When the rock music world obsessed about Seattle, all my attention was on San Diego. From Pitchfork to Jehu to RFTC to Hot Snakes, these guys represented the Casbah sound more than anybody. 🔥🔥🔥

This band grounds me. Every time I’m listening to something a little more traditional or experimental or vintage or modern or whatever, and then I hear this band and I realize this is all I ever need.

One of the best bands on the planet and Rick Froberg is an amazing vocalist. I picked up their album 'Jericho Sirens' on vinyl just about a month ago and I have spun it consistently since then. Thank you KEXP and thank you Hot Snakes~

I got Thunder Down Under on my mp3 player, thought I grew out of listening to hardcore punk but these guys are really good. I read about them in 1001 albums to listen to before your die book I've got. They have a much more intricate guitar sound than your standard hardcore punk shit. I really like them.

It’s a shame John doesn’t sing in this group. His voice is super cool. Rocket From The Crypt was some of the best to come out of the 90’s.

I discovered Rick Froberg from his other band The Obits, and their 2012 kexp in studio performance.... man I love how this guy just plays kick ass up tempo rock. I think I like Hot Snakes better than Obits but ask me tomorrow lol
