As a teen in the sixties I was living with my parents who were in the RAF at Northolt. I was crazy about the Troggs and if they ever appeared within travelling distance I would go to their gigs. I looked up my diaries and these are the venues I saw them performing - 21 May 1967 Starlite Greenford , 7 March 1967 ,Adelphi Slough, 6 May 1966, Town Hall High Wycombe 21June 1966 Starlite Ballroom Greenford 17 July 1966 Marquee London 26 July 1966. In the autumn of 1967 I had met a Swedish girl and on a visit to Sweden I saw them there in Stockholm in October 1967, Such happy memories
I don't know if they are underrated or not, but wild thing is one of the most iconic songs of all time. Jimi Hendrix played wild thing before he sacrificed his 🎸 at Monterey pop festival by lighting it on 🔥.
The music was good in the 60's bands like the Troggs, The Zombies,The Tremalos to name a few were just apart of our daily lives. You never know how good you have it till it's gone..Rip Reg!

You never had any intention of having a relationship with me in the future? I mean something good has come out of that you drew closer to God. Yet I am just the counterfeit when I only wanted love.
No only Reg Presley the singer is original, Bass player Pete Lucas joined the troggs in 1974 and guitarist Christ Britton also toured long times with the Troggs but both are not the original members from the 60's.
@@7inchrecords Chris Britton was the original guitarist with the Troggs. He was in the band at it's conception in Andover, UK. He was a friend of Reginald Ball (Presley). Consequently Chris Britton is on all of the early Troggs Recordings.
David I think it's my recording of the video that screwed this up. The video was in my cupboard for years. I was at the concert hall and didn't hear any false note.
IT IS NOT THE REAL ORIGINAL VERSION. YOU TRANSFORMED IT, BY A LATER INFLUENCE, HARD ROCK. SO IT IS RATHER A KINDVOF HARD ROCK VERSION. AND I PREFER THE SMOOTHER ORGINAL 1966 VERSION. SO IT IS NOT THE ORIGINAL VERSION. I AM MYSELF REALLY POST- HARD ROCK. AND ELECTRONIC MUSIC IS THEREFORE IN MANY INSTANCES BETTER THAN THIS TYPE OF HSRD ROCK, WITH EVEN NOTHING ELECTRONIC IN IT, AS IT IS THE CASE FOR LINKING PARK OR LIMP BISCUIT (MY WAY FIR EXAMPLE). I AM NOT REALLY IN THIS TYPE OF MUDIC OF THE 70S. BETTER THEREFORE THE ORIGINAL.
Luigi, you don't have to shout when saying that you don't like this version of a classic rock song. The Troggs were not a hard rock band neither a metal band. In the sixties there were many bands that play rock songs; The Kinks, The Yardbirds, The Easybeats to name a few. Of course, this is not the original version, it is a live concert, played 31 years later! I think that Reg and his band The Troggs played a very nice gig in the 90's. Telling me that I transformed the music in this video is ridiculous and not true.
I was sweet 16 in 1966 now im sour 74 loved the song still do 😂

In my opinion, Wild Thing was the number one song in 1966.
One of my favorite Troggs songs ever!
You know it's an amazing song when Hendrix covers it and turns it into a 7 minute acid fueled banger.
Love it! From the best decade of music.

They still had it after 31 years .......

Well said. I laugh when I hear the term "turned over in their grave" They need to turn over because there' stiff. That's all.

These guys knew how to rock.
Just Brilliant.
This band is totally underrated
What makes you believe they're underrated? Did you travel the globe taking a survey from every citizen of the world? Please explain.
No they are not. Excellent band and a lot of people know that
Love it! ~ Best version!

I saw the at the Top Rank in Birmingham in 1977. They were still relatively young, and Reg Presley was in black leather.
I'm just here for the blistering ocarina solo....FAR OUT, mannnn.
