Embraer has been making regional jets for quite a while, especially for the US and European markets. The E-190 series is the bigger one where you want to fly something larger than a small regional jet (like Embraer's own ERJ series) or turboprop (such as a Dash-8 or ATR-72) but smaller than a 737 or A320. It makes sense for an operator like Scoot to have E-Jet aircraft to serve low volume routes. The E2 variant is also very fuel efficient, so hopefully that means more money can go towards service (something of a negative reputation with Scoot). Also, finally a jet in the skies around here that isn't either a Boeing or an Airbus. Embraer makes excellent planes and I'm sure people would appreciate the novelty of the fact that it's not made in Europe or America.
@@Follow_ussg Malaysian operators would use the ATR for low volume services like how Firefly has done it from and to Subang Airport, but I think they could benefit from the Embraer E-Jet to complement the ATR to and from smaler airports. The E-Jet actually has range that is near the capability of the 737 or A320; I have lived in the US for a few years, and Embraer E-Jets are flown more often than the Boeing or Airbus, partly because competition meant more options and partly because they focus on frequency, so using smaller but efficient jets where you can fill the seats do mean a more decent profit margin. Therefore, I do think Scoot made the right choice with purchasing the Embraers with the hope that increased profit margins as well as decreased cost means, again, they can focus on bettering their service.
@TheOz91 There won't be a "bettering of service", rather, they'll just be able to operate into airports that were previously not accessible to their A320s, Koh Samui being one such example. And they can now open thinner routes that previously wouldn't have been viable with larger aircraft.
Smoking is prohibited on commercial flights. The ashtray is there for safety reasons in case someone breaks this rule and don't think about throwing the cigarette in the trash can with flammable paper.
Thanks for the review. I took scoot E2 Singapore Miri earlier this week, what no ones talking about is the cramped up head space and when you stand up your head literally hits the roof (I’m 179CmM). This flight is claustrophobia 101 - I didn’t take the return flight, rather rebooked on a separate flight even if it meant a 2-hour direct flight would become 7 hour with 1 crazy transit. Sorry wouldn’t take this again!!!
@@Follow_ussg no, the head room throughout the flight is same, emergency exit you get bit more leg space but that’s it. I travel a lot for work, but this isn’t a plane for me! yeah! I returned home singapore via KL, MIRI-KLIA2-Singapore.
Nice review ..been looking forward to see E-190 2 for regional jet in Southeast Asia....cabin wise though, i think A220 is much better, higher and not feeling like a regional jet.

We only have the ATR for the smaller plane in Singapore, it’s perfect for us to explore the cities around us.

Oh wow!!
Maybe you can try the emergency seat, it’s super comfortable for the journey.
I guess you took Air Asia after that?

Have you flown with ATR plane before? That is a very tiring trip home!
I was surprised by how quiet the aircraft was on takeoff.
Me too! Really surprised that it go so smooth!
So will the price be increase or decrease since the new small plane n less passenger? This is a important information ℹ️ also..
I think it’s depending on the occupancy, I got very reasonable price for this trip.
5:00 “Everything is very clean.” Of course, the plane is brand new. Try again in a few months.
Yeah, the return plane was getting dirty after a few flights.
*Nice review. The E2 is such a beauty😍.*
Thank you, it’s very comfortable! I’d fly more to explore other cities with this plane.
I was sitting just next to you in 11A/C, nice to talk to you after the flight :)

I think the chances is low, that is a popular route, they need a bigger plane :)
Usually the tray tables would be under the armrest when it's too far
Correct.
Interesting they operate to Krabi
Yeah
A bit boring here.
