6:29 I recommend buying the Salzburg - Rosenheim line, it's one of the few lines in the game where I find the scenery pretty good except for a few spots.
The fact they didn’t make the first class car because they “didn’t have time” is such a lazy excuse. You’re literally the people setting the timelines, leave a little extra to do it right. It’s the same garbage excuse for why they didn’t make the correct high entry dostos on Hamburg-Lübeck or the first class/cab cars for the 101 when it first came out. They also haven’t gone back to add these as layers for EC services on any of the routes in which they actually run, which is also really frustrating. The other unfortunate thing about this route is that ICEs also run over it but they just totally neglected those as well.
Well, it's a good concept but I'm not getting this one either. The problem is quantity over quality, and that is how DTG seems to see things. If they did the opposite (quality over quantity), would you be raking them over the coals so much? Also typing in this comment whilst I'm on a GWR IET to Carmarthen
We don't only have "Glognitz to Murzuschlag" in TSC, we actually have the full route from Wien Hbf > Winer Neustadt > Glognitz > Murzuschlagg > Graz; spread across three different "Sudbahn" routes available from RSSLO.
Honestly, I don’t mind them remaking this route. The Semmeringenbahn is pretty legendary and deserves to be in the game imo. Doesn’t mean I like them remaking so many routes instead of creating/adapting new ones though, It is pretty lazy yeah. Also, could you maybe show images of the locomotives you’re discussing in your video’s (Like when you reffered to the OBB 1144). It kinda helps just knowing what locomotives you’re talking about without having to keep a google searchtab open the whole time hahha
Deffo an improved traction sound for the OBB...sorry i mean Copy Paste Taurus BR182 (seriously.. it isnt new whatsoever, just typical DTG using cheap workarounds). The BR182 sounded... Pixelated... robotic... Think i may wait for a sale on this route before buying. Speaking of partial remakes, will you be reviewing the *cough cough* NEW LIRR route??
i agree that dovetail should make a route featured in northern ireland since that would be so scenic and you get to drive the class 4000 which is similar to a turbostar
The thing is DTG can only make things for which the operators agree to grant them licensing. DTG is always reaching out to operators, but many do not wish to be in the game. I'd imagine Northern Ireland would have similar security concerns to the kind that have kept NYC Subway and PATH from appearing in TSW
Another comparison for the abscence of the RailHEt Stock is like replacing the Metroplotian (a german luxury high speed train, that ran a while ago) with the normal BR 101 with IC coaches without the cab or restaurant car
I was actually considering getting this route but after I saw the feedback on the forums along with steam reviews, I think it would be better if I waited for a sale. I agree with your review that it isn’t bad, but considering that this route uses pretty much recycled rolling stock with a train that hardly runs on the line in real life since most of the trains that do run on this line are railjets along with too many copy-paste assets, making it feel like a German route, I just don't see this being worth $40 dollars. The fact that DTG didn’t have time to make the first class coaches is baffling. It’s like there isn’t proper planning when they making the 1116. I do agree that they should perhaps slow down on releasing new routes. As for the passengers, the designs on the passengers are apparently done by a seperate individual. Honestly, I don’t care if passengers are cuddling and taling on the phone. I just want them to actually get on the train and get off where appropriate since they hardly board a train whenever I play tsw. Also, passengers are always walking to the exit of the station whenever I arrive to any station in TSW.
Thank you for the effort of research you put in this review. The signaling is not properly made, between wiener Neustadt and st egyden there are some misplaced signal announcement signs (white-red-white plates that say where a signal is). While I miss the 4744 I don't think dtg would make this emu properly so I am not too sure if I want this train in tsw if dovetail keeps their behavior of poor execution of vehicles. If you want Austrian diesel routes, there is an diesel only alternative to the semmeringbahn, it's formed of sections from the aspangbahn, wechselbahn, thermenbahn and the steirische ostbahn. But that's about 200km so a section of this route would be interesting. There we have the 5047, the 5022, which is the ÖBB version of the db 642 and the 2016 locomotive.
I should say, the "new" sounds on the ÖBB ES64 on this route have been on the Kassel-Würzburg Dispolok ES64 since just a bit after the release of TSW4. They are an improvement to the original, however.
@@DC4260Productions Yeah, that's all good. I was just surprised that DTG seem to only have implemented them on the newer ES64's instead of others, such as the DB and MRCE's.
I would really like to try this route out, But again, way overpriced, as usual. I have decided that if I am to buy any Doesn't Fix Games stuff, I will buy Only when on sale, and even then, prices are still ridiculous for what you get. Thankful for my other Honest and worthwhile train sims I use. Thank you as always for another great review.
As much as I do agree with your review on this. The NPCs changes are much needed, and it's one guy who is working on them and has been for months not a team. So no it's not a waste of time really , and to be fair I just think you're nitpicking on this subject. The updates to the NPCs are on all routes even routes that came with 2020 not just tsw 4 . If you compare the NPCs to how they were it is a much improvement if it was a team working on it I would say yes you have a point but to be fair you don't. Remember it's ONE guy doing these changes not a team. I'm not defending dovetail games in the slightest but they are real improvement, And as I've said the updates to the NPCs come on all routes no matter how old they are...
Dude, you literally spend 75% of these videos doing anything but actually reviewing the content. I feel like I’m watching the same video over and over again. Also, the NPC’s were updated in TSW4 / Winter core and are a core feature applicable to all routes. Ever think it might be time to move on if you hate it that much? This has gone beyond constructive criticism to screaming into a void.
I don't actually hate TSW, but what I do hate are Dovetail's business practices; the game itself can still be fun to play. Call it 'screaming into the void' all you want, but many people (besides myself) don't see it that way, because it's actually constructive criticism. As a paying customer, I'm entitled to review the products and praise or criticise various things as I see fit. I will only change my review style if / when I want to.
@@DC4260Productionsnever stop doing your reviews. People are satisfied way too easily. Like you I do enjoy TSW a lot, minus all the broken bugged and half ass developing and overpriced on launch and they ALWAYS discount it couple weeks after proving it is nothing more than quick money grabs. They don’t care about players whatsoever. And that sucks too because we can all see beneath the pile of shit the game itself has sooo much untapped potential…
@@DC4260Productions I wouldn’t expect you to change your style, why should you? It’s just some feedback. Beyond that, what exactly are these business practices that you rile against exactly? I don’t really see making a given route instead of some farmyard railway in the arse-end of nowhere as bad business, just bad business in your eyes. They make what sells, like it or not. I’m very critical of the game where it is warranted (imho of course) and am not satisfied easily, but doing a review of a DLC where you bemoan the fact that it’s not something else for 50-60% of the video is just pointless. It’s not reviewing the content, it’s saying ‘I don’t like it because it’s not what I want it to be’. Some of the points you make are valid but they got lost in the manufactured rage against DTG.
Regarding Dovetail's business practice, the main thing I don't like is the overly-frequent DLC releases, which leave little time to ensure that the quality of each add-on is as good as possible. The high costs don't help the situation (even if there's a perfectly good reason for increasing the prices), because the quality of the DLC is rarely reflected in the price. Another thing I don't like is the (in my opinion) unremarkable route choices, of which there are several, and the fact that most routes are short and linear. This can make them boring unless there's a healthy amount of service variation; Niddertalbahn being an exception because the excellent scenery makes up for the limited services. As for the 'I don't like it because it's not what I want it to be' mindset, I will try to tone that down moving forward.
I do think DTG are stepping up their LOD ability with each route though. Compared to TSW2020 we are lightyears ahead. The same cannot be said for Rivet Games however... 🫨
Tbh i still prefer the TS classic version because we actually have DLCs with more rolling stock and no broken signals
6:29 I recommend buying the Salzburg - Rosenheim line, it's one of the few lines in the game where I find the scenery pretty good except for a few spots.
8:52 also, all the services labled as RJ have 7 bmz's, just like the Railjet has in real life.

Not sure. I need to get some real life railfanning videos (and the LIRR review) finished first.

I can certainly see myself going easier on Dovetail if they shifted to a quality over quantity business model.
