Those leafsprings gave you a nice workout 💪
For a diy project, you made this look very doable.👍

Coming soon. Had a recent death in the family so things slowed down a bit. We'll be back at it full time again soon!

Nice video. The music is distracting while you are talking. Music is great between vignettes. Making videos is a learning experience. Keep working at it. This is super interesting content.

Now that you're done, I can tell you a secret. Once you used the SHP to get it to move, you could have installed a new zerk and pumped some grease into there, potentially making it very easy to finish removing. (sorry ;) Old suspension parts are an extraordinary bear to work on due to the moisture and saline baths they get for innumerable miles and years. But as LWOB said, you got a workout and now you're more fit to do the work of building a new OEV. / I'm thinking that you won't need the overloads at all since your box won't weigh anything near what the gross weight capabilities of the truck required, and you may still have a bumpy ride. What did you find once you got the finished product?

Awesome videos so far! Is there a reason you didn’t go with air suspension? Can you even get air suspension for the fuso fg?

I think you were premature in getting these springs. I understand you wanted to know the finished height, but that is easily adjusted later with springs and blocks. Also, you'll hate the overloads on the new springs. Since you won't have the wide range of loads that a truck goes through, you can just tune the springs to the finished weight and get a better ride.
Great meeting you at the Overland Expo NW. We'll be watching.

Thanks for the feedback Dave. I suppose time will tell. I suppose you move forward with what you know and then learn and adjust from there.

I leaned heavily on the experience of someone who outfits these Fusos, he mentioned I may need to make some adjustments. Time will tell.

Interesting bits and pieces there, would have been easier to understand some commentary sections if you didn't have music; or at least made it real background music.
You didn't think of replacing the OEM leaf kits with parabolic springs? Probably not that common in the North American light truck area, but super common in Australia.

Hind sight and all that, but an engine hoist rental would have been money well spent.

yes, I bought a gantry for that very purpose but hadn't assembled it for the first one. I used the gantry for the other three and it was a hundred times easier!🤷🏼‍♂️

I know this is off topic but any idea how difficult it would be to upgrade to a disk brake on all fours and delete the air brakes?

Would have to look into that! Not my area of expertise!

It would easier to switch to Dana 80 axles, not cheap, but a proven upgrade. Fuso FG doesn't have air brakes.

You should have used airbags a lot less weight a lot less weight and a lot easier to work with
