Debated having a local armorer install it due to time constraints. But nothing like building your own. having bought a bare bones left-hand upper, I didn't install the gas block and tube. But I needed a handguard installed. This vid helped me do that. Good stuff, AT3.
One thing I do is use a plastic picatinny hand stop or rail to bridge the hand guard/upper to perfectly align the hand guard to the upper before tightening those barrel nut bolts
Thank you Watched 4 other install of Free-Float M-LOK Handguard for AR15 and none of others showed where all the bolts are. Could not get it off until you showed the small ones recessed for holding onto the barrel.
Thanks for the video! I have one of your rails and was wondering if you go from free float to another free float, do you still have to remove the gas block??
Thanks Sam! Nope, our low profile gas block should be compatible with pretty much all free float diameters currently out there. Definitely watch the barrel nut, though. Not all free float handguard manufacturers use the same barrel nut... I would say that our barrel nut is one of the most commonly used across the board, but different ones exist so keep an eye on that. :)
I'm trying to remove my mlok guard but it's stuck! Any idea why ? It looks just like your and I removed the two lower screws and one on top where the picatinny is.
Well, that was quick! 😂 Yup, and a 5/64" punch will pop that little guy out in a jiffy! When it comes time to put it back together, best to get a new pin.... actually, grab a couple because they are notorious for "carpet surfing" aka, lost in the carpet abyss!
@@At3tactical ita funny you say that..... thank you for putting 2 pins in there😂😂 I got it lined up and tightened. Now for the hand gaurd. Thanks for all the pointers!
Hey there, it's just the handguard, barrel nut, barrel nut wrench and hardware in our AT3 Tactical Spear Free Float Handguards. Meaning, if you need to replace your existing gas block and tube to fit a free float handguard (M&P15 Optics Ready style comes to mind), then you'll need to get a Low Profile Gas Block & Tube. YT won't let me post a link, but we have AT3 gas blocks & tubes as well. ;)
Thanks for your interest, Miles! I'm afraid our Spear is not compatible with most piston kits as they won’t fit under the handguard. The inner width where the gas block would sit isn't wide enough for the gas block. It's only at 0.395".
I like that trick with the gas block, I’m gonna use that next time

I’m here because Randy is coming here. And my wife says this guy could definitely be Ryan’s son. Good luck on growing this channel!
Welcome to AT3 Evan! We're so glad to have Randy, so excited to work with him.
Great instructional and demonstrational video on AR-15 upper assembly. Thank you!
I can vouch these handguards are top notch!
We appreciate the comment, FreedomLover!
Watched for gun assembly reasons.
Enjoyed for concise step-by-step.
Liked for Meteorite ring.

Just ordered the Handguard. Thanks for the informative vid.
Thanks for choosing, AT3 Tactical! We're glad you like the video!
Great video and the GB pin went in perfect! I will try this just before installing your rail, which i will oder this weekend!!! Thanks for the video.
I purchased the handguard, magpul stock and grip. Putting them on today to finish up my first build.
shout out to the Real Avid Lug Lok AR-15 Upper Vise Block which gives you plenty of capability against an over-torqued PSA barrel nut
I’m stoked to put mine on this weekend! Thanks for the video!
Great instructional video. Thanks.
I would like to try this handgaurd in a 12" on a build I'm currently working on.
Awesome video very well detailed
I just bought there slick side upper and it's just a well made as my aero percision but looks better.
Are you guys planning to make this in anodized red?
Not for the foreseeable future. We will be doing a special run of red Cerakote uppers, lowers and hanguards this summer.
I am re-installing my hand guard, however mine keeps nose-diving at the top near the muzzle.
If you'd like, you can give us a call and Kevin will be able to help troubleshoot that with you.

What length handgaurd was this?
Why havent you all restocked anything recently?
Hey, so with the A2 sights am I re using the OEM gas tube? I purchased the low pro block. Having issues removing the tube from the A2.
Never mind I found a tiny pin, I think that's it.

I notice in different images online that there are 2 versions of set screws. Why? Which is newer version? Thanks
Concerning 5:10 is blue thread lock ok? will it hold up to the heat?
no problem
If you don’t shoot your rifle very often it will work fine. Just don’t take a class with it or it will fail.
Good video
would i need to purchase a new gas tube and does the gas block come in as apart of the kit?

@@At3tactical say less 👌🏽
Do I have to have a anti rotation slot on the lower receiver to install this and hand guard on my ar15 pistol
Will M-Lok attachments mount on all sides of the handguard?
Hi Solar! Yes, the attachment points are at 3, 6, & 9 o’clock position.
I have basic tools no vice should i hire a gun smith instead
What size torque wrench do you need ?
Will the spear free float work with a piston gun

What size is the wrench for the barrel?
Hi Robert! It's 30 mm.
If I’m just replacing my existing free float hand guard do I need to remove the barrel nut and install the new one?
Hi Chris! Yes, the SPEAR handguard comes with it's own barrel nut.
Thats not a clam shell
