Normally there would be ZERO trace left behind. Just youtube burning man cleanup. but yeah this year presents challenges since the mud will dry up all rutted up with bits of "junk" inside.

Absolutely agree, Doug, thank you. I was there, camped at 9:15 and J through K, a large placed camp with people who really care to leave no trace. And we swept our scene down to the last tiny trace. But all the other veteran burners I spoke to shared my concern that the epic trash heap left behind will be radically out of step with the principle of Leave No Trace. Lotsa first-time burners, just leaving their stuck-to-the-ground tarps and tents, carpets and kit, likely a monumental mess. I trust the Org doesn't go BK as a consequence. But for me, I'm out, I'm done, this is a great time that is now quite obviously out of step with it's own stated values - and mine. Beyond the apocalyptic mess left behind, it's just not the same experience.

What an adventure! So proud of you to be seeing how well your last video has done and how much you've grown because of it. Truly an incredible experience, I hope you're able to capitalize off of this momentum and keep this train rolling!

Cupcakes still writhing in the mire! Now they can plan to tell their grandkids how they fought off packs of wolves only to be cornered by cannibals. Committees are planning a reenactment for 2024.

Thanks for clearing things up - it was really pissing me off the way people were responding to the news stories who don’t know anything about how these big festivals work or assuming things about the people who attend. Shoutout to the volunteers who go back in after festivals to clean up because they really make it possible. Also don’t be shy about volunteering for festivals you enjoy because giving back to the community is important! ❤
