watch your videos. So detailed and such creativity!!! The second I seen the last layout, I thought; that's the one and the next second; you say this is the one you picked. Now I can't wait to start this, good thing I live alone cause it's 11 at night and sometimes I just can't help myself. So Hello from Michigan, take care and God bless.
The creative part of me that loves making pretty things wants to make this in all of the layouts shown at the end. The lazy part of me is going "screw all that cutting, yo!" 😂
I love these quilts and the 2 ruler trick was a bonus. New to quilting so, I’m still in the learning stage and appreciate videos like this one. Thanks Queen.
This is an amazing video! The possibilities seem endless, and I’m going to start by cutting my layer cakes into 5” squares to make several. My first will be like your final layout with the dark background. LOVELY!
You could cut your layer cake into 4 charm packs if you want ×4 matching too. Do you have fat quarters to tackle next? Hunks of "cut into" yardage, or do you have left over strips from all your 108" backings? Could you try mega size log cabin quilts, with one block, or only 4? They could filter down into your boxes if you cut them into pre-cut sizes too? If you made some design boards, you could stack up sizes as you go on separate boards. You have "stick to it-ivness". Those sorted 2 1/2" boxes were a huge resource at the start. Well done with taming all of that, it looks much more manageable now, and you will get these charm packs under control too. Do you ever make mug rug and bowl cosy sets out of charm squares, to sell in your shop? How about a 4-patch rug with mini and alt charms for home? Not everyone sews, so many look for gifts. Don't take on too much though. I made a string and black "can get greasy" 1 layer spread with clipped raggy seams, out of gaberdine to put over the bed, so a person with a grotty job can rest before a shower. Without messing up the bed. Somebody has to do those jobs or we all are in trouble. How many cars would die without mechanics? All the best.
Thank you for sharing your skills and thoughts as you demonstrated the patterns, layouts, and possibilities of secondary patterns.❤ Unfortunately I am unable to select a favourite one as I liked most of them.😂
Such variations! And using 2 rulers ti measure & cut the 5” squares is genius!! Always a good idea to measure precuts prior to using, not all are exact sizes as stated.Thank you for a great video💕🧵
I'm new to quilting, and your video is so helpful. Thank you! For the first time in 50 years, I am thinking of retiring my grandmother's treadle machine and getting a new one.
The newer ones are made of plastic and computer chips. Get yourself a singer featherweight. Does only straight stitches but will take you another 50 years of quilting
@anitaznoy2807 thank you for replying so quickly. And thank you for the information. I'll be looking for that machine. Unfortunately, at 77, I can only hope I'll be quilting for another 50 years. 😉
I have a wedding gift quilt to make by October - - you just changed what it is going to look like! Thank you! Just in case you are wondering - - the colors are emerald green, a neutral, with a touch of rust ...
I laughed out loud when you said that you'd used 8 charm packs and then found 8 charm packs!! I guess we all have that "problem"! Love your videos!! Thank you!
Right?!
Beautiful. Nice job 😊
I have more charm packs, jelly rolls and layer cakes than I realized when I was looking for some civil war reproductions for a guild BOM👍👍😁😁😁
I started to tidy my sewing room and found so many charm packs that I was in shock 😮 I don’t even remember buying some of them, but am so pleased I did. Mind you, it doesn’t stop me from lusting after the ones that are being featured right now!
We need quilters anonymous 😅
That 2-ruler trick for the squares is really clever. I’m never confident that 2 1/2” is really the halfway point on a charm square, and with the second ruler you know. Bravo!
I agree, super clever
18:44 -- "I had a lot of fun playing around with the setting." -- I'll say! Thank you for providing a visual of the numerous layout options from one block variation. 🤩🤩
😊😊
Wow...what amazing versarility! Thank you for reviewing the process!
I love the secondary patterns. Simple pieces making multiple combinations. Yeah!
Wow!
I am a beginner with my Mom sending me your amazing videos!

I don't know how you do it all! But, I'm so glad you take the time to share. Thank you.
I just can't believe all of those layouts. WOW!!! Super fantastic!!
I know right!
En español porfavor
These quilts are fantastic! You could make several with different layouts and no one would realize that the blocks are all the same. This would also make a great two color quilt.
There's something about a pile of sliver trimmings that makes my heart happy.
Mine to!
There are times when I end up purchasing one layer cake instead of several charm packs because I know that 4 charms make up one layer cake - and I dint mind the cutting😁.
Good to know, I hardly ever buy precuts, except for fat quarters, so I didn’t realize that.
It usually ends up cheaper this way, too!
Beautiful quilt and fun pattern.
I love watching your videos, even if I don't have the precuts to make them. You always make me want to go cut yardage from my stash just so I can try your ideas. LOL
Love the video, as always. You did a great job showing options, choosing fabric, and explaining what you did. Thank you!
Yay! Another installation in the charm square series!!! Am loving this series as much as your one for jelly rolls. THANK YOU!
I love this! So many options! Will add this to my “want to do” pile 😊
Your work is amazing. It's inspiring, thank you
So many different layouts!! I would not have the patience to try all the possibilities so thank you for doing that...I can chose ond from your ideas.
I was over joyed with how many layouts she got too.

I love the Jacob's Ladder block.
I, too, like your 2-ruler trick. Sometimes you will find charm packs aren't the same size??? But that trick will work great. Love this series! You are AMAZING!!

Thank you for sharing this delightful charm pack quilt idea. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. ❤️
This looks like a fabulous scrap buster! So simple, but so many options!
It’s amazing how many combinations you can make with charm packs. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and skills.
Such a fun series, I love these blocks and the options definitely going to try and find 8 charm squares in my stash lol as if I’ll have a problem, like you I’ll find them in my tidying up 😂😂😂
So many options for the quilt pattern and such a neat idea! Thanks so much for the video!
Your organizational skills are exceptional. Clever streamlining , also.

I like that blue and light colors with random bits of other colors
You make me want to stay home from work and sew! ❤ 😂 Thank you for all the tips. When you love a fabric line, but just want a little to play with, a charm pack is wonderful.
My favourite of all your videos, and I enjoy them all. I so enjoyed your playing with design and color layouts.
I like the table runners, too!
Did you mean table runners?
That reminds me of Jacob's Ladder blocks. Nice, so many possibilities.
Your blankets came out beautiful but I must admit, I love the runner option. Thank you for sharing!
What a fun block. So many options for layouts. Thank you for your detailed videos.
I loved watching your creative process! Just had surgery, so I’m a watcher rather than a doer right now. Keep up the great videos!
I think this might be my favorite one yet
Oh OK I see the finished project now gorgeous I love it. Thank you for the help to keep them coming.❤

Amazing & awesome quilt and video. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️🙂
Also a great idea about cutting yardage for charm squares - those charm packs have become close to $12/each!!!
They are even higher now $15-24
I have a friend who is just starting to quilt. I recommended your site because you give easy to follow instructions. Thank you for all you do.

This was a fun and inspiring video. Thank you so much for sharing.
I enjoyed seeing all the variations for layout.
It's interesting how switching the placement of the dark and light fabrics gives very different looks to the finished blocks.
I love these quilts and the 2 ruler trick was a bonus. New to quilting so, I’m still in the learning stage and appreciate videos like this one. Thanks Queen.

What a fun episode and I lave the various ways to lay out the blocks. Nice work!
I love your final choices so much. I just love this series. Thank you!
All of these different arrangements is so amazing!!

Great ideas!
I love this idea. I may try it using a layer cake and cutting them into 5 inch squares.
Love all these ideas. The quilts are beautiful!!
So beautiful!
Thank you for sharing your skills and thoughts as you demonstrated the patterns, layouts, and possibilities of secondary patterns.❤ Unfortunately I am unable to select a favourite one as I liked most of them.😂
Beautiful, very clear instructions, fun video to watch 😊
Such variations! And using 2 rulers ti measure & cut the 5” squares is genius!! Always a good idea to measure precuts prior to using, not all are exact sizes as stated.Thank you for a great video💕🧵
That was a lot of information. Thank you.
Beautiful day off to get to see your tutorials thanks
Amazing how a simple block can made a dramatic quilt. I really like your light/dark diagonal layout. Another great video.
