Barry singing with his chest voice is same one who same one who sang lead on Too much heaven. They all three have massive vocal range. Check out Fanny be tender with my love (video). ❤❤❤ wrote Diana Ross’ Chain reaction, Dionne Warwick Heartbreaker, Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton Islands in the stream, Celine Dion Immortality and Barbara Striesand Guilty to name a few
The audience was watching a nationally broadcast TV show. They were instructed to be quiet and stay put until the end of the number. The studio had lighted signs flashing "SILENCE Please"
I think back in 1975 they told the audience to not move!🤣. Yes, go down The Bee Gees rabbit hole! They were not only exceptional singers but excellent songwriters! They wrote several hits for other top notch songs. Since you like Dolly, one of her best hits (with Kenny Rogers), was ISLANDS IN THE STREAM. The Bee Gees wrote that one! You want to check out other songs they wrote for others, check out: Woman in Love, Guilty, What kind of fool,Barbra Streisand Immortality, Celine Dion Heartbreaker, Dionne Warwick Chain Reaction, Diana Ross If I Can’t Have You, Yvonne Elliman Grease, Frankie Valli Emotions, Samantha Sang I Just Want to be your everything; Shadow Dancing; Love is Thicker than water, Andy Gibb who is their younger brother (he was too young at the time to join them in the group but he had a pretty great solo career before he passed at an early age) BUT PLEASE STILL DO MORE BEE GEES TOO: (I’m not sure what you’ve done before but a Bee Gees playlist would help( More Than a Woman You Should Be Dancing (a video is there where you will see all 4 brothers on stage singing) How Deep Is Your Love Fanny Be Tender with my Love Love You Inside Out To Love Somebody How Deep is your love Love So Right Alone Run to me 1989 live medley How Can you mend a broken heart Night Fever Kiss of Life One You Win Again
All 3 can SANG! This is just before their "disco era" catapulted them to superstardom. The earier stuff featured Robin singing lead ir sharing lead as on this song; notice Maurice is doing the falsetto here but Barry did it on the record--Maurice excelled at bass, piano, and arrangement also. They do not read music & were not trained, natural talent, and that includes their younger brother, Andy Gibb, also amazingly gifted❤❤❤❤
You are just now beginning on the amazing long rabbit hole of The Bee Gees. This is their "middle" period of the 70's and the start of their disco era. They were HUGE in the 60's when they became international stars when Barry was 20 and Maurice and Robin were a mere 17 years old!!!! Think about that! Then they had a later period of hits in the 80's/90's and then again the the early 2000's before Maurice's tragic death in 2003! FOUR decades of amazing music that gets more appreciated every year. I can't express how much I love them. YOU HAVEN'T EVEN HEARD OF THEIR LITTLE BROTHER ANDY YET, HAVE YOU????
Fresh, unfiltered, completely transparent, live, just tremendous raw talent. It is the same way when you watch them write, perform, and produce in the studio. Their gift is stunning.
- You should be dancing - Tragedy - For whom the bells toll - Jive talkin - Night Fever - You stepped into my life - Fanny be tender with my love - Love is thicker than water ( Andy Gibb ) - Shadow Dancing ( Andy Gibb ) - Barry Gibb wrote ' Woman in Love ' for Barbara Streisand - I started a joke - Robin Gibb - Massachusetts
This song was when they started using their falsetto. Back in the day when filming for TV audiences were asked to sit and watch not to move or make any noise. The TV show Midnight Special was where all the top artists strived to be on. It premiered 1972. The Midnight Special was noted for featuring musical acts performing live, which was unusual since most television appearances during the era showed performers lip-synching to prerecorded music. The series also occasionally aired vintage footage of older acts, such as Bill Haley & His Comets.
Absolutely loved your reaction. You could react to one Bee Gees song a week and it would take you years to get through all of their great songs. One just as great as the last one. I have over 150 favorite Bee Gees songs. Five decades of pure gold. They wrote all of their own songs. Dolly and Kenny Rogers sang their song Islands In The Stream. More of their songs Fanny Be Tender With My Love. Alive. I Started A Joke. Tragedy. For Whom The Bell Tolls. (Video under the Brooklyn Bridge). Run To Me. To Love Somebody. Love You Inside Out. Bodyguard. When He's Gone. Mr Natural. Kiss Of Life. Living Eyes. Alone. I Can't See Nobody. And The Sun Will Shine. Morning Of My Life. Wedding Day. Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow. Words. Tomorrow Tomorrow. Wedding Day. Shine Shine. My World. Wouldn't I Be Someone. You Win Again. One. Words. Love So Right. How Do You Mend A Broken Heart. Massachusetts. My World. Edge Of The Universe. World. Lonely Days. Jive Talkin. Hold Me Like A Child. A Heart Like Mine. This Is Where I Came In. New York Mining Disaster. Spirits Having Flown. Juliet. First Of May. Holiday. (Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away. The Only Love. Ordinary Lives. I Saw A New Morning. Don't Forget To Remember. Saved By The Bell. Tokyo Nights. There's a few to get you started. You won't regret it. They do not disappoint. Bonus. There is a forth brother that was 12 and 9 years younger than the older ones. He was born the year the Bee Gees were established. He was amazing too. First 3 songs hit number one. Please react to Andy Gibb on the Midnight Special singing, I Just Wanna Be Your Everything. They announced in early 1988 he would be joining the Bee Gees that year as a permanent member but sadly he passed away on March 10th just 5 days after his 30th birthday. It was heartbreaking. If you react to them live at the One Night Only Concert for the song (Our Love) Don't Throw It All Away they start the song but Andy recorded it originally and they incorporated part of one of his live performances in with it. The four of them also have a live of You Should Be Dancing where Andy joined them on stage. A truly great moment. Enjoy your journey.
Greatest group of all time! Their later stuff is excellent too. Alone, This Is Where I Came In, You Win Again and Too Whom The Bells Toll. They also wrote Islands In The Stream for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers which was a monster hit. The Bee Gees had a younger brother too who was equally talented. His name is Andy Gibb. He had a brief but brilliant solo career before his early passing. Songs like Everlasting Love, Shadow Dancing and Desire are worth checking out.❤
Bee gees wrote Islands in the stream for Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers. Best country song ever. They wrote Immortality, which they sang with Celine Dion. They wrote Barbra Streisands album Guilty, on which they sing backup and Barry does award winning Guilty and What kind of fool. They did many with Olivia Newton John, including Come on Over, Rest your Love on Me and Face to Face. They did Heartbreaker for Dionne Warwick, and Chain Reaction for/with Diana Ross, as well as coproduced with MJ the same album called Eaten Alive
I am 60. I did not grow up listening to my parent's music either. I don't know why people think that the younger generation should be familiar with this music either. I'm sorry that so many of my generation give you guys such a hard time about not knowing old music and even get down right insulting about it. Thanks for listening with an open mind and being willing to learn about music you haven't heard before. Enjoy!
@llschnitz No people shouldn’t be rude. I didn’t “listen” to my parents music either but I know the songs because they played it all the time. Just like my kids know the music that my husband and I listen to. A lot of it they wouldn’t choose on their own. They do like a lot of old songs though.
I enjoy your reactions! BTW, Bee Gees wrote the 3-4 songs you've reacted to so far -- #1 or top 5 hits. As of 1967, Bee Gees wrote almost everything they recorded. 99%. When they were pre-teens and teenagers, they performed a mix of covers and the songs big brother Barry composed (12 yrs old when he was already steadily writing songs) . When they were signed to a 5-year contract by NEMS, the Beatles' management group, as 20 (Barry) and 17 (twins), the hits came frequently, and all three brothers were writing. Published catalogue? Over 1000 songs, to include whole albums they wrote for other artists-- Kenny Rogers, who sang a HUGE #1 hit with Dolly Parton "Islands in the Stream," a must-react-to track by the Bee Gees. Barbara Streisand-- a top-charting album with one Billboard Hot 100 #1 "Woman in Love" and two top 5 releases in "Guilty" and "What Kind of Fool?" These are duets with Bee Gee Barry Gibb. Dionne Warwick --a top hit "Heartbreaker" and a best-selling album. Diana Ross a top UK /European hit "Chain Reaction." A #1 hit for Yvonne Elliman --"If I Can't Have You" A top-charter in Canada, UK, Europe "Immortality" by Celine Dion. A US #3 for Samantha Sang and top hit cover for Destiny's Child-- "Emotion." And Barry Gibb wrote the title song for the film "Grease" which was given to 60's legend Frankie Valli-- a #1 hit. Hundreds of artists covered the Bee Gees' songs, notably, Janis Joplin, Elvis, Tom Jones, Elton John, Nina Simone, etc.
All 3 of these brothers that make up the group of the beegees can sing and sing well better than most people. And the three part harmonies hugh goddess move this butter baby.
Maurice, Robin, & Barry. Barry is the eldest & the only one still alive today. Maurice & Robin are fraternal twins. Robin does a lot of the main singing.
Best group ever! The audience were told to stay still...something to do with sound and live performances. Try Jive Talking, Run to Me from 1973, Love you inside and out, Love so Right, More than a Woman with lyrics, Tragedy audio...that's just a few from the 70s to kick on with. A lovely special video is making of Immortality with Celine Dion. They wrote the song for her and sing backup. Will blow you away. Thoroughly enjoying your reactions, especially to the Bee Gees.
Bee Gees are one of my favorites, For Whom the Bell Tolls which was one of their last 2003, "One" 1989, To Love Somebody in 1969. They had hits from the 60s-the the early 2000s, More than a Women, Night Fever, Alone and so many others. You also need to get into Hall & Oates starting with I Can't Go For That.
Sometimes back in those days tv audiences were instructed to basically remain reserved. But The Bee Gees are the real deal. Their catalog is huge spanning 5 decades. Amazing body of work on top of their vocal skills. They wrote many hits for other artists too. Thanks for your reaction.
The audience was on Quaalude's! Barry Gibb is the second most successful songwriter & producer in music history. They had six straight number 1's & had 5 hits in the top 10 at the same time in the Spring of 1978, are the 6th biggest-selling artists in music. Nobody can come close to their vocal ability.
The song where Barry Gibb discovers his falsetto!! The song was recorded without all the falsetto and their producer, Arif Mardin, said, “someone needs to go out and scream! Barry tried it and the falsetto began! The recorded version is much different than the live version and you’ll hear a big difference between the two versions!!
Recording this song is when Barry discovered his falsetto. Maurice added the high parts for this live performance, but it’s Barry on the studio version. Definitely a must hear!! Please react to FANNY BE TENDER. Also, to Samantha Sang EMOTION with lots of backing vocals by Barry. Be sure to include “Bee Gees” in titles of any related reactions to make them easier for fans to find.
Crazy story behind this song - before they recorded it, the iconic falsetto was yet to be discovered. If you listen to all their previous songs, you'll notice there is little to no falsetto until it came to this song in which they were working with a new producer at the time. Since they were struggling to stay noticed with only the odd hit every few years, they all agreed that they were in dire need of a new sound so he suggested Barry try an Aerosmith type scream. Barry gave it a go and this AMAZING falsetto you hear came out of nowhere and hilariously he had no idea he could do it XD That's why in the recorded version, the last few choruses are just him going to town with the falsetto cause it just worked. And it was down the rabbit hole from there lol
I am the same age as Maurice and Robin. They’ve been my favorite group since high school, along with Elvis as solo artist. Go back to their sixties hits and check out each decade. You’ll enjoy it!❤
This was just before the disco phase, I really don't think of them as disco. R&B/ Hip Hop/ a little country. They wrote many songs for others in the industry...their catalog is over a 1000 songs I believe.
YAASS.. CV.. Robin (in the middle) was always my favorite (older bro Barry - on the right - was usually the lead singer).. .this is one whole group... everyone one of those Gibb boys could hit any of those notes on any day of the week (check out Maurice on bass, on the left.. hittin' those high counter-notes!)... appreciate your reaction!
Check out ‘Immortality’, a Bee Gees song written for Celine Dion, and they do her backing vocals…excellent! That slow part in the middle of Nights On Broadway was the first time they used their high falsettos. And try ‘Alone’, (the official video) for another super high, upbeat masterpiece.
Yes! Move! I think the audience was told to stay still so as not to be a distraction, or they just didn't know how to dance to this. It was a pretty new kind of sound, with the Funk.
Please do other songs recorded by other artists that The Bee Gees wrote. Some include: If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) -- went to #1 Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand)- went to #1!. In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on her Guilty CD, and Barry did 2 duets with her. And he did most of the background vocals on a lot of the songs. They won a Grammy for best song by a group or duo for Guilty. Islands in the Stream (Kenny Rogers & Dolly Partons) - went to #1. In fact, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on Kenny's "Eyes that See in the Dark" CD with Barry doing a lot of background vocals. Heartbreaker (Deion Warwick). In fact, The Bee Gees wrote every song on this CD too. This was her best selling CD! The Bee Gees also did the Background vocals. Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) - went to #1 in several European countries! And yes, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals. Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees (went to number 1 in several countries),also sung background. The live 1997 from Vegas is excellent! More Than a Woman (Tavares) Love Me (Yvonne Elliman) Come on Over (Olivia Newton John) Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it. Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli), went #1 Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer) Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;). Andy's 3 released solo songs all went to #1!
They also have another brother who is famous ... Andy Gibb. There was also a sister who could sing but she never went public with it ... she went behind the scenes.
Some songs they wrote for others that are worth listening to - To Love Somebody, their version is amazing, but Michael Bolton and Michael Buble both did great covers. So did Nina Simone. Elvis covered Words, and they wrote Woman in Love and Guilty for Barbara Streisand, Islands in the Stream for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and probably my favorite, Immortality for Celine Dion.
Such a Shame" (from Idea) is the only song on any Bee Gees album not written by a Gibb brother. As of April 2020, the Bee Gees have written 1,030 songs, either alone or with others. Barry Gibb has written or co-written more than 1,000 songs, though he has never kept count. The Bee Gees have written songs for many artists, including Diana Ross, Olivia Newton-John, Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton, and Kenny Rogers just to name a few.
Also cos this song is from the Main Course album from '75.There is NO disco on this album..r&b..some country, but disco was yet to come for the Gibb brothers.
@CVTECK1 Whatever happened to you doing a Bee Gees playlist? We miss you reacting to Barry, Robin, & Maurice!!!!!!❤ Next up should be: FANNY BE TENDER JIVE TALKING YOU SHOULD BE DANCING LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT Some Songs they wrote: you already did Islands in the Stream (Kenny/Dolly). Have you done: Barbara Streisand: WOMAN IN LOVE (Bee Gees wrote entire album for her) CHAIN REACTION (Diana Ross). Bee Gees wrote entire album for her. HEARTBREAKER (Dionne Warwick). Bee Gees wrote entire album. The title song from the movie GREASE (Frankie Valli). Only Barry wrote this song. EMOTIONS (Samantha Sang). Later Destiny’s Child re-recorded it. The original, to me, was better. And…you haven’t even tapped into the Bee Gees’ younger brother (ANDY GIBB)! His 1st 3 single released all went to number 1. Barry worked really close with Andy. You’ll notice he hat in most of the songs they wrote for other folks, they, more often than not, also sung background vocals and played instruments, and Barry & his production team produced them. So… PLEASE GET BACK ON THE BEE GEES BANDWAGON!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lolol....live tv....I'm sure the audience was instructed to maintain due to a live recording. Sponsors were paying for the show...producers weren't going to risk losing Sponsorship over messed up production.
88th damm I was 15 when this aired....... Damm you TIME & GRAVITY! BeeGees were the BOMB !!! They were my Junior & Sr Proms....78-79....I was surprised too when I saw the video - like WHY arent they dancing..? Maybe the BeeGees just wanted to -entertain- ? Small venue
Fanny be Tender is a R&B banger for The Bee Gees. It is worth a listen.
Totally agree.

The twins are superb sounding.
Best Group ever ❤❤❤
Give special attention to Robin. He is one of a kind. Try black diamond
Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees wrote a song that Dolly sang on. Islands in the Stream by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.
No, all 3 brothers wrote it.
@@Zlata1313 Thanks!
Barry also sang backing vocals on Islands in the Stream.
This is the song where Barry found his falsetto!

The audience did the same thing when they filmed Deep purple:Child in time.
Lonely Days by The Bee Gees
Bee Gees are one of my favorites, For Whom the Bell Tolls which was one of their last 2003, "One" 1989, To Love Somebody in 1969. They had hits from the 60s-the the early 2000s, More than a Women, Night Fever, Alone and so many others. You also need to get into Hall & Oates starting with I Can't Go For That.
This song has an outstanding bridge! These guys were brilliant!
This was a tv show - audience was told to stay seated -

If you haven't allready.. Love you inside out, closer than close, jive talkin ❤..
Geniuses and kings..FAN4LIFE
Fantastic song. Luv you Barry.!!!❤
They are all brothers!!!
1977 i became a fan at 10 years old
barbra streisand and barry gibb what kind of fool
Has to be live version!
I loved your reaction. Thanks for watching this song.
You're my new guy , because you actually acknowledge us. Bingo ... I'm subscribed
"A Woman In Love".....written by Bee Bee's and sung by Barbra Streisand, accompanied by Barry Gibb ( video)
Wind of Change, Baby As You Turn Away, Mr Natural. Their catalog is deep. Enjoy!
The audience is in shock and awe
There are millions of records sold amazing
You missed one of the best era's for music. 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's.
You’ll enjoy it!❤
It was different times.
And that must be respected
For us to respect
cliff richard and bary gibb i can't give you my love
Dare i say BETTER than the album's version?!Live is fire!Exceptional performance!
You will love" Fanny be Tender"
I saw them live at Saratoga Springs.
I'm with you. How can they not move to this?
It was a TV show, and back then the audiences were not allowed to talk or move.
maykil jackson and barry gibb all in your name
Check out ‘Immortality’, a Bee Gees song written for Celine Dion, and they do her backing vocals…excellent! That slow part in the middle of Nights On Broadway was the first time they used their high falsettos. And try ‘Alone’, (the official video) for another super high, upbeat masterpiece.
Yes! Move! I think the audience was told to stay still so as not to be a distraction, or they just didn't know how to dance to this. It was a pretty new kind of sound, with the Funk.
🤜👊🤛
Please do other songs recorded by other artists that The Bee Gees wrote. Some include:
If I Can't Have You (Yvonne Elliman) -- went to #1
Woman in Love ( Barbra Streisand)- went to #1!.
Chain Reaction (Diana Ross) - went to #1 in several
European countries! And yes, The Bee Gees wrote all the songs on this CD too. Barry also did the background vocals.
Immortality (Celine Dion) The Bee Gees (went to number 1 in several countries),also sung background. The live 1997 from Vegas is excellent!
More Than a Woman (Tavares)
Love Me (Yvonne Elliman)
Come on Over (Olivia Newton John)
Emotions (Samantha Sang, with a lot of background vocals with Barry). Destiny's Child also recorded it.
Grease--from the movie (Frankie Valli), went #1
Heart Beating in Time (Leo Sayer)
Let me wake up in your arms (Lulu), who use to be married to Maurice Gibb
A lot of Andy Gibb songs (Shadow Dancing, Everlasting Love, Love is Thicker than Water, Our Love, Don't Throw It Away; Desire;). Andy's 3 released solo songs all went to #1!
Next.......listen to "Tears" from the 90s "ONE" album. My favorite.
Ok, so you're next could be Fanny Be Tender
👍
diana ross chain reaction
Such a Shame" (from Idea) is the only song on any Bee Gees album not written by a Gibb brother. As of April 2020, the Bee Gees have written 1,030 songs, either alone or with others. Barry Gibb has written or co-written more than 1,000 songs, though he has never kept count. The Bee Gees have written songs for many artists, including Diana Ross, Olivia Newton-John, Barbra Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton, and Kenny Rogers just to name a few.
Funky as hell
I never understood why the audience didn't move. It's nuts. I have to dance anytime I hear Disco.
Because it was a live taping.
They were probably asked not to. It’s a TV show. The producers probably wanted no distractions.
Also cos this song is from the Main Course album from '75.There is NO disco on this album..r&b..some country, but disco was yet to come for the Gibb brothers.
Listen to the Saturday night fever soundtrack. There are a lot of Bee gees songs on there
@CVTECK1
Whatever happened to you doing a Bee Gees playlist? We miss you reacting to Barry, Robin, & Maurice!!!!!!❤
Next up should be:
FANNY BE TENDER
JIVE TALKING
YOU SHOULD BE DANCING
LOVE YOU INSIDE OUT
Some Songs they wrote: you already did Islands in the Stream (Kenny/Dolly). Have you done:
Barbara Streisand: WOMAN IN LOVE (Bee Gees wrote entire album for her)
CHAIN REACTION (Diana Ross).
Listen to fanny be tinder with my love
How are you expected to know if you didnt grow up with them. I get it
New York Mining Disaster by the Bee Gees
3 harmony ?
Fanny
Lolol....live tv....I'm sure the audience was instructed to maintain due to a live recording. Sponsors were paying for the show...producers weren't going to risk losing Sponsorship over messed up production.
bee gees he's a liar
88th damm I was 15 when this aired....... Damm you TIME & GRAVITY! BeeGees were the BOMB !!! They were my Junior & Sr Proms....78-79....I was surprised too when I saw the video - like WHY arent they dancing..? Maybe the BeeGees just wanted to -entertain- ? Small venue
There's another group that jammed out in the 70s. Thier name is Slave with the song slide. Thanks for the cool reactions.
