Yes, it's amazing how effectively they "lifted" The Wipers' sound. Kickass album nonetheless, and I am so glad I got to see them touring on the 2nd album in 2002.

Easily my favorite Hot Snakes record. It may even surpass Yank Crime (yeah, I said it) as the best San Diego record ever.

Goodfella the difference is that Hot Snakes are actually a tight and rocking band, Sonic Youth is wack
sonic youth are really really inventive though and have inspired thousands of different artists
i.e. hot snakes would not sound the same if the chain of events set off by bands like sonic youth in the 80s and 90s never happened
