During the Heartline Roll, the body moves in an essentially straight line, while rotating around the heart line. The movie gives an first introduction to the forces on the body during this motion.

This is the last part of the Helix roller coaster at Liseberg: The Heartline Roll
Take a closer look at the motion of the train!
Do you see that it moves essentially along a straight line - although the track itself is not straight at all!
When something moves along a straight line without changing the speed, we say that it is in UNIFORM RECTILINEAR MOTION
This implies that the force from the train on the rider exactly cancels the force of gravity
But the rider - who is NOT a point particle - rotates - and the experience of the force changes the whole time. The rotation is around an imaginary line around the level of the heart - the so-called HEARTLINE.
During the rotation the force from the train changes direction in relation to the rider.
Our own coordinate system rotates together with us.
We can divide the force from the train into forces that are up, down or sideways relative to our body. In a Heartline roll, uniform rectilinear motion becomes exciting.
