Summary Pros good price, good dilution ratio, nice consistency of the foam, safe product no staining issues. Reasonable cleaning power for PH neutral. Pleasent scent. Cons does not have cleaning power of a high alkaline, so more of a maintainance foam prewash.
Great video as usual John will you be doing a best snow foam shampoo review on your opinion on the best snow foam for summer use or any time use?? Kind regards Dave... 👌🏻👍🏻😁
I've been leaving on my prewash longer in those colder days , enough time for a coffee . Been using surfex hd at 10% in a garden sprayer with a bit of magifoam on top only at 50ml per 450ml waem water to hold on panels . Been concerned snowfoam alone not being effective enough at the time of year. Really undecided if blast off first or go onto dry panels . Keep getting different results, last wash went on dry and seemed better .
Been repeatedly getting in this similar scenario this whole winter pretty much. Light rain, or it just rained, so the only thing hitting the car is the crap off other cars and the road. Washed yesterday with rinseless because of being an apartment dweller, and it was nerve wracking. Had nothing but sand, salt, and general grit caked. It just clogs the coating instantly. Really had to abuse the presoak yesterday. Also got to try some Polish Angel master final polish I got for Christmas yesterday on some small areas with light surface marring. That was quite the treat, I've never used a scented polish, but it smells like a fresh cut orange. Did a really good job with light pressure and a Rupes white pad to knock them down.
Apartment dweller also. I have a Worx Hydroshot. Can't do proper snow foam. Makes me wonder how much of the benefit comes from snow foam softening/ dissolving road crap and how much from blasting crap off with super powerful pressure washer. The handwash dirty bucket water was disturbingly dirty (so I've basically scratched my car to bits).
I think Bilt Hamber says to find the accurate PIR of your lance fill the lance with water attach to your pressure washer and spray into a bucket until it's empty. Then use the litres in the bucket and the recommended PIR ratio to work out how much foam to put into your lance.
@@leviticusdavis3117 Hi mate, no worries at all it's panel impact ratio.. Basically Bilt Hamber will have a mixture based on panel impact ratio and that's because every pressure washer and foam cannon has different flow rates. If you fill your cannon with water then attach your Canon and spray it into a bucket until empty it'll tell you how many litres flow through to empty out the cannon and with that you can then work out how many millilitres of wash you need ie 4 percent of what's in the bucket..
I wasn't aware how much protection impacts how effective a foam is until recently Jon. Used a ph neutral one & on my partners can which lacks protection it done very little. On my equally as dirty car with fresh cancoat it performed much better. Something I've never fully considered up until recently & changed my perception of ph neutral foams. They won't give auto foam/touchless/spritzer etc a run for their money as far as cleaning goes but on well protected paint they are perfectly adequate 👍
Just a suggestion; when spraying the foam off, start at the top and work your way down. You mostly started at the bottom and worked your way up. Doing it that way, all the dirt from the top was just rinsed over the lower areas that you already "cleaned".
@@DasArab of course it does. If you rinse from top down you can’t see where you have rinsed and will miss bits because you will wash all the foam off before you get to it. If you are coming from the bottom up you are always rinsing off the foam so you know exactly where you have done.
In my experience, soaping the car first, no rinse, like you did, from the bottom up unless the foam is thick enough that it doesn't run down, then, letting the soap soak into the dirt for a few minutes makes using a wash mitt or the like unnecessary. Nothing that survives being soaked with soap then hit with pressure has enough body to do any damage as you dry the car. The thing I like to do is to put an ounce or so of an SIO2 wash and wax into a bucket of water, wet my microfiber drying towels - 2 or 3 - then spin them in my spin dryer and use those treated microfiber towels to dry the car. The SiO2 seems to have more affinity for the towels than for the water, then more affinity for the paint than for the towels so every time I dry my car I'm renewing my coating. Also, towels treated like that are great on windows. you go over the windows, let them dry and wipe - you'll think you're on TV.
Try that method you said and get a white drying towel or white microfibre and try drying the car without a contact wash, even do 2 pre washes if you want , by the time you finished the drying the towel will be black and your car will be full of swirls. I think that sio2 spin dry method is a overkill for me as it adds too much time onto the job and too much messing about, for you that’s ok as your obviously not washing your car properly in the first place
@@M.E63 My 2011 car doesn't have a cobweb let alone a scratch on it. I use a headlamp and all direct lighting when I polish and when I check. Look at your car in a blacked out environment with just the light from your phone and let me know what you find.
@@robertwhyte3435 let’s put it this way I wouldn’t be polishing my car if there wasn’t no swirls on it, polishing involves removing clear coat or paint so I wouldn’t do that unless there’s swirls to correct, especially on newer cars, swirls are different to scratches and the method you spoke about is unheard of in detailing, you can pre wash a car 10 times and it won’t remove all the dirt, there has been lots of tests to try to find a way to wash a car properly without touching it and no one has been able to be successful, you can use the strongest TFR in the world and even that doesn’t remove all the dirt so I don’t understand how your method can work which is just a basic method. What is this product you use to foam up the car that’s that great at cleaning and doesn’t damage any plastics or chrome ? Look I’m not being rude or anything like that but I’m just saying it’s not possible and I can guarantee not one person will agree with your method, i don’t use headlamps either for polishing as I need to use high powered lights and torches and shine them at panels close up and at different angles to check my polishing
Nice one Jon! I'm an Autofoam user in the winter months, I find the alkaline products are better dealing with the road film. I need a PH neutral for the warmer weather, when road film isn't the issue, this seems to be a good solid product foe the warmer days ahead. I wish you well in your travels.
I wish you didn't foam a panel so we could see how much difference the foam makes since the pressure washer is responsible for stripping off most of the road film.
The 'cut out issues' are because the pressure washer wasn't primed, Jon only just turned it on but hadn't ran the water through the hose/machine to release all the air trapped, perfectly normal & every pressure washer I've ever had does this on initial use until all the air is released. The machines still going which you cna hear in the video, it's not cutting out but spitting out the air within the water.
Ideally you should empty it and run a full bottle of water through it again to prevent the soap gunking up your filter. Can also use a bucket of water instead of your bottle and run it for a minute
Good question is that! After some trial and error, I worked out how much I need for my car and only mix up that amount. If i ever have a small amount left,, I dump that in the shampoo bucket. The advice re cleaning out the lance, see above, is good too, I simply take the vessel off, drop the feed tube into my rinse bucket and rinse it out that way. All the best.
Love watching your video's ,one thing I've picked up from you is to always shake the product in its bottle before use.And do I spy weeds growing in your gutter, time to get up the ladder??
Never gonna beat touchless or autofoam but its not competing with them. I’m impressed though as “PH neutral” has been marketing nonsense for SHITE in terms of raw power but this doesn’t subscribe to that.
It looked like this snow foam didn't lift anything. The rear looked the same as it was before the foam was applied. In this instance i think the close fan of the jetwash done all the work.
didn't seem to pick up the dirt and cause it to run off the panels really , maybe because of the cold ? would it be wise to mix it with warm water maybe ?

Touchless foam need high pressure machine with 150bar which is quite expensive to home machine. Triple the price so i will go with the touch one.
. Touchless can be used with low pressure rinse

That would not make any difference mate because your lance feed ratio to the main water feed is too low.
