It educates, spotlights products, shows Dundee, and the historic sites of Scotland, and you have worked hard on bringing Kevy Shaves to prominence. Anyone crying about this channel transgressing into an outlet for advertisement is idiocy. Your devotees will always appreciate reviews because you deliver them with unabridged honesty. I admire that you contact the artisan when a negative issue occurs. This not only protects their livelihood, but gives them an opportunity to correct the problem. It is this thoughtfulness that sets you apart from many channel hosts. I hope that person gets a diaper change soon. I appreciate all the UA-cam wet shavers showing the different products. Your right, if you don't show these products no one will know about them. Reviews are advertisements for said products, which is why most people watch, that and the fact that the wet shavers and subscribers become good friends even if it is at either ends of a keyboard or screen. I did see the comment you mentioned on the other video and thought your comment back was well handled, I don't know that I would have been quite as polite👍🏻

Without posts like these, folk new to this 'hobby' wouldn't know what might work for them, or be able to interact for one to one advice and recommendations. It opens up endless possibilities for those looking to discover products from all over the world. Imagine posting a video of a wet shave by simply saying "I'm here to have a shave, but will decline to tell you what I am using for fear of promoting vendor's" Great stuff, even allowing for the Belgian Shave Serum.
Excellent shave sir as always, top notch lather as well. I had the Parker razor you used, I found it to be mild for me but it was good. I personally don’t agree with the other person who left a comment saying that this channel is turning to advertising channel, it’s always good to see new shaving gear. Like to you said if you need to see anything new you check on UA-cam for products reviews that’s why I do as well. And your channel never fails to show all the latest shaving gear and trust me sir we’re very fortunate for that. There are some other channel I won’t say who but they bought some gear in nineties and they are using over and over again and no signs of buying new gear. Hi Kevy. Great video, mate. I just had a shave with some TOBS sandalwood and, instead of throwing the excess down the sink, I took your advice and put it all over my face while I cleaned up. I then rinsed with cold Kent water - sorry but too far away from Scotland to use the Scottish variety. A big splash of Old Spice and wow, my face feels absolutely fantastic! It's the softest it's ever been and feels absolutely glowing! Thanks for a great vid and all the tips, mate. Please keep posting.

Hey Kevy, great video and a big thumbs up, you can always use the shave serum as a pre-shave first then also use the brush, me personally I'm not fond of creams that you can't see that's the best part of the shave is the feel of the lather and the brush so I like to see and feel the brush and the cream. it seems that A&E Serum make great lather from using the brush why not use a brush right !! Kevy I totally agree with you on the venders way of showing their products to the masses and it helps the people out making the video's so you have fresh content to show to on your channel. Also like you said so we the viewers can see how the products look and works first hand before buying it so it all a win, win situation for all ,,,, that's how I look at it !!

Wonder if he'd look at making it in a smaller bottle so it's TSA approved to take on a plane? As for show casing product from artisans, that's a big part of UA-cam shave videos. It allows us to see products before buying or even see products we have never heard about. Keep up the great content.

Yeah, my family had some crystal glasses when I was growing up. I've been told that once, when I was a wee lad, I don't think I was even going to school yet, my parents had a party and I woke up the next day before everyone else. Apparently I was thirsty because I hit all the left over glasses with very watered down drinks. When my parents woke up, they found me in the middle of the living room more than a little tipsy! Concerning the adverts: Whatever. That's one of the reasons I come to your channel, as well as others' shaving channels. I want to see a review of the products and, if there are enough glowing reviews, I might try out the product. That's how I found out about different razors, blades, soaps, creams, aftershave tonics, balms, and colognes. I'm not going to just purchase something without doing research and your channel is part of that research. I've lost count on how many times I've come back to your channel and searched for a product I might be interested in. When I find the video, I'll watch it again (because I've watched all of your videos, I think), to see how you got on with said product. Then I'll hop over to Paul's channel and Ken's channel and Sinatra's channel and a host of other channels and do the same thing. Again, that's one of the reasons I come here. Along with the craic! Sometimes I catch myself using Karve, Mergress + others in rotation only. Its alw refreshing to go back to den, use forgotten Parker tools. Not only is their plating top notch, their designs as well. The only matter I experienced, their different models shave differently. Thus it might me somewhat tricky, what shaving results to expect. Enjoy yr weekend, cheers Achim+

Kevy... great video, as always! Just one comment on the advertisement thing... there is a huge difference between an ad and a product review. An ad typically doesn’t tell you anything about the real world use of the product (just marketing buzzwords), but a review does (or should) give you real world feedback. Best analogy I can think of are food products. I never pay attention to the front of the package. It is essentially marketing (a mini ad). If you really want to know about the product, read the back and the sides... and ultimately try it. Keep up the great videos... always very informative... even when your tang gets tongueled. ;-)

Parker razors are good. But they can surely work on the threading of the top cap. handle and caps screw very awkwardly to each other which can lead to strange blade alignment at times.

I wish you would put out the video of the equipment you didn't like. Not to trash the company or try to take business away from them but to let us know what we should do more research on before we buy their product. I watched a video of another shaver here and he couldn't get done with the first pass before he had to change equipment. Didn't bad mouth the company, just said it wasn't for him and changed. After seeing that, I researched the product more and decided to pass on it mainly because of the other people reviewing it. Saved me some $$$.
I think if something gets a terrible review, it will take some time before people will trust that company again. Some of the videos I haven't put out are by one man shops. One bad review could ruin their business. And like I always say, my opinion is just MY opinion. I could say I think something is totally crap and 100 other people could disagree with my opinion. I contact the company and let them know my thoughts and recommendations privately and then at least they can decide wether to try and change things. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍
HeyNick. I'm good thanks and hope your enjoying doing good too. I would suggest the Parker 87R or the Parker 22R for mild yet efficient razors from them. Both very good and both twist to open razors. The Parker Variant adjustable on the lowest setting is quite a mild razor too. Cheers. Kevy 👍😀

I really think vendors should have their own channels. It's OK for me for them to send you some, promotional items. The problem is: there are a LOT of people on youtube who take money from companies to do promotional videos (and most do not disclose) and then there are others that just praise all items...... (and I am not only talking about shaving..... watches, pens, cars, planes, etc.... and some consumers end up wasting their money based on an unscrupulous video which is really an advertisement....).
I agree. But Peter Charcalis, has his own channel. Kevy, never, ever promoted anything to anyone, he just likes shaving, uses products and this is one of the reasons I like his channel and watch it regularly. But I agree, that many youtubers take money to promote something, sometimes really crappy. Peter's products is not one of them, trust me.
Another Goat milk product...I prefer to eat them rather then shave with them...I hate tubes of anything...you never get all the product unless you cut them open....I use the new Parker razor but started shaving with the "barn door kind" like yours....Parker has come a long way

It’s kind of ridiculous how strongly A&E are pushing their Marketing Machine. I have seen a review of A&E Shave Seerum during this week made by: IAMCBD, Shaving with Rich, Kevy Shaves, and Ruds Shaves. Lol 😂
Kevy Shaves I know Kevy and this was no disrespect at all. Just shows that these companies contact all youtubers to push their products through your reviews. It’s free advertising for them if the product is decent. More a fact than anything wrong with it 😊
My take on this is this, show case all the products they send you. I don't care. There is no way for anyone, to be able to buy them all and definitely no way to know if a product is good or crosses the line into being great without seeing the product being used, and the user giving an honest opinion. As long as you are honest and give an honest view and don't sound like your are reading off "talk points check boxes" I'll watch the channel. There were a few I used to watch that I have stopped watching because you could tell, that they as shavers, even when using a product that have obvious faults, gloss over them and try to "sell" the item to other shavers. That is when they stop being something someone giving their views, and instead parroting the vendor's talk points.
I don't think what you do is advertising in the ordinary sense of the term. When I buy a copy of the Times, Indie or Guardian, and it carries an advertisement of a Japanese or a German car that is an advertisement. The Times gets paid to carry the photo of the car, etc. By contrast, you review what you use in your shave. You don't get paid by any of the artisans, manufacturers, etc. You told us you simply express your honest view about these products. That is not what the Times do showing the photo of the Japanese car. And yes, it is good to first have an off-camera shave, in case what you've been sent is not what its makers think it is. Cheers

I wish you would put out the video of the equipment you didn't like. Not to trash the company or try to take business away from them but to let us know what we should do more research on before we buy their product. I watched a video of another shaver here and he couldn't get done with the first pass before he had to change equipment. Didn't bad mouth the company, just said it wasn't for him and changed. After seeing that, I researched the product more and decided to pass on it mainly because of the other people reviewing it. Saved me some $$$.
I think if something gets a terrible review, it will take some time before people will trust that company again. Some of the videos I haven't put out are by one man shops. One bad review could ruin their business. And like I always say, my opinion is just MY opinion. I could say I think something is totally crap and 100 other people could disagree with my opinion. I contact the company and let them know my thoughts and recommendations privately and then at least they can decide wether to try and change things. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍

HeyNick. I'm good thanks and hope your enjoying doing good too. I would suggest the Parker 87R or the Parker 22R for mild yet efficient razors from them. Both very good and both twist to open razors. The Parker Variant adjustable on the lowest setting is quite a mild razor too. Cheers. Kevy 👍😀
I'm way late to the DE shaving party but I'm trying to slowly catch up. Haha Wanted to ask your opinion Kevy. Got my Edwin Jagger in and awesome shave, but now I'm looking at either an Merkur 34c or The gunmetal Rockwell 6c for my next order. Mind telling me which of the 2 you would recommend that I get? I would recommend you get the Rockwell 6C. It's a much better razor than the 34C. Cheers. Kevy 😀

The merkur 34c is very similar in aggression to the DE89. So if you want something different i'd go with the Rockwell.

It's OK for me for them to send you some, promotional items.
The problem is: there are a LOT of people on youtube who take money from companies to do promotional videos (and most do not disclose) and then there are others that just praise all items...... (and I am not only talking about shaving..... watches, pens, cars, planes, etc.... and some consumers end up wasting their money based on an unscrupulous video which is really an advertisement....).

Kevy, never, ever promoted anything to anyone, he just likes shaving, uses products and this is one of the reasons I like his channel and watch it regularly.
But I agree, that many youtubers take money to promote something, sometimes really crappy.
Peter's products is not one of them, trust me.
Another Goat milk product...I prefer to eat them rather then shave with them...I hate tubes of anything...you never get all the product unless you cut them open....I use the new Parker razor but started shaving with the "barn door kind" like yours....Parker has come a long way

My take on this is this, show case all the products they send you. I don't care. There is no way for anyone, to be able to buy them all and definitely no way to know if a product is good or crosses the line into being great without seeing the product being used, and the user giving an honest opinion.
As long as you are honest and give an honest view and don't sound like your are reading off "talk points check boxes" I'll watch the channel.
There were a few I used to watch that I have stopped watching because you could tell, that they as shavers, even when using a product that have obvious faults, gloss over them and try to "sell" the item to other shavers.
That is when they stop being something someone giving their views, and instead parroting the vendor's talk points.

I don't think what you do is advertising in the ordinary sense of the term. When I buy a copy of the Times, Indie or Guardian, and it carries an advertisement of a Japanese or a German car that is an advertisement. The Times gets paid to carry the photo of the car, etc. By contrast, you review what you use in your shave. You don't get paid by any of the artisans, manufacturers, etc. You told us you simply express your honest view about these products. That is not what the Times do showing the photo of the Japanese car. And yes, it is good to first have an off-camera shave, in case what you've been sent is not what its makers think it is. Cheers
