He was Cool , Down To Earth & Friendly , like we had know each for Years ! ... Most Famous ppl aren't that open & willing to talk with just some random person they didn't know ! ... Gained alot of Respect for them & him , & Never forgot that encounter ! ...

@@stevesmith7196 there was an interview with his wife and she said he couldn't stand the thought of himself not bei g in the new band, Michael cooper made that call so when he found out he was depressed for a while then he took his life. Sad ending i seen them at the swing auditorium in san bernardino ca. Bout three time's?in the mid 70's...
They decided they did not want him in the band. For one he should not have hit the group member. 2nd his personality just was not conducive for the band at that age and level. So the bottom line was attitude. The lead singer just did not want to be in a group with the man that hit him.
michael cooper the guy who made it hard on lead singers in cover bands all over, his voice is hard to replicate

I was in Vallejo following Project Soul while in the Navy. They were the baddest local band in the Frisco Bay area.
One of the things that I miss from Moving out of the CA Bay Area is attending annual ConFunkShun concerts at The Alameda County Fair and elsewhere.
