Looking forward to it ! One thing to note on the dizziness consider looking into epley maneuver if you suffer this often especially if you get fully dizzy.
Alan i just want to squeeze in a comment about how incredibly much i enjoy ur videos. These are the ONLY youtube videos i genuinely look forward to. U seem like such a fantastic dude. Can’t wait to see the dad strength settle in. Take care.
Thank you for explaining the myo-reps concept. My question is if whether or not it is necessary to announce it the same way you do before I begin? MYO REPS!!!
OMG I LOVE YOU Suicidal Tendencies Institutionalized? THE BEST. It's fun as a "Master lifter" with kids in college to see someone in the lifting community realize how kids affect your life in general and your lifting life in particular. Alan, just wait until your kid/s are teens. You are in for a WILD RIDE. Good luck. I hope your kid(s) are as well behaved as mine were. I thoroughly enjoy your channel.
I am a week behind you man. 2 days in and loving it. I have never used RPE or Myo Reps, but I am working through them and learning a lot about RPE. I would say that my eyes are sometimes bigger than my strength as it relates to RPE, but its all a process. Loving the Myo rep idea. Keep up the awesome content man.
Bro I'm not a doctor or anything but I had dizziness and found that it was caused by me listening high volume music. I lowered the volume and tucked me some time but had never been dizzy again. Great videos and keep up the good work and inspiring others.
I like the idea of these MYO reps, Ive kinda been unwittingly doing them already. After some singles 6x1 @ 95 - 100%, I do a back off set at 85% for max reps, usually 8 reps, but that's it just the 1 set. I'm gonna try following that up with 3 to 4 more sets of 4 to 5 reps (these MYO reps) after that for more volume. Alan - also a new dad here, for the headaches I recommend a shot of electrolytes and a 20mins power nap. It's often fatigue and dehydration. Love the content man keep it up!
Alan I think you are a bit younger than I am. Its so great to hear the songs that I grew up with being listened to by a younger generation. ST was it for us!
My Drill Sergeant taught me that it's usually easier to go to work than to go to sick call. That has been my philosophy ever since. I have missed less than 4-5 days of work calling in sick over 30+ years. . I have missed a few weeks when I was actually in the hospital, but that's a different topic. Might you be a little dehydrated?
@@hironizer1332 must be seeing your reflection in your phone screen. Try to not have any bright lights directly behind you when on your phone. Should help. Cheers!
“I’d get a little bit dizzy and I’d have to stand up and collect myself. Thought about it for a second, but decided I should just go to the gym, and feel things out.” IT’S A MINDSET THING!!!
When we had our second kid I started to get that dizzy feeling during the day, nothing wrong at the doctor with blood work. It was directly related to sleep problems (thanks children). If you are in zombie mode from the kid keeping you up all night, it might be a factor if you are otherwise used to getting enough sleep.
Might not be the same for you but I've had similar issues with getting headaches and dizziness. Doing some neck stretches and other neck/shoulder PT exercises helps. What I've actually been diagnosed with as the root cause however is vestibular migraines. I've had migraines for many many years and I guess they decided to evolve to give slight vertigo like symptoms occasionally with my headaches. It might not be what you're experiencing but figured I would bring it up since you mentioned a headache prior to the dizziness. That being said I'm not a doc so it could be anything.
I'm in the uk at a transport company, we have a piece of freight going to you guys!!!! i was WAAAAAAY to excited to find out, I'm very tempted to Ballsack it!!!
I think full body workouts put much greater strain on the heart. I've read about people measuring resting heart rate in the morning as a guide to whether to train or not. This could explain some of the symptoms you describe.
I ran Barbell Medicine's GPP/hypertrophy 3 day program and didn't find myoreps useful for strength gain. Definitely taxing and probably increased work capacity but I wasn't able to measure useful progress for strength gain based on them.
i had a similar issue after doing some volume on the block pulls. felt fine after the workout, the next day early in the morning, i struggled to get up (as if i was being pushed down every time i got up) and my head felt like it weighed 20kg's lol. i assumed it could be benign vertigo (sometimes random cases can occur) but i was out of training for 3 days since i couldn't even move my neck. i figured either i strained my posterior neck muscles leading to benign vertigo and all assured after 2-3 days rest i was sweet again!
I like the way you program, still don't understand why you should program legpresses? Is a squat variantion like a front squat a better choice? Maybe even lunges or bulgarian splitsquats.
Probably won't get a reply but worth a shot. It is pretty hard for me to figure out the weight for lower RPE sets. Is it possible to hit a single between 7 and 8 RPE to determine the working weights for the lighter sets and also enjoy the benefits of heavy singles which you discussed in another video? Thanks for all the information you give out. (Any comments are welcome)
Is it me, or do his squats look like he's standing a little narrower/going a bit deeper? Not a criticism, not casting subtle shade or being a form purist. I'm glad Thrall is making videos and able to lift (particularly after so much changein his life/being sick)
For hard gainz squat every time Alan says he is a new father
As a new father, I thought this comment was funny.
Squat!
@@AlanThrall I would be embarrassed if u were my dad tbh💯💯👌
i can now stop a train in movement with the power of my legs.
That's plain overtraining.
I'm not going to wait until I finish this program to reveal it. It should be revealed in it's entirety sometime next week.
Google Semont Maneuver sounds like vertigo!
Yuutt !
Looking forward to it ! One thing to note on the dizziness consider looking into epley maneuver if you suffer this often especially if you get fully dizzy.
These high rep sets are kicking my ass! Thanks for the program man.
That flipper going to harm the asphalt much more than tires.
The passion that Alan has for the game is unreal. He enjoys every second of the process, that’s why he’s doing so well. #Squad

List this workout playlist, I love that you're playing old school punk!
Carefull Alan.. crossfit might steal this for their next crossfit games

Coming back to Alan's videos years after=pure awesomeness.
Even better music than usual. I'm halfway through and I've heard Bad Religion, Operation Ivy, MC5, and the Vandals. Nice!
Pretty sure the Flipper weighs 1000 POUNDS

Sounds like Punk Rock day at Untamed Strength.
Suicidal tendencies was the first concert I ever went to. Oh memories!
Saw them in 2016 and again in 2017. They're still fucking amazing live, the energy from the band and the crowd is 10/10

Just back from the gym - and Alan just uploaded a new video! Perfect evening!
This is easily the greatest video on your channel with that intro
Hey check your blood pressure please, headache and dizzyness could mean your bp is either too high or too low.
Not a dad, or even a parent for that matter, but loving this content, discipline, and education
This is one of my favorite series right now
LOL! As a custodian and powerlifter, I loved this!
Don’t care if I’m 1st or 27th. I just came to see Alan killing it.
Rope pull with vacuum and the sled with mops were the best idea
Have these videos always been insightful or are these pearls of wisdom a product of fatherhood?

Nope. Master. Ride was their experiment. Master perfected the mode.

Punk days? Lots of classics.
