Flying Forklift

- This was a mission I was looking forward to as getting to land at North Field was a memorable experience. I'm a bit of a history geek and especially anything related to the Army Air Corps during WWII. The Mariana Islands are full of this sort of history and getting to fly into the same airfields that aircrew did during the war is one of those experiences I will always appreciate. I hope you enjoy this type of content, although it isn't what I normally produce. Look forward to more General Aviation stuff in the near future. Cheers!
This is awesome Set. Greatest time-lapses ever. Thanks a lot.
😎
This brings back memories. I flew out to the dz for cope north in 2017. Slept with the barking deer for a week or so. Got some awesome training in with the coalition forces. Also got to take a ride in the 130
Thanks
Cool!

Lived on Guam for 25 years. Last home was golf course right next to Andersen!!! North field been there! Also been to Tinian and Rota! Many times!! Saipan beautiful too.
That's awesome! It's a beautiful place that I will definitely be visiting again!
love it. some of my favorite av content.
Awesome!
appreciate you putting this together...I know a lot of people that did or do fly in the military but I never get to see actually sorties...perspective takeaways = watching the yoke work on landing and landing on rough 3700 ft runway......I recently joined a club that operates out of 2400 turf where you hit a bump and off you go...and a 3000 x 40 paved surrounded by trees...makes all the 6000 x 100 paved look easy that most people I know still use
Once you master landing on the small stuff the big runways feel pretty easy.
So Cool!!!
Awesome video Seth, videos like this get me excited, I am sure others as well about the AF.
That's great to hear!
That was great!
Very cool 😎
Thanks for sharing and the voiceover
Welcome!
Love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤ thanks
You're welcome!
Timing takeoffs has me curious, Thanks for sharing Mr. Lake!
Good observation. It takes some coordination for sure, especially when we are in remote areas which is why we practice this stuff.
Very interesting.
👍
wow Seth really loving this content. interesting about the 500' above water; I thought altitude was your friend and would want some glide distance. must have been cool for anyone on a boat to see and hear freedom flying by
Altitude is definitely your friend. However, you can manage the risk when you have 4 engines and a lot of fuel. Wouldn't recommend doing this in a single or even most twins. It's common practice for us though.
This content!!😍 thx Seth!
Welcome!
Enjoy you vids
Thanks Bob!
Shared with all my Air Micronesia flying buddies! Loved the very high definition video great footage!!!
Awesome!
I was stationed down at the Seabee Camp for a few deployments . We made trips to Anderson often just to hit up the galley. Great flight
Cool! It's a beautiful part of the world but very isolated
Pretty cool video! What’s the reason for not turning the engines off when loading? I think you said you were 2 hours on the ground at that point?!
The spinning props help keep everyone cool 😎. Just kidding, it's really so we don't have to worry about cycling the engines multiple times which would increase the chances of something breaking.
Goat Island is where all the Japanese Gold from WWII is hidden!
Wow! I should have landed there then 😆
Seth let us KNOW when you get your twin(s) up running again. Need a multi-add on and multi-instructor for my son in a few months.
Will do!
Please send us a email with your request to contact@vsl.aero and we might be able to help you out!
Cool video. Thanks. Do you leave the engines running the entire 2-hrs you are on ground?
Yes, the engines stay running the whole time. During these types of exercises we don't want to shut down which would risk a maintenance event preventing us from starting back up.
@@SethLakeDPE Thank you
Is that flying a new forklift for bringing a new engine to the multi-trainer so we can come down and get our ratings?
🤣
So are you forklift certified or forklift rated? I’m confused
🤣
Can't even count how many jumps I have from the back of one of these.
Awesome!
