Dan you would make a million and one children happy if you were to read children’s stories.. your voice the enthusiasm the passion all shines through. We love ya…………
Hey Jason, I’be been following your channel for a while, it changed from good to great over time and now from great to super cool. Crossing over with other cool channels I follow like Dan Hurd’s, and helping me finding out others like Brent’s is beyond super cool. I am a hone refiner hobbyist, and you provide my connection with on site exploration, prospecting, recovering and further, yours and your father’s business put in practice for so many different things. Awesome!!!! And thank you.
I love learning about the process of extracting gold and precious metals out of the earth but I REALLY love ❤ learning about rocks, minerals and gems! Great educational video
Loving the collaborations between favourite youtubers.....great exchanges....been watching each for years. Thanks for sharing your knowlewdge and experiences
It’s so awesome to see you guys together. You guys are my favorite channels, you know Jason 🤣✌️ I can’t wait for crushing and smelting with you and Dan Hurd Prospecting. He’s a high school teacher in real life and teaches prospecting🍻👍🤝
Hey Jason I think Dan might have brought you along to hammer in his feather's 😆😆😆😆. Love all the collaborative videos you've been doing really interesting for me. As always good luck and God Bless.
Lol not even a second after I posted this comment Dan explained it. In the spots that you can what about using a gas saw to cut the section you want out. Then you can pry out the block. You can drive your truck right up to the pit so you won’t have to haul it far
Have either of you done a video on what it takes to buy a 'claim'? It would be interesting to see both your processes considering you both seem to operate on different scales. Thanks!
Interesting that Dan says there is far more money in rocks than in gold. I am learning that too. I was up in the Michigan UP a few weeks ago and got some beautiful rocks with copper and silver. As specimens or slabbed out and polished they are worth so much more.
The thing about Ocean Picturestone is it's only ever found in BC on that claim Dan owns... IMO he doesn't charge enough for it because he's sitting on a finite amount and once it's gone, that's all there is in the world... that they've found. If it was a special type of diamond you'd be asking millions of dollars for what he's sold.
I ran an eagle 2 rock saw with an 11 1/2 ft. diameter blade. I would split rock into 5 ft.x5ft.x10 to 12ft. blocks. I've split a lot of stone by hand also. First you make sure to have enough drill holes not too far apart to accommodate the desired block, then when splitting, get all the wedges to seat well, then hit each one once or twice down the line. When they start getting high pitched wait. As Dan mentioned about waiting, it's true. You achieve the desired result, most of the time. Sometimes the rock has other ideas. lol
teamwork makes the dreamwork!!! that was an awesome adventure, thanks for sharing!!! oh on a safety note please keep your electrical leads out of puddles, those rocks are sharp, one nick is all it takes and zap
@mbmmllc since you live in washington you should come down to ellensburg sometime and do a video about the ellensburg blue, its a very rare gemstone, and there are a few good spots to find them around here.
I was having a similar idea. I use a diamond blade in my battery Dewalt die grinder. I cut steel, limestone sills,, marble thresholds. I would think a couple of judicious cuts to the left and right,, and at angle so the stone lifts out ( in explosives,, angling your center of blast holes to extract a deep cone.) I see often the rock splits ,, or more,, does not split because you are trying to take a center piece from an arch. The 4.5 or 5 inch diameter will only give you a cut depth of 1 to 1.25 inches,, but in limestone sill work,, marble,, once you establish a flaw,, that is almost always where it breaks. Exactly what you want. Feathers and wedges,,, You have said it,, follow your own good advice,, slow,, hit each wedge once or twice only and all in succession,, take your time. Never whack away at one wedge , particularly in the center. Take a little more time. Also,, it can help a great deal to use a 3 inch sharp edge stone chisel on the line of your feather and wedges. Define the line with the chisel first,, good solid dead blows. That sends flaws deep into the stone, 4 to 10 inches in limestone, 3 to 5 inches in granite.
it would be great if you could design a 9 screen wet classification machine. using perhaps 2 by 2 foot square screens and maybe a submerged or recirculating flow fluid processing, along with some vibratory action to stratify the materials. with each screen at least 3 inches deep that should handle enough volume for small operations where one wants to separate the different screen sizes.
@ 3:12 Dan says "if you can find a way to extract those and sell those..." It's easier to find rock and extract it than to find someone willing to give you money. Until then, all you have is a pile of rocks.
Mad how easy it is for the money you could get. However its probably way harder to sell it than gold. I could see folks easily sitting on insane amounts worth of the stuff with nobody buying. With gold you can sell it on your terms when you want to so many places and people, with stones your reliant on others willingness. Still very cool stuff though.
Matt, check out Demolition Dave here on YT, he has done several good videos with plugs and feathers, he needs one of your big jaw crushers to turn the fragged boulders into gravel to use on a Homesite
Dans a proper gentleman! Great collab and always educational.
Amen
This was a fun episode where it doesn't always have to be about mining or smelting. Thanks to Dan for sharing with us from the USA.
Dan you would make a million and one children happy if you were to read children’s stories.. your voice the enthusiasm the passion all shines through.
We love ya…………

Dan is an awesome guy. Live watching his videos. I got some chips of the ocean stone for my sister for Christmas last year. She loved it.
Dan knows how to make a rock valuable.
Lol yeah marketing
$75 for that first rock? wouldn't pay more than 35 AUD so about 15-20 USD?
Jason, I'm now a fan of your channel too, after seeing you collab with both Jeff Williams and Dan Hurd. Thanks, man!
Very nice stones

Very cool Jason. It’s amazing how much money those beauties fetch
Hey Jason I think Dan might have brought you along to hammer in his feather's 😆😆😆😆. Love all the collaborative videos you've been doing really interesting for me. As always good luck and God Bless.

Love you guy's working together! I would like to see you put Harry's (MO) XRF gun on the "picture stone". Just a suggestion, lol...❤
Excellent Colab! Edit: and Dan's beard is epic!
I have been following "Tim's Adventures" for several years. He is a sapphire miner in Australia. Really cool geology.
I call it Aurora Borealis rock! 😁😁😁💙💙💙 Absolutely BEAUTIFUL stuff! 😍😍😍
I love this video already guys

Years ago I heard a cup of gold was about $10,000 but a cup of gems can be a Half million
Nice gem stone!!
Hell yeah go Dan Hurd!!!!!
teamwork makes the dreamwork!!! that was an awesome adventure, thanks for sharing!!! oh on a safety note please keep your electrical leads out of puddles, those rocks are sharp, one nick is all it takes and zap
Good luck boss. 👍
NICE Collab!!!

Dan u need to draw chisel lines so between the holes so you get straighter lines 😁
Dan ! Did you ever make those Worry Stones ??? That would be the perfect stone
Hiya Jason
I hope you didn't crush and smelt those down! lol. I am joking, of course. It's cool to see friends doing stuff they love!
Very cool❤️❤️❤️❤️

Dan you need to let some of those young men to the hard work so you ain't down for awhile. Love your content ✨️
Dan your a jemuious guy.
they could make a pretty good belt buckle!

Yeah.....you wonder how much there is of that one....lol....gosh 0henol ocnx c8 berries on treasure rendition seem like good op too me. What a time.
If I heard you correctly Dan bc ocean picture is an obsidian like stone. I.e. volcanic glass
Dans got a good zest for life ,
Good video thanks ehhhh
I bet a gas powered concrete saw would make that job a lot easier. Not sure how good it would do with quarts tho. Hammering is fun too, tho.
7" angle grinder with diamond wheel should be way more affordable and you can just use your little gen to power it and your hammerdrill
Do you sell any of your lead scrap from smelting? I make scuba diving weights and I’m interested in buying
Dan, next time you pump out, use the water to clean the face before pumping out the hole
Better start saving that water. It'll be worth as much soon.
Utah has a new seam. I have some pieces of it. It's pretty but bc still prettier ...

So you have a welder/fabrication position available?
Gud vid
👍
How do u know the you wont make the mountain fall down
What metal is it that stains the quartz?
Cerulean blue, or sky blue.
