I continually watch Little House and Highway to Heaven because it keeps my thoughts and heart grounded in the world we live today. The world needs more Michael Landon's. He provided shows, truths and beliefs that were soulful and gave faith and hope. Thank you Michael Landon

I haven’t lived a sinless life so I won’t comment negatively towards anyone. I grew up watching Bonazza, then Little House and finally Highway to Heaven a loved each one. The last two always left me wanting to be a better person.

A wise and thoughtful comment. Life is hard.
When the good we've done outweighs by soooo much - the mistakes- I think we can be proud. And that is so true with this man. 😊💕

Bless your heart TC, my grandmother used to say every heart knows it's own pain, if all of us would look at ourselves with the same scrutiny would we not all be better humans and the world a better place? I never understood why we always gravitate to the bad even when there is so much more good to see. The good outweighs the bad but the one bad is always spoken of and dwelled upon, and who decides what was the bad Mike did, why do we expect perfection from some but so readily excuse the imperfections of our own family and friends?

My dad was a diabetic over 15 years before I was born. My dad loved the classics and respected Michael Landon. My dads name was Michael too. My dad passed away 2 years ago this October from a rare form or cancer located in the bile ducts of the gastrointestinal system. He was only 66 also kinda young. He.was really apparently sick from cancer for only 6 weeks. The doctors didn't even know he had cancer till they did an autopsy. They thought it was an infection. The people who die younger were really good people.

I loved Michael Landon. Unlike most of Hollywood, it seems everything Michael was involved in was wholesome, family entertainment, and it was all quality work. Thank you to Michael and his family and friends for the support given him to continue quality work. Michael truly was an Angel to the world and to me and many I know, will always be remembered as such. He was handsome, funny, caring, kind, a humanitarian, a good husband and father as far as I hear. I know he is with the Lord. All he had, he gave back in his work. I pray for his family, friends, co-workers, and all who knew and loved him. God bless you Michael Landon and God bless all who supported him in his decisions and the works he got himself involved in. Thank you for a lifetime of great home, wholesome, entertainment that we could all sit with our families and enjoy, knowing there would be nothing embarrassing or to worry if it would be a bad influence on us our children or friends. I look forward to seeing you again in heaven, and thanking you for being the man you truly were, are and will always be.

I could never imagine Michael Landon ever wanting to hurt someone intentionally. He just lived his life in the best possible way anybody I know ever could. All this talk about him being an intentional uncaring person is preposterous in the extreme. He was more of a giver & not a taker every day he ever lived. I never met him nor does it matter. I observed him in person from a distance at an event in Las Vegas with his soon to be wife Cindy. He was nothing but incredibly happy smiling laughing and giggling with the public. He had this aura of invincible happiness encapsulating him. It’s not something you could ever forget.

Hello! He actually wrote that for one of his Little House episodes. A woman knew she was dying and she had 3 young children. The minister read this at her funeral. Then when Michael died, his daughter read it at his service. He was on TV for 3p years. Many of us grew up with him. If you watched the biography you saw how he started as just a young actor and eventually became a writer, director and producer of great FAMILY entertainment - the likes of which we don't really see anymore. Mike Jr. is a pale imitation of his Father but from what I understand his shows are similar in content and he is a good family man. All of the values that his father taught him are evident. Despite what some haters says - he was- according to ALL of his children a kind and loving father and a good man. 😊💕

I watched the movie made by his son, and was disappointed a bit, as he just showed his father as a cad, Michael Landon was so much more, and he was old enough to know that, I think the very sad thing here is that his ex wife after spending 19 years with this man who gave her everything and who shared 5 children with him didn't have the decency to think about all the good times and good things he did and not go to his memorial or say goodbye and thank you to him, is more shameful than the infidelity he committed towards her, she needed to look in the mirror as she too cheated behind his first wife's back with him, so she has no right to be angry regarding their divorce, her actions say more of what a self centered ungracious person she was than him doing what he did. Regardless, I loved him growing up and now at 62 still watch his shows fondly and will always love how they make and made me feel. To me he was that Angel and I hope he got his wings when he got to Heaven as he deserved them. God Bless you Michael Landon.

I agree with just about everything you've said. I'm sure the divorce was horribly painful for her but enough years had passed - she could have gone to the service. Who knows what went through her head. It is Mike jr. who committed the most grievous, unforgivable sin in my mind! I'm sure he's in Heaven now. A real Angel! 💖💕

I think Michael Landon was an amazing man and actor. I truly feel blessed that I was able to be a part of his life on the other side of the screen. I lost my father very early and I know that empty feeling. I am now 70 years old, so remember him as little Joe as well as all his other productions and was an avid watcher of Little House on the Prairie. I agree. I think that too many chemicals in our food and environment are causing diseases like cancer and autoimmune diseases. Also, stress plays a big part in how our body is able to cope. I'm sorry your mom passed away from cancer. It must have been terrible for you. I have two autoimmune diseases and bipolar disorder, so I'm aware of how disease can affect the body. The thing that gets me through it is my faith in God. I hope that you have this in your life to bring you peace and the hope that one day you will be able to see your mom in heaven. We are never alone in this world. Out heavenly Father is always with us to guide and comfort us in our struggles. I say this with love in my heart for you. God Bless You Alice. I feel truly blessed as I watched this. I too have been battling some dangerous medical problems for the last 8 years. Each one really testing my faith, fortitude, and gratitude for life, God, friends, family and strangers who I have encountered and interacted with across the years. Having reached the age 54 Michael Landon immediately came to mind as I outlasted some of my childhood favourites such as Maurice Gibb of the Bee Gees and actor John Ritter both of whom died in sudden tragic fashion. Patrick Swayze as well. Knowing I could have left as well, but am still standing in spite of challenges is extremely humbling. As I now deal with the overwhelming family issues during my renaissance I'm doing my best to stay positive and continue smiling. This Easter is particularly special and church shall be uplifting. This is the legacy of Michael Landon- my TV Dad from childhood to adulthood has left made me the man I am today and has given me Highway To Heaven!!

Perhaps some of you - the very few - who are haters - should read what Michael Landon's children had to say about him as a man and as a Father. This includes Jr. They all talked to the Pancreatic Cancer Network to commemorate the 30th anniversary of his passing. So - all of his friends, all of his cast members and every single one of his children remember him as a kind and loving, generous, decent human being. One of a kind. Unforgettable. But you few haters of course, know better. How sad that you find happiness by believing the trash talk and looking for the worst in people instead of listening to those who know the truth. 😑💕

I know someone who worked as an actor on the Little House on the Prairie series. and she told me as much as she admired Michael Landon the actor and human being, he did have shortcomings. He hurt the children of his second marriage very much, when he quite openly in his work place, had an affair with the woman who became his last wife. His final wife worked as a make up artist I believe , on “ Little House”and that was how their affair started. The actress I know, , told me it was emotionally difficult for her and others on the show, , when his children would visit the set and they were aware the children’s father was being unfaithful to their mother! Some of that hurt may have led to the prospective of Michael Landon junior, to make the movie about his dad. Ironic really!! That Michael Landon senior told all the negative tales about his mother after her death. And when Michael Junior told his truth about his father, after his death, he was vilified by some! I agree Mr Landon was a gifted man , who made great tv shows and he did some wholesome things to help people in his life. But like most of us, he made mistakes and some people were wounded by those mistakes. I sincerely pray for all of the Landon children and wives , as each very likely mourn him still today.

Something brought Michael Landon to mind today. I really can't say what, but I found myself checking my phone for a clip of Michael's last appearance on the "Tonight "Show, when he was honest, gentle and truthful about his diagnosis. I recalled that I had seen the original airing all those years ago, and both times I cried my eyes out, absolutely heartbroken. Amazingly, he succeeded in causing me to laugh out loud several times, making me respect his strength of character even more. "Bonanza", was a bit early for me, but "Little House On The Prairie" debuted at just the right time for a young girl like me!!! I received the paperback book set as a birthday gift, and I was "over the moon" with joy. My parents and I read them at the same time, and simultaneously fell in love with the memoirs of this spunky little pig-tailed girl and her family and friends. The show premered and we watched it together, once a week, laughing at Nellie and crying over Mary. Everyone seems to have a favorite episode or two, I couldn't begin to name mine. lol Michael embodied "Pa", quick to laugh or to cry, just like my beloved father. "Highway To Heaven" had magically- uplifting stories, and I just know I would have adored, "Us", the series he had created before his passing. There's just one other example of Michael's glorious talent, A TV movie named, "The Loneliest Runner", based on his relationship with his, at times, extremely cruel mother. I've never forgotten it because it left such a deep impression on my soul. Please do your best to locate. It online. You won't regret it, I promise you. Wow. I've been carrying that deep love and respect for sweet Michael Landon, for a great. many years. I thank you with all my heart for allowing me to bring those precious memories to the surface. Please take very good care of yourselves and stay safe. I send a giant hug to each and every one of you beautiful people. Thank you for everything, Michael ❤️. Joy. ❤️

People should stop reading the tabloids as they are an absolute disgrace and have no conscience. Michael was one of my favourite actors and a very clever man as he knew what the public really liked. Highway to Heaven, always had me reaching for the tissues but the film I really loved was The Loneliest Runner, as I too, used to wet the bed all the time and my mum and my nan would get upset with me. From a fan's point of view, I thought Michael was handsome, warm, intelligent and funny and I felt very sad when he died. I don't ever recall hearing Mr Landon say he was the perfect human being, and that is why I think his son was very disrespectful to try and put his father in a bad light.
