Saw them in Austin TX. Literally really went to the US from Australia to see them at the fff festival because I thought I would never get an opportunity. The jjj Australian in studio is one of the best recordings ever. RIP Rick. Loved your artwork too. Missed x

Yes, it's amazing how effectively they "lifted" The Wipers' sound. Kickass album nonetheless, and I am so glad I got to see them touring on the 2nd album in 2002.

Goodfella the difference is that Hot Snakes are actually a tight and rocking band, Sonic Youth is wack
sonic youth are really really inventive though and have inspired thousands of different artists
i.e. hot snakes would not sound the same if the chain of events set off by bands like sonic youth in the 80s and 90s never happened
Members of Hot Snakes were basically musical peers to Nirvana, Sonic Youth, 90s grunge/alternative/indie because they're actually from that era with their previous projects..
Color Haze's Rainbow Head album sounds a lot like Kurt playing on it. He would of loved that band too!
