Thanks for watching, everybody! To those of you asking in the comments - the words WHERE and WEAR have exactly the same pronunciation, which is why I didn't mention WEAR in the video. Stay safe x

Very helpful, thanks 😌 if you're ever struggling with the topic for a lesson, there's one thing I can't quite catch in British English pronunciation which is the kind of a 'softened' consonant before - o and - oo in words like 'going', 'look', 'good', maybe even in 'no' (compared with 'nut' for example).
It seems different from the hard consonant in 'mood', 'gosh' etc.
Or these are just personal variations 🤔
This sort of a question) thanks again

I’m a native speaker from the metro New York area and I have to say I was confused about the words were & where when I was in high school (I didn’t even realize about we’re at the time). I asked my sister who was 3 years older and I looked up to & she was wrong. In our defense when we were growing up we weren’t really taught English grammar too much as long as we could write creatively that was more important than proper spelling or grammar - writing creatively was more the focus many of our teachers were more counter culture and rejecting the strictness from the 1950s.
