The obvious link between diet and mental health is SO underrated. Mind you, I can understand why neurologists aren't interested because it will put a dent in their bank balances!

No, they just aren't aware. My dad was a neurologist, he would have jumped at this if he had known . Having Tourette's is akin to being a leper. It causes great distress and misery.

I would suspect that as a whole eating me would damage the world less than the standard american or vegan diet. Less hospital stays etc.

I have been transitioning to a carnivore diet in the past few months due to sudden joint pain and swelling. Thankfully I found a functional medicine doctor who is addressing my nutrition deficiencies and is a proponent of a carnivore diet. I’ve had great results in a short time period. In speaking with my doctor about my family, my son with Tourette’s and OCD was brought up. She was the first to suggest it could be related to diet so he just had some blood work and I’m working on increasing his meat intake and cutting out processed foods. I’m looking forward to seeing where this takes us.

Good for her. My dad was a neurologist, and he was always distressed about Tourette's because there was little he could do. What a shame he is not here to hear this. Amazing story. I cannot believe these parents, choosing their vegan religion over the health of their child.

I used to believe humans were infinitely adaptable and clever enough to make any dietary choice work but eventually realized we're constrained by the physiology we inherited from our ancestors. We have to be what we are. Michael Eades has some excellent UA-cam lectures on what exactly ancient peoples ate and the sometimes horrific consequences of their dietary choices.

They would come up again during high levels of stress but other than that ive felt so much better. i'm not perfect at carnivore and I notice when I step away from the carnivore diet my twitches get worse. It's probably not just the nutrients that are readily available in the animal products. It's also the elimination of foods that exacerbate any health conditions like plant toxins and the elimination of processed food. Some people find it hard to utilize nutrients, detoxify their bodies and other bodily processes, like clearing up amines and methylation, due to genetic differences.

Mady should find a friend with a smoker. Smoke a nice whole brisket from Walmart (Swift Brand, better than Costco) smoked for about 8 hours. The fat is so satiating. A 15 lb brisket could last you a month of eating for about $75 dollars. I used to eat 2 lbs of ribeye per day. Now with smoked brisket, I can literally eat about 8 ounces of meat and be satiated for the entire day. The taste and satiety of smoked meat is superior to grilled steak. After smoking the brisket, slice up into individual freezer bags and freeze for later and just reheat portions each day. You won’t be disappointed. Also the flavor of the meat matures as it’s frozen and actually tastes better when reheated.

    • @camwhitman5425
      @camwhitman5425 2 роки тому +1

@@threecenters4592 it’s not that hard. You can watch videos on UA-cam. You want to use a mixture of lump charcoal and oak wood (or wood of your choice for smoking). It’s the smoke from the wood that does all of the processing/cooking of the meat, since you will have a baking stone or metal shield blocking the direct heat of the meat on the grill. You definitely want a thermometer on your smoker/grill to be able to monitor the temperature. I use a large size Big Green Egg. I’ve had mine for 18 years now. Other barrel-type smokers I had in the past, lasted about 5 years before rusting out. You want to smoke the meat at about 225 degrees Fahrenheit.

Those back in the day kids grew up, and some of them are thoroughly brainwashed.

I developed extremely severe motor/vocal tics at age 18. Never had them in my life and they've only got worse over time. I may have mold/Bartonella according to my labs but I recently did an IGE food allergy skin prick test. Every vegetable besides mushrooms caused a 5mm wheal to appear. After doing medical keto for 4 months my tics got far worse. Avocado/Brocolli/Kale/Cauliflower/Cabbage/celery & nuts were the worst offenders on my skin prick results. On keto aside from grass fed steak the rest was all green veg & almonds/brazil/walnuts etc. Giving this lion diet a shot hoping I don't get constipated. I also have a stuffed microbiome & according to my OAT test aspergillus colonization & high HPHPA, hoping the meat doesn't feed the clostridia but it's basically the only thing Im not allergic too. Funnily enough I'm not allergic to sugar so perhaps that's why I felt better before keto

Bit worried about the autoimmune/pandas theory where intercholinergic neurons are permanently damaged. But I've read countless anecdotes of people getting rid of tics after years (even decades), and the NHS even says for tourettes it disappears in adulthood for around 25% of cases. I don't see how the basal ganglia theory makes sense in that regard.

@@giselaAdM It didnt work for me unfortunately. Knocking down mycotoxins/Bartonella seems to be helping. On carnivore I was only going toilet once a week. Seems like a horrible diet for detox (toxins/metal etc are recycled in bile). Carnivore/keto at best are bandaids that don't address the root cause of chronic illness. Ketosis may help but I don't believe so as lesser bowel movements means less detox. If the diet works it's great for instant relief but it doesnt address the root cause (infections/toxins)

Wow, this girl is beautiful. On a plus, im glad she cured her tourettes. I have tourettes to but I need to go carnivore and stay on it, and il go high quality. Grass fed and finished (eat till full), maybe have some pasture raised, organic eggs, small amounts of raw milk kefir. Im also doing cerules stem enhance ultra. I bet if I do this strict for long enough, my tourettes will go away to

Religion can wreck everything. It breaks my heart to hear about parents raising children this way. I used to like the comedian Tig Notaro until she began bragging about raising adopted twin boys as vegans. In her case it didn't even seem to be for religious reasons, it was because she herself recovered from breast cancer and felt better on a vegan diet (she's an adult; more power to her). But for babies? It's well-intentioned cruelty. Hollywood seems to be its own religion.

Pork isn't as healthy to eat as beef, not as safe either. Beef is safe to eat raw (ew) or rare cooked, but who thinks that's safe to do with pork? We even look the same as pigs on the inside, similar vulnerabilities to germs & parasites, some say we taste the same, yikes, but the Bible defines healthiest foods but that people can be thankful for whatever food they can get that keeps them alive in the absence of the healthiest foods. The Bible also says that no-meat people are weak in faith for thinking it's evil to eat meat.

As much as we want to believe that the Carnivore diet caused this result, we all know that "correlation does not mean causation."
Here is a section on Wikipedia on this topic:
"Tourette syndrome is a spectrum disorder-its severity ranges from mild to severe.[85] Symptoms typically subside as children pass through adolescence.[62] In a group of ten children at the average age of highest tic severity (around ten or eleven), almost four will see complete remission by adulthood. Another four will have minimal or mild tics in adulthood, but not complete remission. The remaining two will have moderate or severe tics as adults, but only rarely will their symptoms in adulthood be more severe than in childhood."
So Mady's improvement is not unusual and may in fact not be related to diet.
