I'm only 7.5 weeks younger than Shaun Ryder, but as a U.S. American, I hadn't heard of Happy Mondays until I saw the film 24 Hour Party People at an alternative cinema shortly after it had come out. Now I'm really into the Mondays and all their music. I can't get enough of "God's Cop" and "Judge Fudge" and "24 Hour Party People" and all the recorded and live videos on UA-cam.
Such an underrated album. This is on a par with the Roses debut album but never gets the same recognition. In fact, I'd say this album is more representative of those times.
When Happy Mondays got it right they got it right and this is one of those tunes. Top groove, Shaun's Helter Skelter vocals, and a spring in your step bounce beat. Nice 1 Mondays thanks for your contribution to this great city.🙏🏾🤪
