Why does he get in the car _like that?!_

I am gonna assume that the driver waited a few minutes after starting the car before revving it, and that the wait was edited out of this clip. Or that the car was driven to that spot, and parked for a very short time before being started again.
Because it is bad for the engine to rev it like that when the coolant is cold. And that car is being sold for $210k+

Not just the coolant, but you'd want the engine to definitely be warmed up. And seeing how there was a cut between starting the car and revving it, it's possible they let the engine warm up to temp after starting it.

Yeah being a remote mountain road, I think this would be driven there for the shoot so likely still plenty warm with just time needed to wipe it down and set up cameras.

@@JDubST my understanding is that the temp gauge measures coolant temp, not engine temp. If the coolant is cooling the engine, then the engine will generally be hotter, right?

@@ITNoetic Coolant temp =/= engine temp. If there's any fluid you want/should go by though, then it's oil.

@@JDubST what is the temp gauge you can see when behind the wheel? Engine, coolant, or oil temp?
