I used to work a day job with Tommy. He's such a sweet and low-key guy, he just casually.mentioned he was in a band one day and when I checked it out I was like wait what the fuck
Just discovered this band like 5 minutes ago after watching the stuck in a dream video. I'm really into this. Post hardcore isn't my scene at all but this sounds so original and catchy and brutal and melodic all at once. Great song writing
This is what Hardcore have to be, raw and explosive. The instrumentation is flawless and chaotic, the voice is up to what is has to be. Very talented band! 💜
I think there are some pretty solid hardcore elements here, though there is certainly a departure from the faster punk hardcore elements, and a move into a more personal/introspective style of writing, compared to the more outwardly political , Dies, which is still my favourite.
Such a fantastic band. I wish Audiotree would remix (and re-upload) the session-does Gouge Away a disservice-as the vocals are abnormally low. I’m sure the whole session is multi-tracked on a hard drive...somewhere in a closet. Maybe an audiotree intern can do the honors?
How about releasing this on CD/vinyl? And despite what a few people say, the mix is awesome. It sounds how a punk/hardcore band should sound, raw and unpolished.
wtf are you talking about? lol... Bands that actually have done what you claim are so few and far between. Bands like Fugazi or Rage Against the Machines in the 90s, or more recently Downtown Boys. This band is solid but to say they redefined "protest music" is ridiculously laughable... It's hardcore lol
@waggy3047 same darrien. havent seen you in a while... waggy Priests, False Advertising, Doe, Daddy Issues, Rut, Weakened Friends, Charly Bliss, Summer Cannibals...too many..i buy music every week it seems...
@waggy3047 you know weakened friends? thats so cool..ive become friends with them. going to my 13 WF show in less than a month...they are so cool... and wicked nice. i always talk with them..at shows and facebook...
@waggy3047 they were in europe a month or two ago and they are going back..i know they play in amsterdam for one show..i think another in france...check their facebook.
Those.. fucking... influences... "The band is influenced by post-hardcore and noise rock bands such as The Jesus Lizard, Fugazi, Unwound, The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower and Nirvana.["
Bless Thomas Cantwell. Absolutely one of hardcore's best/most interesting/highly skilled drummers. Dude is a monster.
It’s weird cause he can, well.

Agreed. Absolutely wicked drummer.

ghost always makes me shiver something good
gouge away still SLAPS. one of the best damn things in modern hardcore
This singers voice is mesmerizing. So unique and she dont give in. The whole sound of this band is sick.
Walked passed by the tent where they were playing at Ieperfest and i was like ‘WTF IS THIS?!’ I got sucked into the tent in a heartbeat.
Oh yeah, these guys are F'in good! Looking forward to the new release in March
This is what Hardcore have to be, raw and explosive. The instrumentation is flawless and chaotic, the voice is up to what is has to be. Very talented band! 💜
They aren't hardcore anymore, this is noise rock
I think there are some pretty solid hardcore elements here, though there is certainly a departure from the faster punk hardcore elements, and a move into a more personal/introspective style of writing, compared to the more outwardly political , Dies, which is still my favourite.
post-hardcore
@@SocialGore This is fucking hardcore. Stop whining about all these bullshit nuances.
I loathe attempts to categorize music into neat genres, it's boring
Anyone else finding that Christina's vocals got burried in the mix or are my cheap headphones betraying me?
I can't hear nothin of her voice
I feel like the balancing is awesome. The voice is here as an instrument and thats great !
yep you can't hear her well enough
nah they shouldve turned up the vocals just a little bit cause i had this thought too
too much snare not enough vocal!
This is so well recorded and mixed instrumentally but her vocals are super important for this band and gotta be turned up
the transition from fed up to wilt though ooof
Affaiblit and Slow Drown to Ghost... SO GOOD
Yeah gave me chills. I can’t fucking wait to see these killers live
Such a good combination of raw, hardcore energy with noises parts and great melodic structure!!
this band is so rad,the drummer is dope as well
that drummer is tight as fuuuuuck. what a good band.
Come to Brazil!
Just seen these beautiful souls live for the first time and holy fing smokes!!!

I wish they’d release these sessions on vinyl too they’d make so much dough
Just found this... and they're from my state! Cant wait to seem em live!
Gregory King floridaaaaa, I think they also formed like 45 minutes away from where I live
awesome good to see Gouge Away on this channel
the mix sounds great but they really need to have the vocals up a tad. it takes away from the energy.
Yes.
Da hora !!! Sick !!
WOW!
That rickenbacker is awesome.
Nice!
I never thought I would see the day
HOLY SHIT Audiotree is killing it with the heavy bands lately
How about releasing this on CD/vinyl?
And despite what a few people say, the mix is awesome. It sounds how a punk/hardcore band should sound, raw and unpolished.
That fill at 12:07 gave mr a chill
YES! JUST YES!
drummer killed it
YESSSSSS...so damn great to see them on this channel
I think I found a new favorite band.
Rickenbacker 650s are dope guitars

Great band!!!
Whoo! 🤘
Thank you for your service 🖖
Славная девушка. Да и ребята тоже милые.
bruh
Love these guys
Everyone is so good but the fucking drummer and lead vocalist are incredible, love this band!
Brendan Dassey on bass
So good y’all
Awesome
reminiscent of some of the old grunge material on Subpop. if Dave Grohl played on Nirvana's Bleach album, may have similar results. awesome band.
finally getting the attention they deserve
This band hauls serious azz 🤯🤘🏼🔥
Dude I am smashing the like on all of your videos
They must have gotten their band name from the Pixies song.
EXCELLENT !!!!
Niiiiiiice
Is that the drummer from Foo Fighters' little brother?
Excelente!!!! :) :)
Gouge away redefined protest music. Congratulations, guys. (Both Gouge away and Audiotree)

@@markmcgwincomedy the commenter protests, but while wearing a mask. Completely ineffective.
@@BombaclaatGatofish you say while wearing clothes. Hypothermia isn't really sheep
please get Loathe on here
fucking great drummer
I knew this band was some kind of punk because there are 9 songs and 2 interviews in 23 minutes.
😂 Take my upvote sir
Oops got lost looking for Pixies
Same here but I am happy I found this
😂 Best comment on here.
Bad mix on the vocals but otherwise this set fucking rules.
Does anyone know what kind of Marshall amps those are exactly? :)
JCM800
The drummer played in the butterfly effect.
really,the Australian band?if so that's so dope

Underrated AS FUCK

OK 👌
wish they played sweat ;(
Fuck yeah 🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
nice mix of hardcore and shoegazy noise...
Isn't Uproar actually Until Every Cage is Empty? Either way amazing stuff from Gouge Away and Audiotree again :)
Different songs, but the first record was very similar in terms of chord progressions/structure!
Thanks! @@punkmikil
Until Every Cage is Open is the song that segways into Uproar on the record.
something about their sound and style strikes me as very "1990's" in ways I can't quite put my finger on
Pixies
The Drummer is on fire 🔥 🔥 🔥
Is that the dude that played bass for Balance and Composure?
Those.. fucking... influences... "The band is influenced by post-hardcore and noise rock bands such as The Jesus Lizard, Fugazi, Unwound, The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower and Nirvana.["
Fuck yeahhhhhhh
The drummer looks like Rob McElhenney mixed with Taylor Hawkins mixed with Bill Bailey
Shut up bird
This is an extremely specific comment.
how do i fall in love with a woman who screams so fast
Vocal too quiet
Happy 420k subs
I thought I was a piece of shit for never liking female heavy singers as much until I found this band… god damn what a ferocious voice
She sounds like Amy Merritt from nausea
like before watch :)
Hardcore Lauren Mayberry
Shoulda been in color. Otherwise great. 👍🏼
I disagree. The filter is great 👍
Sound like sonic youth
It sounds like the woman is going through the McDonalds drive thru but is orderding from the passenger seat.
She’s fucking beautiful
even though some of this is derivative, i can't help loving it a lot. haha.
Hot
Whoever mixed this should be fired. No vocals, what the fuck?
the presenter cute AF
u cant hear the vocals lol.
Christina‘s a better bass player in nothing than singing here…..yikes is all you can say….I question the signing of this stuff
I like it.
Please get someone who isn't a pretentious church mouse to host the show.
Good band. Now all they need is a Lead Singer.
Leave Christina alone
