To anyone wondering what happens if a parent doesn't leave after being ejected by a referee... the first step is to tell the parent that their child's team will be forced to forfeit the match if they don't leave. The next step would be to call police and have them removed as once they are told to leave, they are trespassing. Unfortunately, referee's have the power to eject a fan as far as the league who organized the match, but legally we don't actually have that power. The coach, athletic director, principal, or representative of the school has that power and will back up the ref 99.9% of the time. And to be honest, a police officer would probably back up the word of the ref as well, but *technically* the power only lies with someone from the school or owner of the facility.

@@Mann_Kaffee_Menschen i usually keep pretty good report with the parents. I'll explain things to them, joke with them, etc, keep things light. We did have an old guy say he'd meet us in the parking lot...which I thought was hilarious, as I'm 6'3" 250 and the other ref was 6'5" 230 lol. This is true to an extent but incorrect. You 1. Send the parent off, 2. Enlist the help of the coach 3. Say alright i’ll wait 4. Abandon the game 5. Then call the police if you re truly threatened. This is what USSF teaches

It's the coach's responsibility. If they can't or won't have the spectator leave (possibly with the help of event staff), the match will be abandoned. It is not the responsibility of the Referee to determine the result of a match abandoned this way, but every league and tournament I've worked with will record it as a forfeit.

Center wearing a pink shirt... Doesn't match her ARs - she should be kicked out for that... Right procedure: center ref talks to head coach of fan/parent causing issue and let them take care of the disruption. If that doesn't work, game is halted until person leaves and if this doesn't work - field monitor or higher ups need to be brought in. Game is paused until situation fixed or it can be cancelled all together.

here I am in weird referee-parent interaction youtube again. Why's the center wearing a different color than the AR? Can't help but to feel like the ref is doing a bad job if you have to kick out a parent in U11 girls. Sometimes it's out of your control but come on. Didn't even look like a foul in fairness to the parent. You can see the coach & sub with the pinnie react negatively as well. Sometimes you have to eat the abuse on a borderline call. Well actually during those scheduled times, the Soccer Association has paid for that land, therefore making it private property, in which all those that attend must adhere to the rules. One of them is following the Referee's call. Once the match is over, then a person can stay all they want, assuming no other matches were paid for on that day.
