Never ceases to amaze me..the depth and breadth of Joe's encyclopedic music knowledge is unmatched. Just fascinating to listen to him..he's like a kid in a candy store and is the genuine article.
To be honest, he is not my favourite person. When Steve Clark was still alive, he was a major contributor to the songwriting in the band, and I have seen interviews where Jo states this himself, saying that Steve wrote most of the music. In the period since Steve died, Joe has minimised his contribution to the band more and more, eventually making some quite nasty and unnecessary remarks about someone who was supposed to be a very close friend. I don’t know why he feels the need to contradict statements he has made before and almost denigrate Steve, just not nice. A good human being would not feel the need to do this. He certainly has a very healthy ego. Sav has always seemed to me the one who misses and grieves for him the most, not Phil nor Joe.

Joe Elliot is a die-hard collector of all things music bordering on madness probably. Def Leppard's own vault is massive with so many gems safely tucked away that they will remain relevant for a very long time. He's very scholarly indeed.

I was never a die-hard DL fan. Yes, I bought the Pyromania and Hysteria CDs back in the day...in fact I'll put one or both CDs in my Sony 5 disk changer once in a while. Okay, but why _not_ release Diamond Star Halos during the pandemic? Once live music and comedy were back after the lockdown, there were a lot of artists who'd skyrocketed in popularity because some fans had more time to devote to paying attention to entertainment during the lockdown. I wonder why they didn't want to release an album when people had more time to listen to it? Edit: Who is this interviewer? She's great. Her style is so conversational.
