I think the front office has their doubts about Dak at $60M / year but there should be no doubts with Lamb and Parsons.
They absolutely should have moved on from Dak two seasons ago. Instead we sign him to a contract that completely fucks our cap for a decade. Understand this. Jerry Jones doesn't care about winning. He cares about profits. As long as he is raking it in he could care less what their record is. That's why no free agent moves. No talent hunting for a qb. Etc etc.

I was a cowboys fan my whole life. 34 years old. And last season was it. Asked myself why I’m rooting for this team.. they do the same thing every year.. tired of knowing what will happen every year. Just a fan of football now.. not picking a team
I'm in the same boat, except it's been an ongoing process over the course of like 4 years or so.
I didn't have a moment where I was like "I don't like this team anymore." I've just progressively cared less and less about them. I hardly even watched any games last year.
I didn't watch the draft, I haven't kept up with them, and I probably won't bother watching many games this year either.

@@Kings0424 The sad thing is that he does care. He lucked out in the early 90's in Jimmy Johnson and that historic trade. The way Jones runs his team, he is lucky that he got three Super Bowl wins because as of right now, they are lucky to have a management that can at least try to put a viable team on the field. Because the way he tries to run it, if he had his way all the time the Cowboys would be worse than the Browns in the past 30 years.

At this point I don't even care about best. All that matters is replaceability and salary cap hit. I don't think there is anything the cowboys can do to improve at this point. I think we're sunk for the next 4 or 5 seasons.

every offseason and draft. If you look back to 1991 to the present of all QBs since Aikman was the first round
draft pick. All the QBs that Jerry Jones have drafted were in the 2nd to 7th round. That tells you Jerry is cutting
corners on a great QB with talent and helps the team around him.

Im not paying Lamb that much and I'm certainly not paying Prescott anywhere near what he's looking for.
34-35m a year is what star qbs made only about 10 years ago. I think this NFL bubble is going to bust. I just don’t see how it’s sustainable to pay your guys this much when it takes so much away from your own team.
The NFL is more profitable than ever, teams should just increase the cap. That being said, it is absurdly expensive to be a fan today. Stadium prices are absurd.

For most part, I'd agree with you, except for the part that you said, "Dak is a great QB." A great QB gets you to the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP or Superbowl. A "good" QB gets to the the first round of the playoff. Dak is a B/B+ QB, good QB, NOT great.

Coming from a Cowboys Hater: Dak Prescott is a very good QB. Great stats in yardage, TD vs Int, and the leadership metrics. That being said, while he has all the leverage, he does not deserve $60M/yr or whatever it may take to be the highest paid QB in the league. I'd say mid 40sM/yr? His stats say great things but he, and the team, has consistently choked when it matters the most, the postseason. Also that salary point would allow Dallas to have a bit of wiggle room to sign others like Lamb and Parsons. Again, I detest this franchise for a wide variety of reasons not the least of which are historical in nature, but IMO they should not be offering Dak in the upper $50M, let alone $60M/yr.
