"Actually, that's not true... She said they had no chance if they didn't work with Sonic." Ehh... technically right, but not exactly. She analyzed millions of scenarios, saw that neither side could win alone, but didn't think about the idea of working together with Sonic until the eleventh hour. 29:27, Not the biggest error they made. That would be them thinking that Tracer doged a point blank shot from Widowmaker when the latter actually shot through the former to hit her actual target. They did call it accurately with Widowmaker vs. Black Widow, though.
No, they werent wrong about Sage. Throughout the game she calculates multiple times sonics chances against the titans and sonic proves her wrong. Thats what theyre referring to
They’re not even making an error here. Sage indeed believed multiple times that Sonic stood no chance against the Titans on his own and yet he proved her wrong multiple times showing that her calculations and predictions are not infallible in the slightest and can 100% be wrong. What Josh was mistaking was the part where she was dealing with The End where she decided that Eggman teaming up with Sonic would help and be the only way for them to defeat The End, but by this point, Sage now knew Sonic very well as a person and as a fighter. Sage should know absolutely nothing about Bowser and his army by comparison similar to how she knew nothing about Sonic at the beginning of Frontiers and therefore wrongly predicted his fate and the outcome between him and the Titans. Therefore, her calculations and predictions wouldn’t be very helpful in this fight.
Here's something I just discovered about that amazing background song, Game Over. Brandon Yates did help make it, of course he makes another banger. But it was also in collaboration with Tyler Anderson and Victor Borba... aka the guy who sang Virgil's theme in Devil May Cry 5!
10:16 Infinite increased gravity. King Boo, being intangible and thus unaffected, thought on his feet and used it against them. Meanwhile, Bowser didn’t do anything because he was busy, using magic to sustain his troops and prevent them from being crushed.
Yeah I had to watch the fight over originally to notice bowser literally had to stop his own troops from getting crushed. Infinite annihilated a chunk of bowsers army instantly with that attack, so I know some people probably got bothered by him dying that way but it’s not like he didn’t do anything. If bowser didn’t shield his own people infinite could have wiped out most of the koopa troop in seconds.
Well yeah, one was a film from three whole decades ago that teased a sequel that never ended up happening while the other is on their way to getting a whole trilogy. 😂
When you think about, there must've been a reason why Kamek has been Bowser's right hand for so long besides raising the koopa king right? This battle proves it lol
He is the leader of the Magikoopas for a damn good reason and it's not just because he's Bowser's foster father. He is a beast with magic and could probably give some notable wizards like Harry Dresden or John Constantine a run for their money.
Y'know, I feel not enough love is given to Bowser's final words. To have been memed all these years, just to finally let out his own "So Long!" before punching Eggman - like the castle in the analysis - _out of orbit!_ I read a comment elsewhere that said "This Death Battle reminded people why they love Death Battle". I'm inclinded to agree.
I do disagree with some aspects of the conclusion. I think it was a bad move to use lesser feats and scaling for both Bowser and Eggman's mechs to just say Bowser easily has the stat edge when their own research presented says they would actually be close to even. They already get a lot of crap from Sonic fans for lowballing the verse so no idea why they went this route when equal stats is more interesting and doesn't change the outcome. Also, as you pointed out, Sage was not incorrect in her plans for the Titans she knew all along Sonic was the missing key. Very weird point that is easily proven wrong. Other than that, I think the outcome is fair for their interpretation of lore and feats. Not that it matters much, the fight and pre-analysis was peak and I like both characters, so I'm pretty happy all thing's considered.
Well, not really. She didn't know all along. In fact, when she first met sonic, she actively believed Giganto would end him. That was clearly wrong. She also thought The End was completely unbeatable, it wasn't until having plenty of interactions with Sonic and him proving her previous calculations incorrect again and again that she saw a possible winning outcome. So no, she didn't know all along. In fact, it wasn't until near the end of the game that she truly believed they had a chance.
I like to point out that Kamek and Jr really were the MVPs buying so much time for Bowser. I counted down the seconds Metal was in his super form, precisely at 50 seconds. The two manage to wear Metal down just by shielding Fury Bowser long enough for Metal to lose super at the right moment to be decimated.
- And it wasn't even Star Child Yoshi who did that to Raphael Raven - that was a NORMAL Yoshi. - Culex 3D was no joke, as his new third dimension gave him the power to "consume all time and space" (which is shockingly similar to what Solaris and Time Eater were going to do), and Bowser can outlast this kind of power even without invincibility items. Okay, he WAS in a team of five (alongside fellow Star Children Mario and Peach), but so was Culex with his 3D Crystals - even one of them is potent enough to fully restore his power! - The Chaos Emeralds' power to "give thoughts power" does sound similar to Bowser's innate magical ability to make what he imagines happen. I wonder if this is what gives the Star Children their power? There's similar things with Peach's immense wish magic, Wario's ability to not feel like dying, and Luigi's dreamy might, after all. (All the more reason I REALLY wanna see Luigi vs Riku now...!) - Oh, Infinite's apparently fine, albeit his ego's even more shattered. Still, he was out of commission 8 seconds after he showed up - that's even sooner than MICHELANGELO (even if Mikey was done super dirty, but that was Season 1)! - "HOW DARE YOU! KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF MY SOOOOOOOON!!!" Chills. Every. Time. - Started with plywood, ended with plywood. And with all those 1-Up sounds, seems the Koopa Troop's casualties are being overturned as well. - Hope we see more Alternate Scenarios in the future (like, I dunno, Ash being revived by Pokemon tears, or using other Pokemon besides the chosen six). - You've no idea how hard I laughed at the Next Time. (Though that is in part because it started with a scene that we Fire Emblem Awakening players might recognize. Ah well, I suppose Lucina vs Grovyle may get its chance another day.)

Do I agree with the outcome: No, I think Eggman had the power, smarts, and versatility needed to win the majority of scenarios. And the research crew underestimated things like The Phantom Ruby and Eggman’s expansive gem collection. Do I think this episode is peak fiction personified and still one of Death Battle’s best productions yet: ABSO-FREAKING-LUTLEY! 😆🔥🔥🔥🔥
Eggman hands down had the speed and intelligence advantage, but bowsers better access to his trumpcards/counters to what eggman can throw at him and unparalleled strength and endurance gives bowser a definitive edge (remember bowser has more options for invulnerability, counter for things like the metal virus and phantom ruby, and the base line ability to do things that eggman NEEDS the chaos emeralds or a specialized machine to do.) there are for sure situations where eggman wins but bowser i think takes the crown more offten.
I honestly think they downplayed Eggman a bit, underestimating some of his heavier hitters. Not that I necessarily disagree with the verdict, it’s THAT CLOSE of a matchup, I just don’t think their reasoning is all that airtight. In an army battle, strategy and intelligence is far greater of a factor than they seemed to make it.
But they explained that that Eggman ha to be commanding everything at once. Sage is his only real Lieutenant, with Metal and Infinite not hown to be able to commnd his troops. Having to direct your entire army to a ever-adapting battlefield, and figus on Bowser is a herculean task. Bowser only had to focus on the Doctor, as his army has more commanders, and has the thought process to engage in small unit tactics without Bowser needing to micromanage.
But all of that is focused on a select few individuals (Eggman, Sage, and MAYBE Metal Sonic). This means far less delegation (espeically since Sage still ultimately takes orders from Eggman as well) and far less initiative on the Eggman Empire's part. As a result, the army, while having good tactics, can be delayed by constnatly needing to micromanage everything on the battlefield. And even if you're highly intelligent, that doesn't always apply to wisdom (Eggman's made plenty of foolhardy mistakes and Sage is still young for an AI). Remember, the first casualty of war is the battle plan. EDIT: Something to also keep in mind is that power ups were brought into play and it VERY MUCH complicates matters for planning. The issue isn't simply 'making a plan' at this point, it's planning for millions upon millions of factors that could come into play at any moment. Even for Sage and Eggman, that's an insane task to consider.
@@Uesr2004DActually, Metal Sonic is a pretty good counter. 29:02 Sorta... While Sage did come to the conclusion that Eggman needed to work with Sonic, that was after Sonic spent considerable time in Cyber Space. She witnessed Sonic's feats and tenacity firsthand, making the notion of Sonic being a valuable asset a more valid case. Additionally, Sage was initially restricted by Eggman to simulate such scenarios. At one point, she concedes that Sonic's goals went from being impossible to achieve to improbable. She is working within the confides of the data limited to her. Towards the end of the game, and after much humanizing, Sage convinces Eggman that they needed Sonic's help. Not just because it had the highest probability of success, but because it was Sage's 'hope'. So you and Wiz are both sort of right. Sage realized that she needed Sonic's help, but she had to come around to it. Sonic proved that he can pull off something she originally deemed impossible. In terms of Death Battle, fighters have no knowledge of their opponent. What Wiz was alluding to was that Sage can be wrong, even with millions of battle plans. Bowser and the Koppa Troop are just built different. With prep, Sage and Eggman might have even the odds, but the same goes for Bowser, who might opt to steal Eggman's stuff. Death Battle looks at these characters at their maximum potential with what comes naturally to them, not things that are made specifically for that particular battle. So when Wiz says that Sage was wrong, he is trying to explain why the DB Team came to the conclusion that Sage's calculations are not infallible. Sorry if I come off as preachy. I just wanted to show that you remembered correctly, yet at the same time, Wiz's words also have some basis.
I agree, they def nerfed SAGE's planning skills, but I still think Eggy would've been overwelmed more often than not by the sheer variety of Bowser's powers, Kamek's shenanigans, and the Koopa Troop spamming those Mario items. The good Doctor certainly could've won in multiple scenarios, which DB makes it sound like was physically impossible due to "billions of strategies that the EE just couldn't plan for", but no, that's definitely wrong, because SAGE absolutely would've accounted for every variable long before Operation Catfish was even in the mobilization phase. But Eggman just lacks the consistent reliability that Bowser, his forces, and all of their abilities, simply have in spades. SAGE would've known the only way to guarantee a win would've been with Mario or Sonic's help, but fat chance convincing either of them to help conquer Bowser's castle, and probably the Mushroom Kingdom. Any attempt to reach out to either of them just would've stacked Bowser's side with the Plumber and/or the Hedgehog, making Eggman's already-unreliable chances outright impossible. In short: In the event of an Eggman loss, SAGE is right to join the Koopa Troop and plot their downfall from the inside. With the Chaos Emeralds, or even some of Bowser's own trump cards, she could single-handedly rebuild the entire Eggman Empire in secret, revive Eggman, sabotage the Koopa Troop's advantages, betray Bowser fresh after a particularly devastating defeat by the Mario Brothers, then deliver the whole of the universe on a silver plate to the newly-resurrected Dr. Eggman, all in one fell swoop.
Actually Josh, it is true. You’re mistaken it for when she suggested that Eggman asked for Sonic’s help in escaping cyberspace. She did think that The End was unstoppable
No, it wouldn’t. They literally showed in the post-fight analysis that in an alternate scenario that Bowser could just use the Wonder Flower against Lightman Eggman by simply turning him into a Goomba for example that he has no resistance against.
I love how much info they had for this fight that they needed to show off other endings that could have happened. Though I must admit anyone else feel like the koopalings were an after thought? I don't think I saw them at all in the fight. Also the moment Bowser saw Jr get hit ya gotta know they had to at least have metal sonic get trashed for that one. And damn if you couldn't feel the anger in the voice actor who did Bowser for that. Well made DB... Though with that all said if we're letting mario party in why didn't we see any sonic shuffle powers hehe.
I imagine that Koopalings would’ve delayed the fight while not providing any interesting interactions, sort of like how they removed Infinite early so he didn’t send the fight to a standstill or anything. The Koopalings are a seven-pack though, so leaving them out is best.
Watching this makes me wonder if bowser should have rematch with ganon. Maybe them and army's going against each other. Or perhaps king dede and his army vs bowser and his army
Little upset they didn't include fleetway continuity as well, cause that version of eggman once had a multi-part story arc where their combined power turned him into a nigh-omnipotent god weak only to the grey control emerald.
That's because Archie and Fleetway are different continuities while IDW is canon with the games. In fact, it starts 7 months after the events of Sonic Forces.

A lot of the things they gave Bowser like the Grand Star, the Star Rod, and the Wonder Flower weren't his. He stole those items and lost them when mario got them back so letting him have all of them for this fight doesn't make sense where as all of Eggman's stuff were things he built himself and the Chaos Emeralds are a sort of grey area since they don't belong to anyone thus are completely up for grabs. Also adding functions from the mario party games as abilities is just stupid since they are just board game mechanics and not anything we see Kamek do outside of the party games and I'm pretty sure that Bowser needs Kamek to return from the dead and he's beaten by super metal sonic.
From my understanding they made everyone think that gravity got turned up by... let's say 100. Because of that stomp foes like bob-ombs, koopas, goombas got wrecked from it. But king boo who couldn't care if it was a trillion times more gravity was able to move freely, and with all the mischief of a boo picked to drop a thromp, a gravity damage dealing enemy, onto Infinite.
I do feel like they may have given bowser a bit too much of an edge in this. The wonderflower and the dream stone aren't his. They're things he had to steal to use. I don't disagree with the results, and I still think it's wonderful. But just a little quirk to me.
So are the chaos emeralds and the phantom ruby. Neither of those were Eggman's either, he had to steal or find those to use. This argument is inherently flawed.
@@RaggedyVelvet Not really? Chaos Emeralds I'll agree to, but the Phantom Ruby Is more inherently his. THe heroes never really use it, and it's only ever really been in Eggmans hands. *LONG LIVE THE KING!*
May his reign be long and prosperous...and may Peach give him a chance for once.
To clarify, she didn't believe the Titans were beatable and saw a slim chance of winning when considering Sonic into the equation. Which means she's only able to make calculations based on what she knows. She didn't know Sonic as much until multiple confrontations during the story, where she was proven wrong time and time again. Thus made her consider having Sonic help Eggman for that slim chance.
Bowser: Well, you know what they say about making omelettes; you gotta break a few eggs! Bwa ha ha ha ha ha!
Didn't care who won. Just as long as it was epic which it definitely was.
You have more maturity and sense than most Death Battle fans I've interacted with.

Heck, sometimes a character that doesn't get much respect does get that within the battle itself (i.e. Superfriends Aquaman).

i noticed how death battle was, especially bowser vs ganondorf where they even got facts incorrect, and the experts actually agreed that bowser should have won. here, they actually do real research into both sides
This is probably my favorite battle, up there with Saitama vs Popeye and Omniman vs Homelander.
Definitelly my favorite song, IT'S A BANGER!
Game Over is definitely one of Brandon Yates’ best works! Love how E.G.G.M.A.N.’s leitmotif echoes with it!
"Actually, that's not true... She said they had no chance if they didn't work with Sonic."
Ehh... technically right, but not exactly. She analyzed millions of scenarios, saw that neither side could win alone, but didn't think about the idea of working together with Sonic until the eleventh hour. Granted part of that was in accordance to Eggman's biases, but even then the chance calculated was more slim than it apparently should've been.
This was up there as the best Death Battle. Lots of love and passion throughout the episode and the fight and animations were fire.
Great episode, and again my favorite fight of the year.
Note: When Sage was talking about working together with Sonic, she was specifically talking about The End, not the titans.
Regardless of who wanted whom to win, the death battle itself was gloriously animated and truly shows an epic war that makes both sides look amazing.
Love how Bowser puts himself in front of the Death Egg Laser to protect his troops. Thats the mark of a true King. Also...DAMN Dry Bowserlooks so awsome here!
Fun Fact: this ain't Victor's first Death Battle track either
Oh! That’s sick! I can hear it now that you mention it!

Leave it to Eggman to mess with forces beyond his comprehension.
He does that a lot, from what I hear.
"twitter is going to be absoloutly insufferable"... you just realized that now?
It's always like that, regardless of topic
This has to be my favorite death battle just due to the animation
All hail the King.
It's interesting that both Bowser and Eggman got live action adaptations but only the latter was good
Well yeah, one was a film from three whole decades ago that teased a sequel that never ended up happening while the other is on their way to getting a whole trilogy. 😂
Senator Armstrong vs Saxton Hal sounds like a more interesting fight than Senator Armstrong vs President Valentine
4:35 There's a reason this one has 2 sponsors
Never mess with a parent's kid that's how you catch hands.
Bowser gave Metal Sonic the "World of Light" treatment.
"twitter is going to be absoloutly insufferable" oh i didnt realize today was a day ending with a Y.
Y'know, I feel not enough love is given to Bowser's final words. To have been memed all these years, just to finally let out his own "So Long!" before punching Eggman - like the castle in the analysis - _out of orbit!_
I read a comment elsewhere that said "This Death Battle reminded people why they love Death Battle".
Glad I found this channel.
We got a finale budget in the third episode. That's how you know it's gonna be a good season
''How much salt can Infinite take?''
''Ehhhh... probably two weeks worth of rock salt.''
Seen it and all I can say is that this is more awesome than all might vs might guy!
(All the more reason I REALLY wanna see Luigi vs Riku now...!)
- Oh, Infinite's apparently fine, albeit his ego's even more shattered.

Oh good I'm not the only one.
It might be the best death battle
Meanwhile I wait patiently evermore for the Kratos Vs Asura fight.....
As Frieza once said: When you come at the King... *DON'T*
Bowser has the benefit of having really busted Magic, Eggman is just a really smart guy who built as lot of shit. He’s still human.
@@Uesr2004DActually, Metal Sonic is a pretty good counter. There’s nothing to suggest he couldn’t copy Kameks own magic via copying abilities that should not be able to have that effect, like Silvers Psychokinesis and Shadow’s Chaos Control. There’s so many ways you can give Eggman the win, the verdict is true but also trying to convince you why they had Bowser won.
@@Linear_Line_423 thing is, bowser had multiple power cancelling abilities from the get go among his troops, which would shut down metal sonic's chances right away
Eggman, all in one fell swoop.
so many reactions and no on comments on the sick burn with the toad line
Actually Josh, it is true. You’re mistaken it for when she suggested that Eggman asked for Sonic’s help in escaping cyberspace. She did think that The End was unstoppable
They didn't let robotnik use his light man form the fight would've been different
No, it wouldn’t. They literally showed in the post-fight analysis that in an alternate scenario that Bowser could just use the Wonder Flower against Lightman Eggman by simply turning him into a Goomba for example that he has no resistance against.
Shame that they forgot the time bowser was an op skylander
IT'S TIME FOR A DILF BATTLLLLLLLLLE!
I have a idea for a Death Battle, since they already made Galactus Vs Unicron, then how about Loki Vs Megatron? What to you guys think?

My favorite so far,
By the way, when and where did Super Eggman happen?

So wait did Infinite kill Goomboss or was it an illusion?
Both. The illusions somehow kill people
From my understanding they made everyone think that gravity got turned up by... let's say 100.

@@RaggedyVelvetWas about to make this same argument, Bowser owns the Wonder Flower to the exact same extent that Eggman does the Chaos Emeralds…
@@RaggedyVelvet Not really? Chaos Emeralds I'll agree to, but the Phantom Ruby Is more inherently his. THe heroes never really use it, and it's only ever really been in Eggmans hands. The wonderflower however is exclusive to a single kingdom that bowser just doesn't have control over anymore, and the dream stone was ripped from him by the bros. Heck the whole inhaling thing also shouldn't have been given to him as a benefit because that was a part of the vacuum shrooms Fawful gave him rather then be an intrinsic thing he could do. Something that if I recall was also lost at the end of that game.
Like, by a similar token, why DIDN'T they give Eggman access to creatures he's controlled or manipulated like chaos or dark Gaia or the Gizoids or anything like that?

BEHOLD, THE TRUE STRENGTH, OF THE KING OF KOOPAS!!
I'll admit I don't quite agree, but it was pretty close either way so I can't be too mad.
For Example I do think Eggman had counters to stealing (and I'm not talking about the forcejewels before anyone brings that up) and the chaos emeralds should have been able to protect from transmutations considering it healed Sonic from the Metal Virus and the Super forms should protect from magic similar to how invincibility stars protect Mario from Kamek's magic.
There's other stuff, but the fight was so good I'm not too bothered by it.
