    06:39 I forgot to mention that this isn't the only solution. Sometimes you will need to take a direct approach by doing something like tempo squats for higher reps. Barbell Medicine has a knee rehab template if you are looking for something specific (google it).

    Hey Alan,
    Love your videos. I don't normally comment much but after you saying about your trouble getting that equipment I wanted to see if I could help in the future if you do it again. I'm based in the UK but have a fantastic US agent. We've got both sea and air options so if you need something fast then I'm happy to help.

    Patellar tendonopathy doesn’t get better on its own. This condition is typically associated with a rapid increase in training volume especially plyometrics (ie jumping/sprints). Treatment involves an initial decrease in resistance training loads with a subsequent gradual increase using pain as a guide. A Static wall squat held for 45secs prior to a training session will provide a 45mins pain relieving effect. If the person’s pain levels increase initially during a training session but then disappear and/or are greater the next day (in the AM) this means the load is/was too great. Since tendonopathy is not associated with inflammation icing is not an effective treatment.

    PSA to the bruises when benching and deadlifting. Asked a Dr. ( i got them for a hot minute) and basically you popped a blood vessel from gripping really hard lol. Dr. said to not go so heavy but they just went away once I got used to heavier weight (It also happened when I was detrained so grip was probably not that strong/being overworked).

    • @beaudeanbest
      @beaudeanbest 5 років тому +2

      If you have a bad shoulder for example the viking press setup allows you to get more volume in with your pressing. It will result in more strength and hypertrophy overtime vs not.
      It takes a bit of the stability out of pressing which can allow you to use more weight which can have some benefits. Id make sure to do some dumbbell work on top of it to help with the stability though

    That Viking press is awesome. I'm amazed some equipment company hasn't made a Viking Press/Calf-Hack Squat/low row-shrug version. For Calf-Hack squat--pull back the support stand and maybe put in an angled step. For low row-shrug, pull back support stand and lift from the ground.
    Another great vid.
