I was touring the Cartwright house on July 1, 1991, when a tour guide walked in the door and told us that Michael Landon had just passed away. How strange it was to be in the house at that sad time.

This movie is total BS. Dooley was a drummer boy in the rebel army because he was a good musician, he was not in the Calvary. He was taken prisoner for the duation of the war and went back home. When he got home he started back up with his love triange with two sisters, one had syphilis by then and gave it to him. Unknown to Dooley he then banged the other sister and gave it to her. He thinks the 2nd sister gave it to him, not the other sister who originally gave it to him. So he plotted the murder of the second sister, promising to elope with her. So she rode off with him to elope and he stabbed her in the heart. This was the first sensationalized "Three way love triangle relationship/murder" in the U.S. press. This would be a great remake for Hollywood to produce today with the real story. Dooley was a real piece of work..

Sad to see your kids dis-honouring your memory fighting over money & making documentaries just to advance one's career. I'm sure no ones perfect but he loved all his kids the same. To go so quickly & so young R.I.P 🕯️🙏😇

I am 57 and still watching the show today. It brings back old memories when I was 16. Such a great quality, family-oriented show. Thank you, Michael Landon, for creating the greatest family show for many generations to come. May God be with you and be with the rest of the casts that have passed. ❤❤

I know someone who worked as an actor on the Little House on the Prairie series. and she told me as much as she admired Michael Landon the actor and human being, he did have shortcomings. He hurt the children of his second marriage very much, when he quite openly in his work place, had an affair with the woman who became his last wife. His final wife worked as a make up artist I believe , on “ Little House”and that was how their affair started. The actress I know, , told me it was emotionally difficult for her and others on the show, , when his children would visit the set and they were aware the children’s father was being unfaithful to their mother! Some of that hurt may have led to the prospective of Michael Landon junior, to make the movie about his dad. Ironic really!! That Michael Landon senior told all the negative tales about his mother after her death. And when Michael Junior told his truth about his father, after his death, he was vilified by some! I agree Mr Landon was a gifted man , who made great tv shows and he did some wholesome things to help people in his life. But like most of us, he made mistakes and some people were wounded by those mistakes. I sincerely pray for all of the Landon children and wives , as each very likely mourn him still today.
