ℹ️ About this episode:
On this episode of LivinRvision, we have arrived in Arizona and are making our way today to explore an area that we missed the last time we were in this area. We’re heading to Bisbee, Arizona and its adjoined neighboring town of Lowell. In case you’re not familiar with where Bisbee is located, it is a city in the county seat of Cochise County in southeastern Arizona, 11 miles north of the Mexican border and 92 miles southeast of Tucson.
Lowell, Arizona was once a sizable mining town located just to the southeast of Bisbee. Today, it is a small neighborhood of the larger community. Mining in the Mule Mountains proved quite successful in the early 20th century and the population of this area soared.
Ride along with us on this fascinating journey as we share the rise and the fall of Bisbee, share some local food favorites and as always, have a little fun along the way! 🤠🤓
Enjoy!

BBC is a great place for breakfast. Hiking the steps in town is the best. We lived in Bisbee for 3 years…had a great time there.
I like your honesty, no sugar-coating Bisbee AZ
Watching your videos makes me laugh but it sometimes also makes me cry because I love your country and something about your travels does something in my heart that I can’t even explain. Thank you for sharing your travels….even though I can’t do it myself, I at least get to experience the magic through you 💕
That means SO much to us knowing that they mean that much to you. Thank you for sharing. 🧡😊🤓
I’ve known about Bisbee since I was a kid because my parents loved turquoise jewelry, and Bisbee turquoise is one of the most beautiful and most valuable (then and now), because it’s so rare.(the mine closed in 1980). Thanks for showing the town to us!
Thank you for sharing! 🧡
This is where I got engaged 30 years ago at the Copper Queen Hotel! love this little town
🧡😍🥰
Back in the mid 70's I served in the Navy with a fellow from Bisbee. We asked him what there was to do there, and he stated not much, and that was why he joined the Navy.
Watching this made me realize how much we missed with our children by not traveling more of our amazing country. You give us an wonderful travel experience .
Gracias por visitarnos . De Montevideo Uruguay viviendo en Bisbee por 13 años
I visited Bisbee a few weeks ago and saw some of the things you missed, and missed some of the things you saw. Had a great Ruben at Bisbee’s Table. Wouldn’t have even tried those stairs!
👍🏻 We wanted to eat there, but the wait was too long for us at Bisbee Table.
Very nice video but when you said no more sweet, you missed the best "Patisserie Jacqui " with chocolate eclairs.. 😃
True, that. Also we locals much prefer Mornings Cafe for breakfast over the Breakfast Club.
Bisbee looks like a place to add to my “soft bucket list”. Maybe when I get around to doing my “hard bucket list”, The Grand Canyon.
Only RV’ers that give a history lesson during their adventures. Love it. Always learn something. Safe travels
Small town USA makes for some of the best travel. The History is amazing. Y’all do a great job conveying the personality of Bisbee! Thanks for sharing.
Another great video. Brian, I met you in a Las Vegas Costco a couple of years ago. I follow a number of full-time couples and have learned a lot about RV's when we got our travel trailer. We also motorcycle together and went on a five day ride to Tombstone, AZ with another couple. We came into Tombstone from the south, late in the day, and we just traveled through Bisbee. Once we got to Tombstone and realized how much of a mining town tourist extravaganza it was, I wished we had spent more time in Bisbee. This video was very interesting and now I need to go back and spend some time. ***FYI, we watch youtube almost exclusively on the TV and this is the first of many hundred of videos we have watched that I have commented on. Also, my wife is a midwest, Iowa, transplant. Thank you***
I remember meeting you! Hope you are both doing well. Hopefully we can meetup again sometime in the near future.
What a cool town~ cracking up at the kids running up and down the stairs. The hiking days are a thing of the past? lol is this the first video that you have Michelle mic'd up like an NFL player?? Thanks for such a great and informative video! #seeyanextweek
😂 we definitely need to keep up with the hiking.
We’ve used the lav mic just a few times. Doesn’t work well in some situations.
🧡😊🤓
Unfortunately a fire on Main Street in Old Bisbee destroyed two buildings, recently. Thanks for the tour!
We heard about that on the news. So sad. Those two buildings were still standing in this video. We may very well had the last video of those two buildings before the fire. 😢
Thank you for sharing your experiences.
What a unique town! That was very interesting. I have never been to a place like that. Thanks for sharing. I love the background music you chose for this!
Morning coffee and a tour of Bieber. Ahhh, yes, a good start to Saturday morning indeed. I've never seen Bisbee before, so next time, we will stop by for lunch. Thanks.
Was that Michelle running up those steps? I’m impressed!
Definitely not. lol 🤓 It was a little kid.
We were in Bisbee in 2009. We also visited Puerto Negro in Mexico. While we were in the area we checked out Ft. Huachuca and remembered being stationed there in the 70s. Tombstone is not too far away. Thanks for the memories.
I have enjoyed two visits to Bisbee in the last couple of years but never learned as much about her as I did today in your 22 minute video -- although I did enjoy historic Lowell and the Breakfast Club. Thank you for sharing such a well rounded perspective of this historic town.
When I visited my brother in Tucson back in the 90-s, he took us to bisbee. I think I just learned more about bisbee from you both than I learned being there. thanks
Beautifully filmed, researched and edited!! I’m amazed how much you covered in this video, very cool 🌵👍
I need to start wearing a bib. So i don’t drool on myself, lol.
We visited it last yr accidentally and and loved the town and the music
Thanks!
🧡😊🤓
What a wonderful job you did editing this video. My husband and I enjoy you both!
🧡😊🤓
It is great to see Bisbee again. We stumbled on it a few years ago and it is one of my favorite surprises. I look forward to a future visit and having some biscuits and gravy at the breakfast club.
I am surprised to say that I have never heard of Bisbee, Az, so thank you! Way more enjoyable than all that brown rock, baron desert we see from so many who winter in Az. Rich history in such a small area.
Hello Brian and Michelle! Great to see you back out west! I am heading to Des Moines to do a post annual maintenance check flight and then bring my boss back to Telluride. And, will have 2 separate trips there in March. Also, I do get to come to Phoenix the second and 4th week of March!
I love these small towns out west! Lots of history….great scenery….and plenty of public lands surrounding them!
Haha, I said to my husband this morning.....what's up with your hair, lol.
😂
Thanks for taking us to Bisbee. I need to go and explore myself! But I ain’t taking the stairs!!! 😂
😂 good choice!
I like your choice of music. Great video, I used to live in Flagstaff, Az, have been to Bisbee.
We love Bisbee 😊 We’re wintering in Benson, and you drove right by our park on route 80 👋
You did a great job showcasing Bisbee. I would like to visit and explore it. You are such pleasant travelers.
Loved this video. Never knew this town existed!! Love watching you guys and your dynamic!! We have said repeatedly that if we were full time RVers we would be like you all!! Safe travels and can't wait for next week's video!!
Fascinating ! Thank y'all ! Safe travels !
Another great video! Thanks.
This was so fascinating! Well done.
Thanks for sharing! Another great video!!! 🤩
Bisbee !!
🎉wow🎉. Never heard of this place. Great video. Very enjoyable. 😊.
Loved the video. That pecan roll was fantastic looking. Be careful out there
I just saw online yesterday that 2 buildings burned in Bisbee.
Also, once again I would like to say nice job on the video. I especially liked how you superimposed the old street scene onto the current view. 👍🏻👍🏻10/10
Yes we also saw that on the news about the 2 historic buildings that just burned down. So sad!! We remember walking by them the day we were there. 😞
Such a cool town! I love old towns so much! I always look forward to your awesome videos! Have a wonderful day! ❤❤
Excellent video this week guys. Thanks for sharing the history and vibes of the area. Stay safe, stay well.
I had never heard of this place. Thanks for sharing!
I've never been to AZ. It may have to be a place we'll go someday. I love the street with the classic cars. That was my favorite from today.
We are in nearby Sierra Vista for a bit. It's a beautiful part of the country. Personally, Bisbee is not my cup of tea. But, I know a lot of folks like it.
Very nice tour. Take care.
Another great video! Thanks for sharing your travels! ❤❤
Definitely putting on my bucket list
Thanks for sharing
now ur in my neck of the woods. i live in whetstone...just a few miles from kartchner cavern. lol I know pretty much ur whole drive in this video. turquoise valley rv park was our very first overnight in our rv shakedown trip. we wanted to go to Bisbee queen mine rv park but they are always full.
there was a fire on valentine's night that destroyed a couple businesses u most likely passed while u were here. so sad! historic old buildings.
we moved here in 1974. just as they were getting ready to close the mine. any time we have out of town guests we usually plan a trip to tombstone and Bisbee. this area is steeped in old west history.
We were actually there before the fires. The buildings were actually shown in this video, showing it was prior to the fires. We were in Tucson watching the news when that happened. So sad. 😞
Last night on Diners, drive ins with Guy F. He was at Sherman’s and I immediately thought of you and your favorite pie.
Oh cool! 😋 🤓
Love these videos! In April we're going to be doing the reverse - driving down to Las Vegas and then over to Ft. Worth. So we're watching intently 🙂, particularly at the restaurants with gluten-free options, since Sharon has Celiac.

Very informative!
Bisbee looks like a very unique town. Did I see Michelle eat pie without her pie shirt??😲😭😭safe travels!! 😁
😂 she will eat pie with or without a shirt…wait…😳
🫣
😂
Per usual……a fabulous video! Hope to see you soon. Looks like you darn near found the stairway to heaven…😉 maybe not!
It sure felt like we did! 😂
Enjoyed seeing Bisbee through your eyes. Beautifully done. What town in Italy was your grandfather from?
Lotta Santa Lucia, Calabria
Lovely. My grands from mountain towns of Liguria.
In 2007 while on a travelling nurse assignment in Phoenix I rode my Harley to Bisbee and stayed at the copper queen hotel… it was haunted big time!!! 😱😱😱😱
I went down in the mine tour…. I got soo spooked from the hotel that I swore I would never go back there but that peacan roll may draw me back there one day 😉👍
Oh wow! We’d love to hear about what happened at the hotel.
I should write a book! 👻👍😱😉
😂 No. Love it! Bucket list for sure! Go back & get that giant cookie!!!
👍🏻🤓😂
WELCOME TO AZ!!
Hey Brian did not see the whiskers but I'm pretty sure that was a cat head biscuit🤔😂
😂
Hoping to visit Bisbee in a couple of weeks.
A very interesting video. Would you please make a cooking in your van video?
We do show that sometimes in our videos but not every time.
Mining is still a very important industry, here in Arizona.
The Five C's which appear on the state seal stand for Copper, Cattle, Cotton, Citrus, and Climate.
Interesting, we never knew that. Thanks for sharing. 🧡😊🤓
Wondering why you passed thru New Mexico? Been there, done that?
And thanks for another great video!👍
We already had reservations to get to in AZ. When we have commitments by a certain date (as we often do) we have to keep to our schedule and pass by many places. We’ve been in New Mexico before but need and want to go back another time to explore more.
Passed Bisbee years ago, but as a truck driver my 75 foot semi with a load just won’t fit there.
Would you ever talk about your family budget works on the road? On 12/31 do you normally hit your targeted budget for the prior year?
Do you budget for a certain number of miles each year even though you are a travel channel? I’m 79, and although I’m fine financially, my children laugh knowing that I still create an annual budget. If you can tell, I enjoy numbers, but also know that your followers who yearn to follow your pattern someday may find your loose financial journey helpful.
Sadly, my husband passed in 2009, but gratefully we did our share of traveling in our youth and beyond whether we could clearly afford it at the time or not in the days before credit card use.
We shared our total expenses after our first year and then didn’t do that again. That video alone gives people an idea of all the categories of expenses. We all spend differently than others, but it gives you an idea. We like to keep to the videos that the majority of our viewers enjoy.
Did you here about Bisbee fire??!!
Yes, how sad. We heard it on the news almost 2 weeks after we were there. Those building are on the video. Short glimpse.
❤
❤😊❤
Such a scar on the land. Now they’re mining for lithium 😢
That’s for your electric car
@@slalomkinglol No me ! NFW 😂
@@lizcort5047 me either, who would buy such a disaster of a vehicle? No range, batteries wear out, too long to recharge.
Have you ever thought about travelling to Canada?
We just did this past fall. Look for our video about Door County. The Canada videos started right after that one.
Just watched your videos of Canada that you mentioned, awesome content! There's so much more for you to see, hope you plan on coming back one day!!
@debbiemurphy5553 Glad you enjoyed, thanks! Yes, much more. We got to see all we had time for before we had to start making our way for some commitments.
When Mexico ?
We’re not sure if we’ll take the rv there, but we did a video a few years back where we walked across to Nuevo Progresso. Then of course the cruise video to Cozumel.
If traveling and lost, and you wondered where you were, and cursed by the gods of the southwest you wound up in Bisbee. You would still be lost. Bisbee is not real. It is an episode from the twighlight zone series of weirdness. First the town is always completely empty. As in nobody. That's weird. Most stores are closed ? What is this, the apocalypse ? And those people dressed black in dusty dirty antique old western clothes crawling on their hands and feet, pleading to you from the street, " Water,,,,,, water,,,,, please water ". Their not actors. Best wishes.
Looks like another great place to visit. Got your walking in this video. Gotta burn off those calories. 🤓😎🥸
Not enough walking to burn off pecan roll, pie and pizza all in one day! 😂
Another excellent video! Thank you.👍🏼😎
