I am happy with the results. Also, for those confused about why Joker's gun exploded(?), I think Giorno turned one of the bullets into a fly, and, because each created lifeform desires to reconnect with its original form, it flew back into the gun barrel and reverted back to a bullet, jamming it
Actually, there is a proper explanation. Remember those bullets that were turned into bees during the initial clash? I'm assuming the bullets fired are considered a part of the gun since they were discharged from said gun. So the bee bullets returned to the barrel of the gun, causing it to jam and explode. Though that doesn't explain why he has it against at the end since it exploded.
Well, the gun doesn't shoot REAL bullets so much as cognitive ones. Though since those bullets ARE linked to the gun's realistic appearance, thereby transforming it similarly to the Phantom Thieves themselves, they could technically be considered part of it. As for the gun he has when Satanael comes out, I guess he could have brought out another gun in his inventory.
@@nirast2561 Then the bullets returned to the miniscule gunpowder particles that got caught in the barrel, or generally and bullet residue left on the gun
Logically the bullets would've returned to the spent casings on the ground, but who cares about logic when you have the power of friendship on your side
Fun fact: In the storyboard for this episode, there's an epilogue scene. Since the fight took place in the metaverse, it was actually Giorno's Shadow Self that died, and doing that resulted in real Giorno's brain shutting down. However, before that happened, Gold Experience Requiem saved Giorno. So technically speaking, Giorno didn't really die (if you want to consider deleted storyboard epilogue shit canon)
What was his change of heart though? Did joker steal his fabulous flair? Also joker stole the arrow so is gold experience requiem still a thing, or it’s a permanent transformation?
@@brandoneverett9153 Well, since that Arrow Head produced Requiem, perhaps he gained some sort of superiority complex? Like, his journey to this point was just so the power of Requiem tainted his mind into thinking all he desires is just as well? The "Treasure" is a physical manifestation of the core to their darkness, like the Olympic medal from the first guy in the game is what drove his ego into overdrive in the first place. So that arrowhead represented the core of some sort of darkness that Giorno manifested In the end, Joker only took his Treasure, not the real arrowhead. Once in reality it very well might become just like the real arrowhead, but the original should still exist wherever it was left
By the way, the storyboards confirm that the real world version of Giorno outside the metaverse had his cognitive shutdown negated by GER, meaning that both of them technically survived this battle.
i'm sure someone already brought this up, but the beginning of the fight was Life Shot, not Return to Zero. You can see Ren's body get pummeled and him then return to it, receiving the pain
Maruki’s persona is literally a better version of GER because he can on top of denying reality also manipulate reality to his will and joker still beat him. Maruki even admits if he tried to redo the fight over again he would still lose everytime also denying reality is still a form of reality manipulation which Joker negates out right.
Regarding what you were pondering at the end, there are plenty of battles where the loser powers up second. An interesting case is Shadow vs Mewtwo, where Shadow *starts* powering up first, but Mewtwo powers up *during* it and manages to finish by the time Shadow is ready.
I think other cases where the winner changed form last (not counting times where only one of them changes form, or both change form at about the same time) are...Goku vs Superman (S1), Kirby vs Majin Buu, Guts vs Nightmare, Wolverine vs Raiden, Zoro vs Erza, Naruto vs Ichigo, Ryu vs Jin, Mario vs Sonic (S5), Ultron vs Sigma, Hulk vs Broly, Batman vs Iron Man, Thor vs Vegeta, and Goku vs Superman (S10).
This is the first time a fight including the Stands from JoJo where someone actually managed to destroy the Stand, Kenshiro who's the only other character to defeat a JoJo character wasn't able to destroy the Stand but he was able to kill Jotaro thereby destroying Star Platinum.
- That out-of-body thing near the start wasn't Return to Zero. It was the sensory overload trick that makes the target's mind think too fast for their body. - Interestingly, one detail about Personas that wasn't brought up here is that having one protects willpower from complete erasure. There's one major antagonist who can erase a person's will as soon as it reaches their cognitive world, but one man who had just the spark of a Persona managed to keep his will intact. Actually, this is kind of like how the Phantom Thieves could escape imprisonment when Yaldabaoth banished them (after making the masses think they don't exist), or how Jail Shadows were incapable of extracting Desires from the Phantom Thieves in Strikers. - Boomstick just had to fit in two more Sopranos references in the aftermath, didn't he? (Those being the "varsity Death Battle winner" line, and "Hey, Wiz! Did...Did you hear what I said?".) - The storyboard has an extended ending that shows what became of Giorno in reality (as this fight took place in his Metaverse Palace, thus against an identical Shadow Self). Oh, and the animator also provided a "real ending" (Giorno still dies, but much sooner). - They're actually releasing short trailers for Bowser's and Eggman's top minions - they've already started with Kamek. Wonder who else is gonna play a big role? I can guess...Sage, Bowser Jr., Metal Sonic, King Boo, Time Eater...
16:40 Fyi, them saying that isn't literally meaning a "best out of 100" flip It's moreso, "in so many fights, who would get their win conditions off more". Like in Superman vs Goku, Goku is far more likely to start out with hand-to-hand and be dominated by Superman's higher stats instead of doing something wildly out of character like; researching Superman, gathering tons of Kryptonite near a magical red star and tossing Superman to it in order to beat them. The latter is just far less probable and circumstantial in comparison to what Goku does against practically every opponent: power up and fight. In the case of Joker vs Giorno, it just means Joker is far more likely to regain his will and one-shot with Sinful Shell or any other Almighty attack than Giorno is to immediately attain GER - or if they already have it - immediately try to RTZ all of Joker's attacks and transmute their objects.
What was interesting about this fight was that everyone thought it was a one-shot, but people couldn't decide who one-shotted who. It pretty much came down to whether Joker could get passed GER. If he could then he wins due to stats, if he couldn't then Giorno wins and yeah that's basically what happened. Vs debaters pretty much agree Bowser vs Eggman is extremely close due to having similar cosmologies and it just depends on how one interprets feats. I personally think Eggman should win since he does have a way around one of Bowser's biggest win cons with the Boos or Kamek stealing the emeralds or Phantom Ruby with the super forms. Both boos and Kamek's magic are unable to effect Mario when he is invincible with the stars and the Super forms should at least be comparable to that. Even if Kamek steals the Phantom Ruby before Eggman can use it both Forces and Sonic Channel story shows he has spares to use and he could just make his own copy of Kamek and Boos to steal it back. Also while Bowser has ways around mind control and potentially the metal virus as far as I know he doesn't have a defense against memory manipulation which is something the Ruby can do and I think could give Eggman the win. Even with that I still have a gut feeling Bowser will win.
You know funny thing is if Joker were to steal Giorno’s heart none of Giorno’s stats would actually matter because Joker wouldn’t be fighting Giorno he would be fighting Giorno’s shadow
