Love seeing the video and your wish to save this beautiful, historical site. I hope it can remain as wonderful as it is and all of you that live in the area can enjoy it!
I was taking my kids once a week until it started getting destroyed and vandalized. Its so absolutely beautiful there. Its so sad we cant even walk through anymore. 😪
@CoronationCreation I have not but I really hope they don't destroy it. Just like with the frogs that 61 acres is home to so many animals the deer that run through there!!! Last year we did a stranger things photoshoot for Halloween there 🩷
@@heathercoppess2512 it sounds like a family has purchased the property and is wants to have the grounds open to the public during set times to enjoy the grounds and peace! It really is such a lovely property!
My family (mother, father, uncles, aunts) have been coming to this monastery to worship here since the 1940's, In fact, my uncle was a Franciscan Friar and he was "Guardian" here in the 1940's. If my memory serves me correctly, the Franciscans bought this land and used the building at the top of the hill (gone now) as a school (living quarters on the top floor, school on the second floor, and cafeteria and kitchen on the main floor) to handle the first two years of seminary because the home friary in Pulaski Wisconsin couldn't handle all the vocations that existed in the 1930's and 1940's. In the 1950's when vocations dried up, the Friary was used as a Retreat House where men came from various parishes in the area for weekend retreats. When the retreats dried up, the Friary was used as a retirement home for some of the Franciscan Fathers and Brothers. The grottos were built by the noviciates (men studying for the priesthood) and the statue in the middle of the lake was built by volunteers, men from local parishes. This place has a rich history and it will be a shame to see it become some sort of development.
This was Lourdes Friary. It is a sacred space, a beautiful space, a natural space that the Earth requires to remain liveable ...dare I say it? ...liveable for the people who would live in the homes built when the monastery is destroyed for all time. Destructive development there is insane, unsustainable, and ultimately self destructive for all but those who would take the money and run.
It's referred to as the grotto by a lot of people I've talked to in the past week or so, it probably was!! And yay for Polish relatives! I think I'm like 88% Polish or something like that lol!

Hi Lynn, love what you are doing with your family. Asking for help to share on social media a beautiful land we are attempting to secure for the kingdom. Can you help my family get it out? We do not have an online presence like you've built. Please lmk. Thank you, God bless you all❤
If anyone buys the Friary even a event place the owners aren’t going to want anyone that isn’t spending big dollars at their place wandering the grounds
hello, Franciscan Friars/Fathers sold or deeded the land to Alps Enterprises LLC in 12/2021, a property management company, the new owners took out a loan for 575k 1/20/2022. It looks like they're just flipping the monetary to 2 million which is pretty sad, unless the LLC is owned by a member of the church. 'm slightly interested in the property, I like the idea of turning it into a wedding/reception venue, but not for 2m.
Of course it can be saved. In the end, it is ALWAYS a choice. Some of the most poignant space could be the centerpiece for a sustainable community that reflects and celebrates the teachings of Popes John Paul and Benedict, which culminated in the encyclical Laudato Si by Pope Francis. It is NOT a question of money, though money and power are surely involved. It is a matter of faith, hope, and love... placed into ACTION.
Great video! I think your ideas are great for this property. I'm surprised this hasn't made the newspaper. It's listed for $2,100,000 as of today, that's how I found your video I started searching this place after seeing it for sale. I hope someone can save this place.
Thank you! I can’t believe that’s all they’re asking for it now!! I so wish I had access to that kind of money or investors, I would do it in a heartbeat and save it 💔
Thank you for your video. On thought, you referred to the Friary as 'stuff'. I think better to refer to as a beautiful Friary Coalition For Canceled Priests have Friary on Contract, to be a Home for Holy [unfairly] Canceled Catholic Priests & a Catholic Retreat Centre for Pilgrims. Lots of Financial support needed. Visit Coalition For Canceled Priests Internet Site. I realise you have met Father DuVall & already know of my comments. Have commented for other people watching your video.

What's interesting is that the Catholic Church allowed this to go this way. Js
Is this where they're going to make a new lakeside community area
Not if this group of priests can secure the land!
You have a Catholic background that lady yoj called is the blessed mother!!!!
