    Where did you connect the red brake cable? L & R or just one side?

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  5 років тому

      Both brake lights are usually linked, so you'll get away with connecting to one side.

    Is there anyway to test the teb7as relay? My trailer lights have just stopped working, checked in-line fuse from battey and all is fine. I have recently fitted a new battery also

    • @deuceelec

      Check the voltage between +/- at the relay with a DVM. If supply voltage, then check voltage at for each circuit connection/outlet from the relay whilst operating said lights. Obviously indicators will have a fluctuating voltage due to their operation.

      So long as you find a good sound location to ground (on the vehicle body/chassis), you can add as many wires as the selected mount type (bolt etc) will accommodate.

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  4 роки тому +2

      You only need to run a Positive (+) from the vehicle battery, ensure an inline fuse is installed in this, close to the battery. Negative does NOT go to the battery, but to a suitable vehicle body ground point, as the body acts as your return path to the battery negative terminal.

    Hi. Tried fitting a teb7as bypass relay today. All wires soldered, nice and tidy. Triple checked everything. It is not working. There is no continuity on the white ground cable so I have no ground on the output side. And also if I have the position litghts on, will get all outputs as live 12v. Is it possible the relay unit might be faulty?

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  Рік тому +1

      There is always a possibility the relay may be faulty, test with Dmm to check. A good ground is crucial for it to work. Only testing with a multimeter will provide the answer. If you want me to make a video showing how let me know.

    Hi.. I have fitted a towbar to my old 2008 Astra 3-door hatchback. How do I route the cable from the battery to the bypas relay in the boot?

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  4 роки тому

      Yes, close to the wiring loom that you need to tap into.

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  4 роки тому +2

      Look at the route other cables in the engine compartment are passing through the firewall/bulkhead and use that (cable tie as appropriate) . Once you have it under dashboard, remove "A" pillar capping and route cable up inside and into roof lining, ease door seals away from top to achieve this, no need to remove roof lining, just tuck cable into the edge and replace door seal. Repeat procedure at C or D post ( whichever applies), Single cable fused close to battery will suffice.

      late reply... Some Astra "H" cars have Rear Electric Centre, basically a fuse box behind the left hand rear 1/4 boot trim. Factory or dealer wiring kits connect there

    • @deuceelec

      This bypasses the CAN system and is fed direct from vehicle battery. Fused of course.

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  4 роки тому

      Google TEC 3M and TEB7AS, to find PDF/diagrams showing what wire goes to where. Pre relay wiring is a fused single core (of a reasonable gauge) direct from the Battery B+ Grounded locally at a confirmed ground point on the chassis.

    hi can anyone tell me on the tec3m if the 2 first poles 12v 12v are for car battery ...which one goes out to the leisure batt ???

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  2 роки тому +1

      Both 12v connections are connected, so you could connect second battery to one and car battery to the other. Make sure the connection includes inline fuses for both batteries. I believe (can't guarantee) this relay is rated for 30amp. Although diagrams of it suggest 15amp inline fuses.

    The buzzer on my unit is going continually even with the ignition off after 2 years of use only way to stop is to pull the fuse

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  2 роки тому

      The buzzer is in the TEB7AS unit, I can only suggest that you check power supply and ground connections and voltage on a DMM. Assuming all other wiring connections are good, as it's been working for 2 years, but check them anyway. If all above is good replace the unit (I would take it apart and attempt a repair, but that is up to you).

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  4 роки тому +1

      It must be at least 2.5mm^2 as it carries at least 10amps for the caravan fridge alone, then add all the other light current draws. Not towing a van? Well, don't skimp on this because you might (or the vehicle might), at some point in the future.
      Remember to add min 20amp inline fuse at the battery end.

    • @deuceelec
      @deuceelec  4 роки тому +1

      @@andrewjones1446 If they have fitted the TEB7AS, it does not accommodate Fridge connectivity, but he TEC2M does. You need both relays to support fridge operation. On the TEC2M, check the fridge is connected to terminal number 6 on the relay. It only charges at voltages about 13v and cut-off below that voltage, in oder to NOT flatten your vehicle battery. Your vehicle should produce enough voltage for the relay to operate with the engine running, but not enough voltage with key on, engine off. Also check they have put the supply B+ into the 12v and ground into the 0v on the TEC2M.
