    Great video Morgan! Thanks for showing how accessible being vegan can be. Going vegan for one month means you saved 33,000 gallons of water, 30 animal lives, 900 sq feet of forest and 600 lbs of CO2!!

    I think this video shows how in order to go vegan you really have to do it for the animals. I tried to go vegan for my health and skin and could never stick with it for more than 2 days, but once I educated myself on everything i never craved meat again, now i've been vegan for 5 years!! Also I know you have those little ice cream cones sometimes, diya makes a lot of little frozen ice creams theyre sooo bomb if you want to keep limiting dairy but have yummy dessert, definitely a good option hahah

      Also, proud of you for doing this and showing how accessible being vegan can be, i always think if everyone went more plant-based rather than a few people going completely vegan it would help so much more so hopefully you inspire people to try a few vegan meals :)

    I've been a vegan for two years (I'm 69), and one thing I do NOT miss is chicken or cheese. I was never bothered by either food -- I ate them only because I thought you had to to be healthy.

    Processed vegan food is still processed haha. There are definitely lots of unhealthy vegan food available. I think the less you eat meat the less you crave it, that's what has happened with me as I have eaten a lot more plant-based for the past few years. I'm not vegan or vegetarian but I do enjoy eating lots of vegetarian/vegan food nowadays. It's definitely better for the planet. 😊

Get the medium firm tofu and cut up some veggies fry it up with some basil and salt and peppa and add some turmeric to make the tofu look like actual scrambled (but also has some great nutritional benefits to turmeric) and boom delish breakie. I also add a bit of hot sauce.

    Vegan food can be tricky where eggs/milk, etc can be in it🙂! You need to careful and not get upset if you happen to eat or drink something from animals. I believe if you’re plant based for health reasons most people won’t stick with it as if you do it for the animals you mostly stay with it for the love of animals😇 with that said, I’m proud of you tried that you a plant based diet for 30 days👍🏻 so you messed up a little🙂!...You’re right it’s not that hard to be vegan! I tell people Vegan is easy! Raw diet is hard, like eating just fruits, vegetables is hard. I just want to say rather you know or not please keep animals in mind in what they go through on farms and slaughter houses which I won’t get into b/c I think you may know the misery & pain the animals are going through! P.S. your friend who said, I never literally could never go vegan because of Chicken, please tell her she can go vegan because there are delicious vegan food that taste like chicken✌🏻Good luck with everything Morgan😀

So Delicious has good desserts. The Beyond Burger is a good vegan burger and pairs well with the Violife Smoked Cheddar. There is also this restaurant called Souley Vegan for Vegan Chicken Tenders and Louisiana southern foods. Gardein is good as well. Buddha Bowls are a quick way to get more veggies in, and you can meal prep for them. Also, Starbucks has dairy free alternatives.

    Once you are part of the vegan community you really begin learning about the incredibly wide and diverse food that is available to you. Anything you can eat as an omnivore you can eat vegan, including fried chicken, cheese boards, ice cream, etc. Like many others said, you really need to go vegan for the right reasons in order to stick to it. I am at a point in my life where I could NEVER go back. One of my favorite things to make is Indian inspired foods like chickpea masala, lentil dal. Healthy is more than just greens. If you incorporate seeds, legumes, etc it's a life changer.

I only cook vegan at home and buy vegan options at restaurants, but if I ever crave something non-vegan I treat myself to something once a month or so (dairy ice cream, fried chicken, chicken dumplings, etc.). That way I don't feel bad eating meat or dairy because I know it's not an everyday thing and I am doing other things to be plant-based and sustainable.

    You've fallen victim to the same misconception that most people have, i.e., conflating plant-based eating and veganism. Veganism is about the rights of animals, not what you eat. Therefore, one can't conveniently go "vegan" for 30 days. That's analogous to someone saying that they won't be racist, sexist, or homophobic for a month. You can understand how ridiculous that would be, right? If you're against an injustice, then that becomes part of your moral fiber, not just a passing fancy that you frivolously try out. I know that the caption "I Tried Eating Plant-Based for 30 Days" doesn't have the same appeal as "I Tried Going VEGAN for 30 Days", but it's would be more accurate. People who go vegan for the animals don't find it difficult to remain vegan. People who go vegan for health, the environment, or any other reason, find it easy to go back to being non-vegan. Hopefully, you might consider true veganism in the future where you focus your attention on the tens of billions of land animals and trillions of sea creatures that are exploited, commodified and slaughtered each year. Please check out the documentaries "Dominion", "Earthlings", and "What the Health" (just a sampling, there are many others) for inspiration and the reasons why going vegan is the least you can do for the animals. Good luck!

      Thanks for your thoughtful comment Todd! I totally see the difference, and originally did go on a long tangent in the video about how veganism goes beyond just the food for most vegans. I ended up cutting it out because I didn't feel like I was conveying my point well, but I'm with you on there being a difference between vegan & plant-based. I do think it's a lot harder/less realistic to convince most of the population to go fully vegan (myself included), which is why I hoped to show people that eating plant-based doesn't have to be that difficult. Even if people switch to a few days of plant-based eating a week, it's better than nothing in my opinion. Thanks for watching!

      @@brittanycarney1101 I don’t believe that I’m being pretentious for explaining what it means to be vegan. As I said in my comment, would we be so lenient with people who were only part-time anti-racist? “I Tried Being Ant-racist for 30 Days”? Afterwards, I was mainly anti-racist, but on that rare occasion I discriminate against someone it’s because it’s to my advantage to do so. Surely you can understand why this isn’t acceptable. How about “I’m Against Pedophilia for the Next Month.” However, after this trial period, I’ll be alright with someone who only molests children once a month. You see, when there’s a victim involved, there isn’t a convenient gray area. Hey, I applaud anyone who is making the effort to transition towards veganism by eating a plan-based diet. However, this doesn’t equate to being a vegan who is against ALL exploitation, abuse and slaughtering of innocent sentient beings. (By the way, the egg industry is one of the most heinous. And don’t be fooled by the “free range” BS.) That takes a moral commitment in which you align your moral values with your actions in regards to honoring the rights of animals. No one is saying that animals are equal to humans, but they have worth. Therefore, it’s the responsibility of humans, who possess moral agency, to protect those rights. Anyway, my initial comment was to distinguish between veganism and a plant-based diet. I never inferred that I was against anyone who is trying to reduce the meat/diary/eggs in their diet. It was never about being “protective over a label.”

    Literally sitting here watching this with my ground beef, bacon, eggs, and cheese! I'm 4 months into eating carnivore and feeling **amazing**! But hey, different strokes for different folks! If vegan works for you, then good on ya. However, from what I've been reading, veganism isn't "obviously better for the environment," and I think there is some debate to be had there. It's an interesting topic!

I don't know why you would choose a way that negatively impacts not just yourself. you can easily get that same abundance of energy by eating more plant based and less meat and dairy. @@BaileyConnell what is convenient about trying to have less impact on the environment negatively. Nothing that we need to do to that has a positive affect in any ways of our life is easy or convenient but that's why people don't want to change. Because we are comfortable with everything being quick, convenient , thinking everything here is for us and made for us. Everyone hates the movement or any movement that says otherwise and there are obvious reasons for that. For example most people love trump because all he does is tell his country that it's the best country in the world and that everything is okay all the time.

  • @ursonate
    @ursonate 3 роки тому

    I'm just going to put this out there: the belief that consuming plants and only plants is 'good" for the environment is a misapprehension to say the least. Ruminants actually contribute back to the soil literally fertilizing it. In the U.S. livestock accounts for 25% of agricultural greenhouse gas emissions. So where is the rest coming from? Also if you think that going vegan to "save the animals" actually saves the animals, go talk to a farmer and they'll be glad to let you know how many small animals are killed during harvesting. There is no doubt that animal-based agriculture could do much better, but the blanket statements that people make that going vegan basically solves everything are deeply flawed. And by the way, there are certain essential nutrients (meaning you will get very sick without them) that come solely from animals in their natural form. There's a reason you crave meat. Nevermind the significantly increased bioavailability of nutrients in meat, fish, and eggs compared to vegetable sources... Otherwise, make sure you're getting enough protein and enjoy your synthetic supplements. Toodles.
