What we learned from this episode: adding a body kit to an exotic takes some serious balls.
Yup👍
If I was significantly richer, and a few years older I 100% would've jumped on this shit. I loved the wide body kits of NFS Underground and hated how exotic and American cars didn't have sick body kits like the Japanese cars did.

Right.. he literally did nothing but upgrade it slightly 😂
@@alancrome3684 Yeah, but that's what made it look appealing to petrolheads. Most of the hate probably came from the fierce Tifosis who ensure minimum mileage n that the cars sat on original tyres 15 years later. Compared to what LBW does these days, the F40 looked quite OEM. Somethin similar to the cars converted to LM spec by Michelotto. Also why someone like Joe Macari even put it in his showroom. He's known for trading unmolested and tastefully modded classic n current gen Ferraris.
It’s stock officer
Check out the driftworks channel, he built a road legal lambo murcialago super trofeo gt3 car, thing is absolutely insane

I met Kato san 2 years ago at LBWK HQ. He’s super nice, a lovely person and they way he makes these kits is like a work of art.
For all the absurd "cease and desist" orders Ferrari has sent, I'm glad the F40 & F50 got modified.
Ferrari is just lame now. Generic looking super-cars that they don't want you to drive even if you technically own it and paid for it.
They probably answered Ferrari's Cease & Desist with "Sorry. I don't understand pizza."
Tbh the modified f40 especially looks pretty good

I don't have time to watch the vid at the moment cause I'm at work. Obviously any time I can talk about when I went to Japan I'm gonna... I saw the notification though and just want to say, the people at Liberty Walk are some of the nicest people I've ever met. In the whole world. I went to Nagoya 6 years ago or so? (time flies) to visit there and they gave me TONS of free stuff. Free stickers, free DVDs, free food... I told them right when I got there "I'm sorry I can't afford to buy your cars or body kits, but I'd like to buy some shirts and stickers!" and I paid for a few things and they gave me tons of stuff for free! They said they don't often get many Americans there so they thought it was cool I went to Nagoya just to see them. I didn't get the chance to meet Kato since he was in a meeting, but he waved to me out the window and gave me a thumbs up! I'll remember that experience until the day I die. It was awesome. (Also the people around where their shop is in Nagoya are sooooo incredibly nice. You have to walk a ways from the train to get to their shop, so I walked by lots of school kids and older people out watering plants and almost everyone said hello and even a few kids stopped and asked to take pics with me 😂.)
LOL, starts with „have no time“ to delve into a full holiday episode.
I've got no emotional attachment to Ferrari, let alone the F40, so I honestly like their mods to it.

I guess what the OP is trying express is that there are functional and subtle wide body fenders that extends 10 to 15cm of clearance like the origin labs/vertex kit, Yashio Factory and Rasty kits for the S-chassis, just look at the zn6/zc6 for example since that's when bolt-on kits like this targeted for culture exportation(tra_kyoto's rocket bunny,Pandem,Rowen,Rallybacker...etc)took off after speedhunter's coverage and NFS2015's influence on the gen z generations. And then there are kits like Varis Arising II, Blitz Aerospeed, Ings+1 N-Spec, AKEa and the Revolution front fenders that came one-piece without the need of cutting up the OEM fenders and are often intented for weekend TA Sessions.
But of course like how the sayings goes, These kit did a damn well job on the target demographic they intended for, and this speaks volume on the split between how two different generation's evaluation of car culture.
Thank you for wearing a shirt that matches the green screen James, do it more often please

Been waiting for this one. Liberty Walk really stand out among body kit makers to me, they just capture the perfect spirit and essence of performance car ballsiness. I love how they keep coming back to the R35 and re-imagining it, but that Miura is my favourite, probably, especially in red and black Advan livery.
Not everything I really needed to get up to speed on Liberty Walk, though. I'm still dying to know what Liberty Walk actually means. I mean sure, freedom to customise and express yourself and stuff...but Walk? not Liberty Drive? Why? Pretty sure most customers don't want to walk. Is Liberty Walk an actual place? Does it have another meaning or association? It's just a weird name.
Also, perhaps this is too hot a take, but while I love their designs I think their branding is godawful. A superman logo ripoff and a moonlogic abbreviation of Liberty Walk to LBWK...this could be a great deal better.
It's simply inspired by the race cars of the past!
Most race cars had riveted fenders to make it easy to fit wider wheels/tires.

My opinion on this is that there’s a time and place for just about every aspect of car culture. The dude had a Ferrari F40. He wanted to change it. That’s his decision and it was cool. But when the modifications take over the priceless originals then I think they’re problems. Same thing as with electric vs gasoline.
I agree!
