Hey Brooke! I was just admitted to two of my dream schools, Brown and Rice, and I want to thank you for all the guidance you've given me throughout high school. It has been invaluable!
@@jannamohamed2568 ohh i was also waitlisted at Rice lol - I'm really hoping i can get in. i have great grades but i asked for need based aid so i was pretty much rejected from all the top schools but waitlisted at rice so im really hoping to get in!
Congratulations. I attended UM and loved every minute. That said, if you are not from Michigan I honestly do not believe it is worth the money. If you or your parents need to go into a lot of debt for you to attend, I would suggest thinking a lot about your other options.
Hey Brooke! I've been watching your videos since 8th grade (I know, a bit over-achieving), but I was accepted by and committed to Yale. Thank you for your invaluable help.
Easiest way to get into ucla or cal is the juco route. Much much easier as juco competition is easy. Low brow students attend. I was a major stoner in hs and went juco for obvious reasons. Aced most my class and got a BS from ucla. Went to med school. Now i am operating on you guys. Lol. This country is the place you get so many chances to attend college. ‘Merica!!!
I got a bunch of rejections and waitlists but got into Northwestern so it doesn't even matter. Legit went 2 for 12 on T20's but you only need 1. SHOTGUN PEOPLE!!!
I got waitlisted at nc state, with a gpa of 3.1, after they requested my grades. I didnt do well my first year, but much better my sophmore year. I would like to wite an essay about an experience i had on campus at nc state that motivated me significantly at my current school. Is this worthwhile
They do not release any waitlist data, but as I’d like to say, I definitely hear stories of people getting off their waitlist. Usually when people don’t share it’s possible they are using it extensively
I have different advice - get excited about one of the schools that accepted you, commit there and forget about wait lists. No reason to continue the stress of college admissions and choose a place that already told you that they want you. Sometimes we don't get everything we want and that's okay.

Hey Brooke! I just got waitlisted for Harvard and am writing my LOCI. I've read on IvyCoach that, if I can get my counselor to submit academic/extracurricular updates via e-mail, then I should minimize the "bragging" and focus on why I like the school. Should I lean towards a "love letter" or also insert material updates?
To me the best loci makes a point -- here’s why I’m a great candidate OR here is my weakness but look I’m improving- this is how I bring something unique to campus- this is how I plan to change the world- typical counselors’ updates don’t necessarily have a point beyond sharing facts - I find the best LOCI makes a case. Love letters don’t impress me much esp w Harvard (Harvard thinks almost everyone loves them… )
@@SupertutorTV Ok thank you! I'm trying to take this opportunity to write the "Why Harvard?" essay that the application never afforded me space to include, but now I'll try to work in some updates as well.
Thanks for letting me know! We had some staff changes this week so it looks like something slipped through the cracks -- see here supertutortv.com/college/how-to-get-off-the-waitlist-2023/
They don’t release this info- several years ago I saw it happening a lot, but Idk w test optional how it’s shaking out- the last few kids I had to go to NYU got in ED
Did you get a place in waiting list from NYU? Also I need to know about NYU waiting list and how is the acceptance rate of NYU waiting list acceptance rate.
I have been waitlisted at Purdue and UBC for CS. I want to know my chances, ASIAN INDIAN. I know the chances are pretty low but I cant keep this out of my mind. Also, wonderful video.
Hey Brooke, Can you publish some stats on why there were such High Rejection rates across Ivies and other schools for 2023? Which race/country were rejected the most is it finqncial aid ? v/s accepted the most. This year 2023 there were oddly very high amount of rejections, please help throw some light on it. Thanks
This kind of data only comes out if colleges are sued -but the answer is pretty simple: test optional= more students who think they have a chance at a school equals more rejections - and then the students hear horror stories at their high school and are worried and then apply to more schools even if they’re including test scores because suddenly hi stats kids are getting beat out by kids with wow factors and there’s just less space.
Hello Brooke! I’ve been watching you vids for a while and have just one quick question about LOCIs that I couldn’t find anywhere else on the internet. So unfortunately, I accidentally sent a LOCI to Northwestern that was about 800 words (my rough draft). I submitted the wrong document and Im planning on asking them to remove it from my admissions file. Should I do this? And will this affect my admissions chances off the waitlist? Thank you so much!!!
How bad is it? You can try? Obviously it’s better to send a letter once and not be high maintenance about things. But if the letter isn’t that great then a better letter is better.
@@SupertutorTV I thought the letter was pretty good but I read online that LOCIs shouldn’t exceed 500 words. Is it worth it to try to resubmit it? Thanks!
