So everyone is paying $20 spectator fee to see YOU and YOUR trucks and you decide to show up at NOON to a show that ends at 5? When its posted the cut off is noon.
Most large shows have vendor and feature vehicles set up the day before the show starts that way everything is in place when the crowds start showing up. It took maybe an hour and a half to look at every vehicle and that's if you took pics too. So plenty of people came and left before you even got there.
Of course its about $ it isn't cheap to put on a show this size at a venue like this. The permits and security and porta pottys and insurance plus marketing. Promoters wana walk away with a profit after and turning people away doesn't help them do that so maybe next time arrive before the cut off time.
The reason these shows have cut off times is because there are tons of people walking around and having vehicles driving around is a liability so its much better to have everyone in place.
On the flip side we showed up on Sunday and there wasn't even any check in and trucks were driving all over so I get the frustration with disorganization but then you are complaining about the rules they actually enforced which I gathered was more of the facility staff than event staff?
Plus side is with a click bait society is when you create your own drama ya get more views to fund more trucks...

@O. Justin nah we came up Saturday night from Ga and attended Sunday. Heard about all the drama but the lot was still full of show trucks and spectators on Sunday even though everyone only came to the show to see Gabe lol.
What you described about how the shows are run today is exactly where America is going. It's about money and furthermore it's about power. Gone are the days where you can do anything nice and not have to spend an arm and a leg

Honestly why I’ve gotten away from the truck scene. It’s all about money now a days. I’ve spent so many thousands of dollars trying to build something fun and cool just to go to shows and someone say it’s not good enough because I didn’t start out with a 85-100k truck. Shit just ain’t as fun as it used to be

Every show is a contest to measure ones accomplishments on a build with what they have been given or purchased. The crowds measure fame and fortune by possessions. Sadly the event owners know this and profit greatly. Having the biggest, tallest, loudest, shiniest, drives the profits up every show. Remember, most of these event organizers do not have jobs outside of the show..... The masses have to stop showing up to these glorified blacktop parking lot events for paid for trophies. Clout chases shows, and shows chase money.

You wont have any problem unless you show up after the specified gate time, demand you’re let in for the booth that isn’t yours, and then have your friend yell at the security guards.

That sucks things went down the way they did. That was my first truck show. Me and my buddies drove down from Peoria, IL. We had a blast. We had a few minor run-ins with staff ourselves. The Music City Showdown staff was good. We rolled up there early afternoon on Friday. The barefoot dude on the golf cart just waved me right on in. I hadn’t paid a dime at that point. Parked…found the MCS tent and got all of my stuff taken care of. We stayed at the hotel right across the street, so we left our trucks at the show the whole weekend. We had been walking in and out the main entrance the whole time. Saturday night, we left to get something to eat before the concert. We get back and try to walk through the main gate to go to our trucks and grab chairs quick. Our trucks were right inside that gate. They wouldn’t let us in that gate and made us walk all the way down to the corner so we could walk in a gate with a metal detector and get nearly strip searched. Keep in mind, we were going to our truck that were already in the gate and could have God-knows-what in them as they didn’t check a thing. Today was the best though. We walked to the same gate we had been going through the whole weekend. They now make us walk through a metal detector and they have some goober walking around all the trucks with a mirror like he’s looking for an escaped prisoner under every truck. Just out of curiosity, my buddy asked if there was a threat made or something. The lady that was doing the metal detector said “nope, we always do this”. Apparently, they forgot to show up for work on Friday and Saturday (by far, the busiest day). All the issues we encountered were with the stadium security staff. Not the least bit impressed with their BS hoops they make you jump through, acting like they’re super safe. The actual Music City crew treated us good.
